Seeing is not believing

(一)开场语 Good evening ,ladies and gentlemen .My name is Valkyrie Wong .It is a great honor for me to be given the opportunities to deliver the speech here. My subject of speech is “Seeing is not believing”.

The old saying is not always true, the proverb can be false, the words of great man sometime are not right. Most of people think that the old saying is right as rain, but actually is not so.

(二)what下定义

So,What does“Seeing is not believing ”means ? It just means” The fact can not be formed based on what you have saw “

(三)why分析

①Firstly, People’s eyes always observe the things’ appearance , but the idea appeared in our mind just reflect the objectivity of materials.

Just let’s watch a picture. There is a so beautiful woman .But what does her real appearance look like? The beauty eaquals to the ugly, which shows “Seeing is not believing”.

For example, when some people go to buy some apples in the supermarket, what they take into consideration is red and big ones, neglecting the worms in it .Therefore, we can see that not everything is as good as what we see from the surface. That is to say, most people only scratch the surface of things. They tend to be confused by the

beautiful appearance of things. Likewise, we can’t judge a person only by its appearance .Because some people just hide themselves and we can’t see through them. So you can see that seeing is not always believing.

So,how can we do? we should not completely prostrate oneself in worship, because some other deep meaning, need careful thinking and understanding.

②Secondly, in the other word, some people are opportunistic to change the fact that you can see, people mistakenly see is facts. If you believe him, then you will be cheated. And the result can be worse. Therefore,We must admit that anything has two sides and analysis from different points of view.

Ok, Let’s watch an another picture. Look at the picture in 5 seconds. Guess he is Einstein or she is Marilyn Monroe.

It’s amazing and interesting ,right ? Therefore ,anything has two sides .Just seeing is not believing.

(四)总结 Seeing is not believing, you must know how to think; you must make the choice carefully; you must follow your heart and learn to observe,. The practice can prove the truth. Only in this way can we make a better choice and be a reasonable person.

That’s all , thank you very much.

第二篇:Seeing is not Believing(眼见并不为实)

Seeing is not Believing

Ladies and gentlemen, today the topic of my speech is Seeing is not Believing.

We are always believing in our eyes. That is to say, we think what we have seen is the truth. However, your eyes sometimes deceive your brain. For example, you see a picture that shows there is a magic cube on the table. But in fact, there is only a piece of hexagon paper on the table. You see matters in three dimensions in your daily life, whereas, when you are looking at a picture, it shows a two dimension image. That phenomenon is called collimation error in the Physics. And there is another miraculous phenomenon called mirage. The people who live seaside or in big mountains can see it suddenly appears a high building in the distance at times. They may be shocked at this, but the principle is easy to understand. The reason of mirage is that when light travels through air with plentiful water vapor, it will be reflected. If there is just right a building on the way of light, its image can be seen from a distance. You’re swindled by your eyes again!Well, if you think what I said are too professional and incomprehensible, I’ll take another example from life.

When you see the round moon is getting more and more bend, do you cry out:There is someone eating the moon! Of course not. When you see David Copperfield sawing off his own waist with electric saw, do you think he will die? Of course not. When you see the sun is bigger than other time in the morning, do you consider that the sun is stretching transformation? Of course not. If I say these, you may even laugh at me. But it’s not a small problem, please attention at this example. When you catch sight of a bagger in rag, is your sympathy in flood? Wait! Is he a real bagger? Is he veritably in predicament and too poor to have a meal? It’s not always credible. Maybe he is only a person who is lazy in working, so he chooses to be a pitiable bagger to get money quickly. If you show mercy upon him, he will be proud of his intrigue. Then he will hoodwink other people. As a result, there will breed more and more“baggers”.

It is to say that we cannot believe in our own eyes? No. We must receive information by watching matters. If we could seriously distinguish what we have seen is true or fault, we will see issues clearly. We can get message partly from the sight, but not all.

That’s all for me. Thank you for your listening and attention.
