4.never too...to是对too...to的再否定,表示肯定。例如:It is never too late to give up prejudices.
5.not…without… One cannot live even a few minutes without air.
The story was nothing if not interesting.

There is no question that Mr. Smith is the boss.

________well,this kind of car is popular among many young ladies.
A To drive B Driving C Drive D Driven
1 When did the accident occur? ○
2 Ice-cream always goes well in hot weather. ○
1 Class begins at eight. ○
2 The meeting ended up with warm applause. ○
1 The machine runs well. ○
2 His voice records well. ○
4. read,write,translted,drive
1 The book sells well. ○
2 My pen writes smoothly. ○
3 The play reads more earily then acts.
act,cut,break,wash,wear,cook,lock,sell,tear,keep,feel,born,strike,last等。
1 His car can’t move. eg. ○
2 This door can’t lock. ○
look,smell,taste,sound,feel,prove,appear,turn out等。
1 Good medicine tastes bitter. eg. ○
2 When he said proved (to be)correct. ○
3 The flowers smell sweet. ○
4 Young sentence doesn’t sound right. ○
1 The meat is cooking. ○
2 The book is printing. ○
1 She is to blame. ○
2 The house is to let.(此房出租) ○
1 The building under repair is our library.
2 Color television sets will be on sale here next month.. ○
类似的介词短语有:under consideration, in design, in question(正被谈论的),
in sight, on display, out of repair, under construction, under treatment, under investigation等。应注意的一点就是个别介词短语的被动含义取决于冠词的使用与否,如介词短语 in the possession of和in the charge of,用冠词时表示被动意义,不用冠词时(in possession of和in charge of)则表示主动意义。
1 It is in the exclusive possession of him.
He is in possession of it.
2 The children are in the charge of Aunt Li. ○
She is in charge of the third class.
? 主语+系语+(easy/hard/difficult/comfortable)+to do
1 This house is comfortable to live in. eg. ○
2 The maths problem is difficult to work out. ○
3 She is easy to get along with. ○
1 This film is well worth seeing again. eg. ○
2 This problem is worth considering. ○
? 主语(物)+needs+doing
1 The classroom needs cleaning. eg. ○
2 Your watch needs repairing. ○
