My Views on Happiness

Almost everyone desires happiness, but the definition of happiness varies from person to person. For those who are busy all day, having adequate time for entertainment may be happiness. But for those who are fooling around every day, enjoying a wonderful concert is likely to be their happiness. Workaholics consider earning money to be happiness, while patients argue that health is above wealth. Scientists who yearn for new discoveries in science field regard intelligence and wisdom as happiness while some athletes think that only sports can bring them happiness.

In my eyes, happiness is a freedom song, but it is not freedom. Happiness is just a feeling. I remember, once I listened to soft music, I felt extremely relaxed from the bottom of my heart, even though I was up to my ears in study at that moment. I remember, once I ran into an exquisite handcraft article, I could not help wondering how much time it took a man to finish it, meanwhile, I felt heartily respectful for the man, but did not notice the environment around was so terrible. I remember, once I experienced a heated discussion, I felt fully enlightened when it came to a conclusion and found myself on top of the world, even though the discussion lasted longer than enough. Those were all my happiness. So no matter where I am and what I am busily doing, I will be happy if I have no mental burden.

Personally speaking, happiness is simple. As to me, everything can be happiness. And if it is a care you would cast off, that care has been chosen by you rather than imposed upon you. And if it is a fear you would dispel, the seat of that fear is in your heart and not in the hand of the feared. Therefore, happy or not, it all depends upon ourselves, I think.

An Unforgettable Experience

This summer holiday, I went to Dalian with my family. We got there by air. Dalian is a very beautiful and modern city. On the bus, we could see all kinds of buildings which were great.

In the morning, we got to the hotel where we lived. After breakfast, we began to our travel. First we took the bus to the Sea Park. There are so many different kinds of fishes that I couldn’t believe my eyes. We also saw the show of dolphins. Then we had lunch in a restaurant. The seafood which was very famous in China was delicious.

After lunch we went swimming. The sea was blue and beach was golden. We all enjoyed ourselves in the sea. Finally we went back the hotel where we lived. We had a happy day.

In this trip, we also went to some places which were interesting and famous in Dalian, went shopping and so on.

Several days later, we left Dalian. On our way home, we were very happy. This was the reason why we didn’t feel tired. In all, we had a good holiday.

On Keeping a Diary in English

Keeping a diary in English is one of the effective ways to improve our English writing ability. Compared with other forms of writing, it is shorter and takes less time. In keeping a diary in English, we inevitably run up against a lot of difficulties. There is a new market near my house. My mother often goes there and buys what we need for our meals. But I had never been there before.

Yesterday I went to the market with my mother. There were so many people that we could hardly make our way out of the crowds. There were all kinds of vegetables, fish and fruit everywhere. The sellers shouts could be heard every now and then.I remembered that the day before I had asked Mother to buy some fresh fish.Most of the fish there was frozen, but we had not much trouble in finding some fresh fish at the other part of the market. Mr David came to China, for the second time, this spring. During his stay in China, he visited several cities.

My Father

There is always a brilliant image living in my heart. That is my dear father. Seen through the eyes of many other people, father seems to be a very ordinary person. When I was a naughty boy, may be because of the influence of the film."Xiao Bing Zhang Ga",my dream was to be a soldier just like Zhang Ga. I thought if I was a soldier, I should be able to swim, dive and climb trees as he did. It seemed to be very wonderful. So I began to learn swimming, diving and climbing trees. I practiced every day and finally I could do them well. But when I entered junior high school and had the military training. I suddenly found that being a soldier was very difficult and I wasn＇t strong enough to bear it . I had to give my dream up.

But I wasn＇t discouraged, and I had new aim, which was to be a postman, or rather to be a newspaper boy. As a newspaper boy. And Chinese postmen had to stuff very thick newspapers into very small mailboxes from very narrow entrances. The job was far from what I had expected. So once again my dream fell through.
