What is happiness?

Good morning. Ladies and gentleman, it’s a great pleasure for me to stand here to present my speech——what is happiness. What is happiness？Different individual have various understanding of it. In other words, everybody has his or her own criterion of happiness，if you reach the criterion，you are happiness. There is no doubt that other people's happiness may no be the happiness you want and on the contrary your happiness perhaps can't be accepted by others. To sum up, happiness is like a private article, it is you who could realize the present in it.

If you must give a definition of happiness, in my opinion, there are two kinds of it. One is that you have the perfect life and family, the other is you can do what you like best. It is obvious that lots of people prefer to possess the former kind of happiness, but in the movie "the pursuit of happiness”, the character had the later kind of happiness He was brought up in a single family and not until 28 years old did he know his father, so that he set up his mind to keep his son under his protection. It is his dream to be a investment expert, however, his wife left him owing to poverty, and then he couldn't afford the rent so he led a vagrant life in the city.

Happiness

Good morning，guys. Someone said that the ideal life is to live in an English home，employ a Chinese cook，marry a Japanese wife and take a French mistress. So how do you understand about happiness?

Someone said when they become rich and successful，happiness will certainly follow. However，nothing is further from the truth。There are so many people who are extremely rich are as miserable as live in hell。We often hear that celebrities committed suicide at young for their over-strenuous work。Obviously，money is not always the answer to happiness。

In my opinion，happiness is like a cat eat fish，a dog eat meat，and a ultraman hit little monster。First of all，the true meaning of happiness is content。Just as an old saying goes，“Enough is as good as feast。”I wept because I had no shoes，until I saw a man who had no feet。In addition，the true meaning of happiness lies in contribution。You will feel you are a useful and worthy person when you make real contribution to society。Last but not the least，the true meaning of happiness is not something shallow，but a feeling in the deep of one’s heart。When I’m happy，someone go out with me for big dinner。When I’m sad，someone pat my shoulder and give me a cup of coffee。When I’m hesitant，someone can be my lighthouse and guide my direction。When I’m tired，someone is waiting for me nearby。Those are something called happiness in my mind。

Thought of happiness(20xx年CCTV杯全国英语演讲比赛稿)

Life could be a long journey of pursuing happiness. Does

happiness have a universal definition ? I say no. But there must be something in life that makes you realize what it means . During the SARS period , I heard a true story . In the battle

against SARS, a doctor fell down . Mother of a 6-year-old son, wife of a considerate husband, she used to knock at the door even though she got the key, which annoyed the son . But now , to the son, how wonderful the sound was and how happy it was to open the door for his mum. But that will not happen forever.

What do you think? Things are always like this . We usually don’t cherish what we have until the moment we lose it. It reminds me of Helen Keller, U.S author who was blind and deaf from infancy, lived her life to the fullest. She once said “ Darkness would make you more appreciative of sight ; Silence would teach you the joys of sound .”

Active happiness---not mere satisfaction or contentment ---often comes suddenly, like an April shower or the unfolding of a bud. Then you discover what kind of wisdom has accompanied it. The grass is greener; bird songs are sweeter; the shortcomings of your friends are more understandable and more forgivable. Happiness is like a pair of eyeglasses correcting your spiritual vision.

Nor are the insights of happiness limited to what is near around you. Unhappy, with your thoughts turned in upon your emotional woes, your vision is cut short as though by a wall. Happy, the wall crumbles.

积极的快乐 – 并非单纯的满意或知足 – 通常不期而至，就像四月里突然下起的春雨，或是花蕾的突然绽放。然后，你就会发觉与快乐结伴而来的究竟是何种智慧。草地更为青翠，鸟吟更为甜美，朋友的缺点也变得更能让人理解，宽容。快乐就像是一副眼镜，可以矫正你的精神视力。

快乐的视野并不仅限于你周围的事物。当你不快乐时，你的思维陷入情感上的悲哀，你的眼界就像是被一道墙给阻隔了，而当你快乐时，这道墙就会砰然倒塌。

幸福和财富不能混为一谈。

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, honorable judges. I?m contestant No.**. It?s my honor to have a speech here. The title is “Showing riches is happiness?”

“I have what you do not have!” maybe most of us are familiar with this kind of words, and perhaps, we, who are in this Multimedia Room, had said or heard it when we were young or even in the kindergarten.

I still remember the real anecdote in my kindergarten life. One of my classmates, whose family is rich and father is a policeman, used to be conceited to show her off in our midst. One day, she came to my group and said proudly, “Look, my dad brought me a set of my favorite color pens!” if someone said, “You are the happiest, you always can get the expensive and superior gift from your dad!” she would be quite satisfied and pleased.

The road to happiness

Good morning/afternoon distinguished judges and my fellow students. I am ..from..##. I am going to start my speech with a question. How can we harvest happiness? As for this question, most of you have thought about it incidentally or purposefully. While have you figured out the way? Next, I will share my understanding of this question. For me, the road to happiness is the way to fight for my goals and desires. As a matter of fact, I have been on the road to happiness from the moment I was born.

When I was 5, I racked my brains（绞尽脑汁） to get a Barbie doll or a teddy bear. In order to get them, I was willing to attend the piano class which actually was the last thing I wanted to do. However, on thinking of my little dolls, I forgot all the pains in the piano class. I deeply believed that I was realizing my happiness, and I was on the road to my happiness.

The secret of happiness

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!

I’m Lin Fengyi from Yinglin middle school. It’s my honor to stand here and give you the short speech. The topic for my presentation is “the secret of happiness”.

In our lives, we can always hear the word of “happiness”, but what is happiness? Winning a game is happiness; Getting a high grade in an exam is happiness; Even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also happiness. However, the secret of happiness lies in how you choose to react to the seeming uncontrollable

problems. Happiness is the most precious thing in the world, which can be obtained in different ways.

There are a lot of people who is full of energy and you can see the sweet smile on their faces everyday. You will have question here. Why are these guys happy all the time?
