As the saying goes,” Seeing is believing”. It means that what you hear about may be false, what you see is true. It is so natural that people rarely doubt it. But now it seems that many things lead us to further discussion on this matter.
Every morning, we see that the sun rises from the east and sets down from the west, so people take it for granted that the sun moves around our earth. Actually, it’s our earth that moves around the sun.
When you watch the close-up magic performance, you may be amazed by what you have seen. When the train disappeared in front of your eyes, when the magician is cut in half by the electric saw,” Oh, my God! It’s impossible”. You may blurt out the words. Yeah, it is really happened under your very eyes. But you know that the train is still there and the magician is not hurt by the terrible machine.
The things we mentioned above are simple but worth thinking deeply about. We may be cheated by the surface of things. But do you know why? I will analyze the reasons.
In the process of recognizing an object, there are many factors influencing our judgments. If you know little about physics, you will be confused by the wonderful sight of mirage. Good morning, ladies and gentle man, I am Caitlin and I feel honored to be here to deliver a message about one of my life lessons.
My friends, Have you ever notice that a chopstick looks broken off when put into the water but it doesn’t look so when you lift it out of the water? Have you ever notice that when you pick a good red apple to have a good taste but only to find there’s a worm in it? And when a magician make things disappear, perhaps all of us can’t believe what we saw. Ladies and gentle men, and that’s what I want to tell all of you: seeing is not believing, you need to look into things carefully before you come to a final conclusion.
If we look on things more carefully not by mere seeing we can make good decision. My mother once told me a story, there are two clinics. One has many ghosts outside the door while the other only has one ghost outside the door, then which one will you choose to see the doctor？I remembered I chose the second one because I think the second one maybe have a more skilled doctor but my mother told me I was wrong. The reason that there are many ghosts outside the first clinic is that 1
the doctor had treated many patients and the ghosts were only a small part and most patients were cured. However in the second one, the doctor only treat a patient and he died and he’s the ghost we saw outside the door. So if we want to cure our disease instead of death, we’d better go to the first one. So never decide when you first saw a phenomenon, look into it and that’s the way we get the genuine facts.
In addition, if we look things by different ways, we can judge people correctly. I think everyone has watched the movie “pride and prejudice”, the hero is pride externally, so the heroine has some prejudice against him and she was even fed up with him, but eventually the heroine canceled the prejudice because their communication and the observation by herself. Here we know that we should not judge a person by appearance and to known a person well, we must look into instead of merely seeing.
Some people may think it troublesome to look on things by looking into it. But if we don’t do so not only can we misunderstand people but also can miss many good things. Take the stinky tofu for instance, you may dislike it when you smell it or at the first sight of it, but when you taste it, some 2
of you may like it very much. But those who does not taste may not find its good taste.
In this case, what should we do? Well. Personally, I think we should try different ways to look into things such as asking for others’ advice, taking some experiments, finding some similar examples, using some medical tools and so force. Anyway you should try different ways to learn a person, a thing or a matter. Just as the scientists who try to do their research in different ways.
In conclusion, you just use different ways to look into the object and if you do as I stated, you will achieve a lot.
Ladies and gentle man, looking on things more carefully not by mere seeing, we can make good decision and judge a person correctly and not miss some good things. So take action and make you life easier.
