Friendship

Children's friendships are at the center of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Tom's family — Aunt Polly, Mary, and Sid — does not always appreciate him and does not figure into his rich imaginative life. However, Tom's friends — Joe Harper and Huck Finn in particular — look up to him precisely because he is so imaginative and adventurous. The boys see each other as they want to be seen, and together they create an exciting world of intrigue(阴谋) and adventure. The friendship between Tom and Huck especially is highlighted in the novel. Tom admires Huck for his freedom from adults' rules, and he knows that his association with Huck makes him appear daring, an image he relishes. Tom also cares about Huck, concerned that he is alone in the world. When the boys return from their pirating adventure to attend their own funerals, Tom and Joe are smothered with affection by their families while Huck stands awkwardly alone, with no one to welcome him home. Tom points out to Aunt Polly that "it ain't fair. Somebody's got to be glad to see Huck." Tom and Huck share

The adventures of Tom Sawyer

I have already read the book called The adventures of Tom Sawyer, because I was advised by my best friend. The adventures of Tom Sawyer was written by Mark Twain in 1876.Although the book has been written for ages, it is also read by many young people around the world today. So it is very popular and great.

The adventures of Tom Sawyer is a story of Tom Sawyer and his friends adventures of looking for the treasures. Tom lived in the quiet street of St Petersburg, Missouri with his aunt Polly. Tom always plays games with his friends. But he finds himself in many exciting adventures. So he run away with his friends to an island in the middle of the Mississippi River to look for some treasures. Finally, they found a box of gold in a cave.

My favourite scene in the story is when everyone thought Tom was dead. He decided to go to his own funeral. So he hid and watched for a time and suddenly he appeared. Everyone was surprised to see him but they arte also pleased to see him alive. The themes of the story are to do with children’s growing and becoming more serious. Finally, it talked about freedom, social rules and how people are punished for bad behaviour. And although it’s only a story, Mark Twain wrote it in the everyday English of the southern states of America in the 19th century, so it sounds very real.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Recently I read a book which is called “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”.It is one of the best known novels by the famous American writerMark Twain. It is a story of a clever boy called Tom Saywer.

Tom Sayweris a naughty boy, he does not like study in the school or get up in the morning. Which he likes are fishing, swimming and having adventures with friends. His adventures are interesting but dangerous.

I think it is Tom Saywerthat made the book become a classic work. Tom is a naughty boy, and he is a brave boy, too. He always encourages his friends when they are in trouble. And he always tries his best to help other people. He is a hero in some degree. Form this story, I realized that we are supposed to be kind and we should help our friends. Or we will be punished by God ,just like InjunJoe, who starves to death in the cave.

篇六 :A Review of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer(汤姆索亚历险记读后感)

A Review of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was written by Mark Twain, in which tells us a story about a growing process of Tom Sawyer from a young boy to a responsible man, and some interesting stories about his friends, family, love with him. Tom is an innocent, imaginative, adventurous boy. For him, nothing can tie himself as if he is born to be a hero. Then I will express my feelings and thoughts for this novel in the relationship between Tom and Aunt Polly.

As this novel said, “He ’pears to know just how long he can torment me before I get my dander up, and he knows if he can make out to put me off for a minute or make me laugh, it’s all down again and I can’t hit him a lick. I ain’t doing my duty by that boy…poor thing, and I ain’t got the heart to lash him, somehow. Every time I let him off, my conscience does hurt me so, and every time I hit him my old heart most breaks…and I’ve got to do some of my duty by him, or I’ll be the ruination of the child.”(the internal monologue of aunt Polly, parts from the chapter one). Although Aunt Polly is not Tom’s real mother, she really loves and cares him. She does not want to punish him from the bottom of the heart, but for Tom’s future, she must do

The Adventures of Tom Sawye

This term I read the book named The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. It was written by Mark Twain, one of America’s most beloved humorists and storytellers.

When talking about Twain’s most famous novels, Hannibal is the focus of all the topics. Hannibal, a small Mississippi River town, which would become the model for St. Petersburg, the fictionalized setting of Twain’s two most popular novels, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, in general, is a significant literary departure for Twain. Twain toned down the large-scale social satire that characterized many of his earlier works, choosing instead to depict the sustained development of a single, central character. Originally, Twain had intended for the novel to follow Tom into adulthood and conclude with his return to St. Petersburg after many years away. But he was never capable to get his hero out of his teens, however, and the novel ends with its protagonist still preparing to make the transition into adult life.
