I’m going to talk about the topic “ Change the unchangeable”.

As the saying goes “nothing is impossible”, that can be also said, nothing is unchangeable. On our way to success, we can meet a variety of difficulties. If we aim at achievement, we are supposed to overcome all of them. Nick Vujicic is well known to us. He was born with no limbs, but what’s incredible is that he can do almost everything by himself which includes riding, playing the drums, swimming, playing football and so forth. Through his struggle, he becomes a real man with a strong heart and positive faith. In his view, there’s nothing impossible. To struggle with obstacles and overcome the bad performance, he has also said, if you cannot create miracles, let yourself be the miracle.

This really hits home not only for him and his massive miracles, but also for us and our unexplored future. We can’t simply give up what’s we’re pursuing. My brother is also a case in point. He is a student in the middle school and has good academic performance except English. Every time after taking an exam, the embarrassing English grade always made him quite upset. Therefore, he decided to spare no efforts to tackle this sort of the situation. Thus, he set down to reading English articles every morning, doing practice and reciting the word. Day after day, little by little, he improved a lot eventually. Little deal though it is, I do harvest a

lot from my brother, who finally changed something unchangeable for him.

I just try to figure out is that, whatever we are suffering, however elaborate the situation is, as long as we try our best, we can certainly change all things unchangeable. I’m firmly convinced that if we put our heart into what we are devoted to, nothing will be unchangeable.

Change the unchangeable

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I am very honored to be here to deliver a speech, the topic of which is change the unchangeable.

First let me tell you a story. There is a Korean girl named Li Xiya whose dream is to become a pianist, but unfortunately she has only two fingers on each her hand. No one believes that she is made for a pianist, except herself. However, through unrelenting practice and effort, she has now released three albums; what’s more, she even got the honor to share a stage with the piano prince Richard Clayderman. So, Xiya has changed the seemingly unchangeable, and become what she’s really meant to be.

Looking back in history, we can see that many of the seemingly unchangeable things have already been changed.

For thousands of years, people could only talk with each other face to face, and hearing voices from thousands of miles away was only a talent possessed by gods in myths, but never by mortals. In fact, distance had always been an obstacle which seemed impossible to conquer in reality, so stories, legends, and myths in ancient times were filled with people’s longing to bridge the distance. The seven league boots, the somersault cloud, the flying horse, etc, were all things imagined for such a purpose. But today, distance is no longer a problem, at least, no longer as perplexing as in the past. Since cars, bullet trains and planes can take people around the world speedily. And cellphones and the internet have weaved a great web over the globe, which makes communication easy and cheap. Most of our friends are today just a phone-call’s distance. If people in the past see these changes , they would be amazed.

Sometimes, things believed unchangeable are nothing but bigotry, yet, accepted as truth for thousands of years. In the past ,women were regarded as the subordinates of men, only fit for reproduction and nothing else at all . However ,with the feminist movement, this concept has changed. Nowadays, women in many countries not only have the same social status but also the same rights as men, and some are even elected as president of the country. The changed concept that women are as equal as men are making the world a better place to live .

There is no clear cut between possible and impossible. Therefore before we try, we can never know what is possible. But as long as we hold the belief that impossible is nothing , and as long as we dare to meet the challenges, things that seem unchangeable today will definitely be changed tomorrow. Thus , if you want to be a better self, to live a better life and to make a better world , please remember there is always a possibility to change the unchangeable.
