We have been exporters of wool for more than 20 years.

2.如果你们的价格合理,我们相信我们之间能达成大量的交易。 If your price is in line,we trust important business between us can materialize.

3.如果你方认为我们的报价可行,请即来信,以便我方报实盘。

If you find our quotation acceptable /reasonable, please send us an immediate reply so that we could make a firm offer.

4.我们对从你方进口化工产品很感兴趣。

We are interested in importing your chemicals.

Lesson3

1.这家咖啡零售商举出贵方名字作为资信征询人。

The coffee retailer has given us your name as reference.

2.兹通知你方该公司主营农产品进出口,资信情况良好。

We are informed that you mainly handle both the import and export of agricultural products and have a good credit and financial status.

3.该公司资信情况不明,建议与其交易时采取谨慎态度。

The credit and financial status of the company is not clear . We advise that you should be careful when you establish business relations with them. (We advise that you should take a cautious attitude on the business)

本公司是拉各斯最大的缝纫机进口商之一。我们经营各种牌号的缝纫机已有二十余年了。我们热切地希望与你公司建立业务关系,发展我们两国之间的贸易。

随函附上第303号询价单一纸,盼望你方早日给我们报拉各斯到岸价,包括我们的佣金5%,报价时请讲明最早交货期和可供数量。为了便于我们了解你们的产品,请你们立即航空邮寄目录十本。

We are one of the largest importers of Sewing Machines in Lagos. We have handled all brands of Sewing Machines for about 20 years. We are keen to establish business relations with you and promote both trade.

We are looking forward to quoting us your price CIF Lagos early, inclusive of our 5% commission, stating the earliest date of delivery and quantity available. 1)手拣去壳花生每公吨成本加运费到欧洲主要口岸价1800美元,实在太高,无法成交。

2)近来美国花生的成本加运费到欧洲主要口岸价每公吨仅折合1700美元,供应量很大,可以随便购买。

3)要求减到与此相接近的水平,十月船期。

4)核桃仁递价每公吨2500美元。

5)要求告知核桃仁的船期和包装情况。

6)若同意上述递价,速来函确认。

The price of Groundnuts, Hand-picked ,Shelled and Ungraded at USD 1800 per metric ton CFR European Main Port is too expensive to close the deal.

Recently, the offer for the peanuts from American is equivalent to USD1700 per metric ton CFR European Main Port, which is

1.我们高兴的随函附上下列规格的车床五十台的形式#5@p一式三份。获得进口许可证的请即发电子邮件告知我方以便备货。 We have much pleasure in handing you herewith our Proforma Invoice for the following specifications of 50 lathes in triplicate. As soon as the Import Licence is approved,please mail us in order to prepare the commodities.

2.我们的一个客户要求我们从你方取得下列规格的电子玩具的最好发盘。

One of our clients requested us to obtain from you the best offer of the electronic toys for the following specifications.

3.一旦我们获得电子产品的进口许可证,就开立以你方为受益人的信用证。

As soon as the Import Licence is approved, a letter of credit will be opened in your favour.

4.如不能接受我方印花棉布的报价,请告知你方的最高出价。 Please inform us your highest bid, if you can't accept our quotation of the Printed Cotton.

Lesson11

1.由于此项商品需求量大,请尽快回复。

As the product is in great demand ,please reply as soon as possible.

2.我们认为难以接受你方所报价格。

We are of the opinion that it's difficult for us to accept your quotation.

Lesson12

1.你不知道我们是多么渴望与你方扩大业务。

You don't know how desirous we are to expand the business with you.

2.如果你我能各让一半,交易是有可能的。

The trade is possible, if we could meet each other half way.

3.我们对你方产品的质量是从不怀疑的。

We never doubt the quality of your goods.

4.我们必须指出由“红星”轮运来的货的质量不符合合同规定的标准。

We must point out that the quality of the goods ex s.s. "Red Star" does not measure up to the contracted standard.

Lesson13

1.我们并不否认我们的花生价格较印度的略高一些,但两者的品

质如此悬殊,根本无法比拟。

We don't deny that the price of our peanuts is slightly higher than that of India ,but the difference in quality should ,in no case,be compared with.

2.你方的信用证必须在本月的二十五日以前到达此地,否则我们无法赶装“东风”轮。

Your Licence of Credit should be arrived before 25th of this month, or we can't catch up with s.s. "Dongfeng".

3.花生行市目前见疲,除非你方能降价5%,否则无法达成交易。 The market of peanuts has been declining at present, we can't close the business unless you make a reduction of 5%.

4.我们不否认,你方产品的质量比日本货优良,但价格无论如何不能达到20%.

we don't deny that the quality of your articles is superior to that of Japan but the difference in price should,in no case ,be reached 20%.

Lesson14

你方十月一日有关上述商品的来信已收到,我们感到十分遗憾你方没有接受我方的报盘。

我们必须指出,你们的还价明显偏低。我们所报给你方的价格完全符合当前的行市,并且已被很多客户所接受。为了你方的利

益,我们同意把我们的报盘展期到本月底止,并建议你们立即确认。

Dear sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter of 1st October about the above goods. We feel regretful that you haven't accept our offer.

We must point out that your counter-offer is obvious on the low side. The price we offered is in line with the price ruling at the present market, which has been accepted by many clients. In view of your profits,we agree to hold our offer open till the end of this month and suggest your confirmation by return. Yours faithfully,

Lesson15

你方七月一日函悉。我们遗憾地获悉,你方不能接受我们的报盘,因为其他供货者在报较低的价格。

虽然我们的愿望是和你们多做交易,但你们的还价我们歉难接受,我们最多只能做到把原报价格减去百分之五。

我们怀疑其他供货者所报货物的品质是否和我们的相似,我们希望你们的客户能注意到这一点,并请你们说服他们要考虑的不仅是价格,更重要的是质量。

盼早日收到来信。

Dear sirs,

We are regretful to learn from your letter dated 1st July that you can't accept our offer because of the lower quotation offered by other suppliers.

Though it is our hope to make more business with you, we regret that we can't accept your counter-offer. The best we can do is to make a reduction of 5% in you previous price.

We doubt that whether the quality offered by other suppliers is similar to ours or not. We hope your clients could direct the attention to the point and you could persuade them to consider not only the price but also the quality.

3.一旦有新货,我们一定与你们联系。

We must contact you as soon as the fresh goods arrived.

4.目前我们订货已满,你们是否与我们上海分公司联系,该公司

也出口类似产品。

We are fully committed, would you please to contact our Shanghai Branch which exports similar lines.

5.我们借此机会向你方在推销我们产品方面所做的努力表示感谢。

We would like to take this opportunity to appreciate your efforts in pushing the sale of our products.

6.我们不得不指出,你方报价太高,难以在此价格上达成交易。 We have to point out that your quotation is too high to close the deal .

7.很抱歉,由于原料不足,我们目前不能供应你方所要的产品。 We feel regretful that we can't supply your requirements of products because of the inadequate raw material.

8.为了达成交易,我们愿意与你方各让一半。

We would like to meet each other half way in order to close the deal.

Lesson17

1.我们的报价相当合理,并已为你地其他客户所接受。

Our quotation is quite reasonable ,which is accepted by the other clients in your area.

2.我们已与你地其他买主按我们的价格成交了价格。

We have closed the deal with other buyers in your area at the price we offered.

3.报给你方的价格是很实际的。很抱歉,你方还盘不能接受。 The price we offered to you is realistic. We regret that we can't accept your counter-offer.

4.你方必须降低百分之二左右,否则没有成交的可能。

It is impossible to close the business unless you make a reduction of 2%.

5.至于男式皮鞋,我们盼望能够按接近我们的价格达成交易。 As to Men's Leather Shoes, we look forward to closing the deal at the price close to ours.

6.我们必须强调一下,耽误装运对我们将来的贸易是不利的。 We must stress that the delay of shipment is not good for our future trade.

7.因制造厂接到订货太多,我们只能答应三月份装船。

We have to agree to the shipment in March , as the maker has received so many orders.

8.订货太多,到年底交货的产品都已售完。

The products which will be delivered at the end of this year have been sold,because of excessive orders.

你方三月十五来信和五百台拖拉机的订单已收到,谢谢。

接信后我们立即和制造厂联系,厂方答应接受订货,从明年一月起每月交一百台,我们已于今晨与你方联系,询问你方是否同意。 如果你方对其他农业机械有需要的话,请毫不拘束地来信具体询价,我们自当迅速办理。

Dear sirs,

We thank you for your letter dated 15th March and the order of 500 sets tractors.

We have contacted the manufacturer immediately after receiving your letter. The manufacture has agreed to accept the order and sent 100sets every month from January of the next year. We have contacted you in the morning to enquire whether you agree with it or not.

If you are in need of other agricultural machines,please send the specific enquiry to us freely. We will deal with it promptly.

Lesson18

1.如果你们现在不能供应“永久”牌自行车,请报你们可以从库存中即装的任何牌子的自行车。

If you can't supply the Forever Brand Bicycles at present, please quote any other brands of bicycles which can be shipped in stock.

2.由于大量承约我们不能接受新订单,但一旦新货源到来,我们将随即发电子邮件与你方联系不误。

We can't entertain any fresh orders owing to heavy commitments. As soon as the fresh goods arrive ,we will contact you by e-mail without delay.

3.我们相信你方很容易在你方市场上销售五千双男式皮鞋,因为我们的皮鞋在你处市场上早已是热销商品。

We believe that it's easy for you to sell 5000 pairs of Men's Leather Shoes in your market ,because our leather shoes have been enjoying fast sales early.

4.倘若你方没有蝴蝶牌缝纫机现货,请报可以立即装船的燕牌缝纫机或者别的牌子的现货。

If you can't supply Butterfly Brand Machines in stock, please quote Swallow Brand Sewing Machines or other brands which can be shipped in stock.

Lesson20

1.请你们注意信用证条款必须严格与我销售确认书的条款一致。 Please note that the items of the L/C should be equivalent to those of our Sales Confirmation.

2.兹复你们十月二十三日来信,我们抱歉不能接受你方所报机器的价格,如果你们能够设法降价5%,我们相信成交颇有可能。 In reply of your 23th October letter , we feel regretful that we can't accept your quotation of the machines. We believe that it's quite possible for us to conclude the transaction if you can see your way clear to make a reduction of 5%.

3.经过长时间友好的讨论,现已达成了一笔50,000条床单的交易。

We have concluded a transaction of 50000 pieces of bed sheets through a long friendly discussion .

4.现随附我方销货合同第HN768号一式二份,请查收。如审查无误,请签回一份备查。

Enclosed you will find our Sales Contract NO.HN768 in duplicate and have a check. Please countersign and return one copy to us for our files if there are no mistakes.

5.请放心,一旦收到你方信用证,我方将尽早安排第一艘便轮装运。

You may rest assured that we will arrange for shipped with the least possible delay by the first available steamer upon receipt of

your L/C.

Lesson 21

1.我们将在本周内开利出以你方为抬头的,不可撤销的信用证,凭即期汇票付款。

We will open an irrevocable letter of credit in your favour,payable by draft at sight, this week.

2.你们的不可撤销的信用证已及时收到,我们相信下周内可以安排装运。

We have duly received your irrevocable letter of credit and believe that we could arrange for the shipment in next week.

3.我们今天已由伦敦中国银行开立以你方为抬头的信用证计50000英镑。

We have opened the L/C in your favour through the Bank of China, London today and the amount is GBP 50000 .

Lesson22

1.现随函寄上销售合同一式两份,请签退一份,同时告知我方装货要求,以便照办。

Enclosed you will find our Sales Contract in duplicate, please countersign and return one and inform us of the requests of shipment to your satisfaction

2.从你方本月一日来信我们高兴地看到你们的客户愿意按我们的条款接受一百套作为试购订货。

With your 1st of this month letter, we are pleased to find that your clients are willing to accept a trial order for 100 sets as per

our items.

3.我们昨天去电确认你方订单,希望尽快开来信用证。

We sent the letter to confirm your order yesterday and hope the L/C will arrive as soon as possible.

Lesson23

1.我们已与十五日通过东京的中国银行给你方开出信用证1785号。

We have opened the Letter of Credit NO.1785 through the Bank of China, Tokyo on 15th .

2.随函附去我方已签署的合同1454号,请你方尽早安排装运。 Enclose our signed contract NO.1454, we hope that you could arrange for the shipment as soon as possible.

3.请告知你方最早装船日期,以便我方及时通过中国银行给你方开出信用证。

Please inform us of the earliest date of shipment so that we could duly contact the Bank of China to open the L/C for you .
