Edward: 【34】Edible art? Bella.
Bella: Thanks. You know, 【35】your mood swings are kind of giving me whiplash.
Edward: I only said it'd be better if we weren't friends, not that I didn't wanna be.
Bella: What does that mean?
Edward: It means if you were smart, you'd stay away from me.
Bella: Okay, well, let's say 【36】for argument's sake that I'm not smart. Would you tell me the truth?
Edward: No, probably not. I'd rather hear your theories.
Bella: I have considered 【37】radioactive spiders and Kryptonite. Edward: That's all superhero stuff, right? What if I'm not the hero? What if I'm the bad guy?
Bella: You're not. 【38】I can see what you're trying to put off, but I can see that it's just to keep people away from you. It's a mask. 【39】Why don't we just hang out? Everybody's going to the beach. Come. I mean, have fun.
Edward: Which beach?
Bella: La Push.
Edward: I don't know. I just...
Bella: Is there something wrong with that beach?
Edward: It's just a little crowded.

Edible art
【35】词汇讲解:your mood swings are kind of giving me whiplash. mood swings很形象,就是情绪波动,指的是爱德华对待贝拉的态度忽冷忽热。
【36】口语讲解:for argument's sake that I'm not smart
【37】背景知识:radioactive spiders and Kryptonite.
I can see what you're trying to put off
Why don't we just hang out??
LOS ANGELES – Spider-Man’s future is caught in a web of speculation.
Sony Pictures owns the movie rights to Spider-Man in perpetuity (as long as films keep coming), the result of a decades-old deal with Marvel Entertainment. But Marvel, riding a string of mega-hits, has made it very clear in recent years that it wants Spidey back. Sony has firmly resisted: Not for sale.
Is that position softening?
Despite whispers among some producers that the answer is “yes” – especially after “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” underperformed at the domestic box office last summer – Sony executives have continued to say otherwise. Sony has been very public about its future plans for the character, announcing a Spider-Man spin-off called “The Sinister Six” for 2016 and “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” for 2018.
But the chatter won’t go away. Now fans have picked it up. “Avengers Civil War! Marvel and Sony to Do Deal for Spider-Man?” read a Monday headline on Moviepilot, a fan blog. By Tuesday, or so it seemed, all of geekdom was atwitter over the possibility of Spider-Man joining his comic book brethren in Marvel’s cinematic universe.
Conspiracy theorists also note that Sony agreed in 2011 to sell certain Spider-Man merchandising rights to Marvel for $278 million. Past as prologue?
A Sony spokesman declined to comment. Marvel also declined to comment.
The upshot: When there is smoke in Hollywood, someone is almost always trying to start a fire. Whether one actually starts is another matter altogether.
