The feelings after reading the Three Musketeers
As we saw in the closing portions of the book, Dumas gives us a fully
developed Romance within his historical framework. He starts with levity and confidence, and ends with moroseness and doubt. The ending, indeed, seems to question many of the books dearly held values. D'Artagnan becomes a lieutenant in the Musketeers, but his promotion comes from the Cardinal--the Cardinal whom he and his four friends had fought so valiantly against for the first half of the novel. Was all that earlier fighting really worth it, then? Or was there
something futile in all the Musketeers' efforts? Both the possibility of futility and this return to the normal at the end of a great Quest, characterize the form of the Romance as much as do its lighter aspects. Dumas sees the form through.
Dumas's formula serves his story well. His incorporation of Romanticism into the historical novel lifted an entire genre of literature into public adulation, and gave the French people a story that reassured them about their country even as it brought them away from their country's troubles. Popular literature must be
considered on two fronts: aesthetically and socially, as literature and as a popular artifact. The best popular literature, like the work of Alexandre Dumas,
supercedes the latter category to come into our minds as a work of literature in its own right. It is not necessary to know about Dumas's life, or about French history, or about the genre of Romance, to enjoy The Three Musketeers. The superlative entertainment of the novel speaks for itself--which is why it remains so important and so interesting to study it.

There was a boy in a distant county. He liked telling lies. He looked after sheeps every day. He felt very bored. One day, he ran to the village and shouted, “Wolf, wolf, wolf is coming! Come and help! Come and help!”The people ran to the hill. But there was no wolf. The people went home. The next day, the boy was bored again. He ran to the village and shouted, “Wolf, wolf, wolf is coming! Come and help! Come and help!”the people ran to the field. There was no wolf. The people were very angry. Then , a wolf really came to the hill. The wolf wanted to eat the sheep. The boy ran to the village. He asked the people to help him.But the people didn’t run to the hill. They said, “Don’t tell lies.” At last the wolf ate all the sheep. The boy was very sad.

Hello,everyone.My name is sura.This winter holiday I read a book named “Hansel and Gretel”.
Long long ago,Hansel and Gretel’s mother died,they lived with there father and their stepmother.But their stepmother was very bad,she wanted to throw them away.Fortunately,Hansel and Gretel heard their parent’s plan.They came back at noon.But secondly they were not able to reach home.Unfortunately,they arrived at a house whose host was a wicked witch.The witch liked eating children.But she was a blind.So Hansel and Gretel pushed the witch into the oven and the witch died.Later they found some jewels and money in the witch’s house and brought the treasure back to home.Because their stepmother could not stand the poor life,she had left the home.So,Hansel and Gretel lived with their father happily ever after.
After reading this book,I throught Hansel and Gretel was very brave.I should learn to them.
