多模态话语分析功夫熊猫2
梦工厂动画片《功夫熊猫》和《功夫熊猫2》在全球掀起了不小的功夫热潮。憨态可掬的功夫熊猫“阿宝”步入江湖，成为神龙大侠，担当起拯救功夫、拯救中原的重任。《功夫熊猫2》在2011 年5月上映，更是掀起了不小的观影高潮。《功夫熊猫》系列电影之所以赢得中国观众的喜爱是因为它融合了西方大片的制作技术和为中国广大观众所熟悉并感到亲切的中国文化元素。影片《功夫熊猫2》中的“凤凰城”，大红灯笼沿街高挂，黄包车随处可见，整座古城坐落在云雾缭绕、水墨山水之中；气势恢宏的“宫门城”，细节之处尽显成都宽窄巷子与锦里的影子。片中衣（汉服）、食（豆沙包、担担面、豆腐、火锅）、住（亭台楼阁和皇宫宝塔）、行（黄包车）、乐（太极、皮影戏、琵琶、烟花、舞狮）无不体现随处可见的中国元素。同时，在《功夫熊猫2》中，潮湿的植被、淅淅沥沥的雨水、壮观的瀑布等场景构成了“熊猫们的香格里拉”，也将给观众带来更加真实的视觉体验。“水”是中国文化中一种常见的象征意象，片中大量水的元素的加入、水的运用远远超越了水的表象意义。本文将从多模态分析角度分析水在《功夫熊猫2》中禅学意义的构建。
一、多模态话语分析
多模态（multimodality）也称多符号，指包括口语、书面语、图像、图表、空间以及其他可以用来构建意义的各种符号资源。李战子（2003）把多模态定义为除了文本以外，有图像、图表等的符号话语，或者是任何一种以上的符号编码实现意义的文本。多模态话语运用听觉、视觉甚至触觉等多种感觉，语言、图像、声音、动作等是多模态话语交际的手段和符号资源。
Kress（2001：68）指出在书本教材、报纸、电子媒介、网络等传播媒介中，图像正替代语言成为主要的意义构建资源或者与语言平分秋色。由于“视觉文化”的影响，视听动态图像渐渐取代文本来传递信息，意义的构建往往通过文化处所或实体等非语言符号系统来体现。视觉结构绝不只是形式的，它们在语义上也是非常重要的因素。（Kress& Leeuwen，1996：
47）这也就是说，图像和语言一样，对社会现实和心理现实既具有复制作用，又具有重新建构的作用。心理学实验表明，图像比语言更容易吸引读者的注意力，有利于意义的构建和理解。
通过多模态话语分析可以将语言和其他相关意义资源整合起来，（Gibbon，2000）它可以研究语言系统在意义构建和理解过程中的作用，也可以反映图像、音乐、颜色等非语言符号系统在这个过程中所产生的效果，从而使话语意义的解读更加全面、更加准确，进而发现综合使用多种模态而促成的社会交际目的。
OHalloran（2004）提出了系统功能的多模态话语分析，主要研究符号资源的意义潜势在不同符号层面的体现以及多模态话语中符号选择的意义构建和整合。 Kress和Leeuwen（2003）根据Halliday的语言三大功能理论提出了适用于图像分析的“视觉语法”，分别从概念功能、人际功能和语篇功能分析图像等视觉符号的语义关系，并且分析了再现意义（概念意义层面）、互动意义（人际意义层面）构图意义（语篇意义层面）。
随着多模态分析的不断发展，多模态研究不仅仅局限于语言学领域，而且扩展到符号学、哲学、社会学甚至美学等领域，研究对象也从语言文字扩展到音乐、图片、影像等多种社会符号系统。电影是语言、影像、音乐和色彩等多种模态的集合体。电影是一种利用多种符号资源构建意义、传递信息的多模态语篇，电影中意义的体现、功能的建构有赖于电影中多种模态的协同作用。
二、对于水的多模态话语分析
智者乐水，仁者乐山。智者动，仁者静；智者乐，仁者寿。乐水与乐山，始终是中国禅学思想的基本面貌。只有懂得领略那种如山水共生、水天一色般澄澈的境界，才能坚定人性
提升和心灵宁静的意志。《管子·水地篇》中有言曰：“水者何也？物之本原，诸生之宗室也。”水是中国文化中一种常见的象征意象。如止水般平静的内心使熊猫阿宝对要置他于死地与他有深仇大恨的敌人给予宽恕和劝导。在阿宝看来功夫代表的不是报复，不是仇杀，功夫给了阿宝扬善除恶的决心和勇气。《功夫熊猫2》中多种符号资源的融合体现了水的禅学意境。本文将从多模态话语角度分析《功夫熊猫2》中水的再现意义、互动意义和构图意义，进而分析水的禅学意义的构建。
（一）水的再现意义
视觉图像像语言一样能够如实地再现客观世界中的人物、地点和事件以及人物的内心活动。再现分为叙事性再现和概念性再现两大类。电影中多以叙事图像对意义加以展现，呈现给观众的是连续展开的“动作”和“事件”。 浣熊师父冥想之处是一片流水潺潺的幽静处所，放眼望去水天相接，画面中清澈流淌的溪流、平静的湖面、冥想的师父和师父口中的“心如止水”（inner peace）构成了故事的一个又一个动作，构成了一个相得益彰的叙事概念。 水引出了电影中的核心理念——心如止水：思想就如同水，当水波摇曳时，很难看清，不过当它平静下来，答案就清澈见底了。（Your mind is like this water，when it is agitated，it becomes difficult to see，but if you allow it to settle，the answer becomes clear.） 从师父讲解心如止水到阿宝顿悟心如止水，影片自始至终都围绕着乌龟大师这一禅意的临终教诲而展开。
（二）水的互动意义
在电影中互动意义强调的是电影制作者、电影中的角色和观众之间的交际意义。Kress和Leeuwen（1996：117）指出，图像意义的传达是由参与者的凝视系统来完成的，这种凝视表达分为两种：索求和提供。师父在阐释 “心如止水”时，凝视系统表达为提供，他背对阿宝、闭目凝神，没有与任何人的视线接触，手中的水珠为观众提供了“心如止水”的最好的诠释；阿宝跟随水珠的“游动”的视线则是一种索求，对于“心如止水”的被动、茫然的索求。当阿宝完成自身救赎后，他的凝视系统的表达变成了提供，内心的平静使阿宝战胜了自我，手中的水珠滑落到叶片上的瞬间为阿宝最终战胜沈王爷的结局提供了铺垫。
（三）水的构图意义
构图意义是多模态语篇的整体布局、叙事安排。就电影而言，构图意义通常是指观众获取的对电影的整体印象。构图意义有三种资源：信息值、取景和显著性。信息值是通过元素在构图中的放置实现的，各种元素在构图中的位置体现出不同的信息值。重要信息在取景时通常被前景化，从而突出其显著性。电影可以利用多模态手段使某些元素前景化，前景化的模态可以引导观众的认同方向。元素放置位置的不同决定其在画面中的角色。通常，处于中间位置的元素是要被凸显的，而位于边缘的是被弱化的。
影片中水多次被置于中间位置加以凸显其信息值。在寂静的山间，静水之畔，谈及乌龟大师临终的教诲时，师父并没有急于解释，影片中镜头一转，原本被弱化的洞壁得以凸显，从龟头状的岩柱底滴下一滴水，仿佛乌龟大师生命无声的延续。师父以柔缓的太极招式将落下的水珠导入进自己的气场，然后顺其气，就其势，虽不变其形却能以己意换其所向，随后把水珠轻轻顺着叶片送入水池。在这一场景中水珠始终占据凸显的位置。中国文化中，太极是与水和大自然联动很多的功夫。片中水珠与太极功夫的结合充分体现了中国文化中水和太极功夫的共性：刚柔并济，以柔克刚。水珠引出师父对于功夫真谛的诠释——只有心如止水，功夫方能登峰造极，功夫高手内心的强大远胜于武功的出神入化。
阿宝在羊仙姑处疗伤时，眼前前景化了的湖水成了一面反映过去的镜子，滴下的雨水则成了开启阿宝对过去的记忆的钥匙。最终，阿宝顿悟师父的教诲，他像师父一样以心为轴，用一臂一脚作圆，将落下的水珠导入进自己的气场。水珠如同太极图，半阴半阳，半暗半明，半凹半凸。阿宝以太极功夫的方式整合了自我，超然了自我，完成了“见性”；用水珠完成
了对自身的救赎，顺其气，就其势，换其所向，这正应了羊仙姑那句话：“你人生故事的开头也许充满坎坷，不过这并不影响你成为什么样的人。关键看你后来的人生路，你自己选择怎么走下去。”（Your story may not have a such happy beginning，but that doesnt make who you are.It is the rest of your story，who you choose to be.）
Kress & Leeuwen（ 1996）认为被置于上方的因素是“理想的”。大战沈王爷时，内心平静的阿宝眼中的炮弹也变成了水珠，水珠再一次前景化，被置于阿宝头部的上方，得以凸显，从而说明心如止水的重要性，表现了阿宝内心真正的强大。
三、结 语
语言系统在意义交换过程中发挥着重要的作用，同时作为电影的重要因素的图像、音乐、颜色等其他符号系统在信息传递和意义构建中也同样产生至关重要的效果，从而使观众对影片意义的解读更加全面、更加准确。
影片从头到尾以水贯穿故事的发展：水边师父对于功夫的真谛的解释对于阿宝来说如对牛弹琴，“心如止水”的境界超越了阿宝的认知范围，但却为故事的发展和高潮埋下了伏笔；阿宝被羊仙姑从水中救出后通过自身的救赎，真正理解了“心如止水”的真正禅意，功夫的最高境界是以静制动、天人合一。只要静下心来，一切皆有可能。去除了所有杂念，正气凛然，自然他也就参悟了功夫的真谛，参悟到功夫的至高境界，做到了师父教他的“静下心来”，一旦心如止水，他的功夫发挥出超乎所有人想象的力量，以至柔太极，对付至刚炮弹。水的禅学意义自然而发，顺其自然，水到渠成。
