Ok, now my lecture has three parts. The first one is the history of traveling. The second is the ways of traveling and the last one is the impact of traveling.

Ok, it seems that traveling is a recent invention, but as a matter of fact, traveling exists since ancient times. And traveling activities rise in China as early as 22 century B.C. In the late Ming dynasty, a famous geographer and traveler—Xuxiake.When he was 22, he began traveling through all over the country. After 30 years, he traveled most cities and sight spots of China. The next one, Marco Polo, a famous traveler from Italian, his famous book ”The travels of Marco Polo” contains a large amount of information about an unknown world and its nations, have been described the flourish of Yuan dynasty.

In the year 1893, James Hilton described an eternally peaceful and quiet place among mountains in the East—— "Shangri-La" in one of his novels for the first time. In the novel "Lost Horizon", an English diplomat Conway and his brother Gorge scattered the English citizens and helped them leave the dangerous region. On their way home,their plane washijackedand fell down into the mountain in the Tibetan region. Some lucky survivors were taken to Shangri-la where Conway found lots of fantastic things in such a state founded nearly 200 years ago, in which the local people lived up to more than one hundred years old and lived peacefully and harmoniously with the other people, animals and everything here. The place was called "Shangri-La" by the local folks.

James Hilton located "Shangri-La" in a mysterious valley which was surrounded by snowcapped mountains; near where there were snow-clad peaks, blue lakes, broad grassy marshlands, and lamaseries, Buddhist nunneries, mosques, Catholic Church, the human beings and the nature were in perfect harmony, several religions and varies of nationalities exited at the same time; the temples looked splendid in green and golden; though people contacted the outer world by caravan for a long time, many foreign experts and scholars had come here to investigate and remained much relics……

Good morning everyone, today, I will introduce something about travel.

As we all know, before we go traveling, we should make a careful plan. First, we should choose the place. There are four choices, the natural spot, the historic site, the countryside and big cities. Then we should plan how many days we travel, only several days or more than a week.

After we choose a place, we should choose the traffic to go travel. If the way is not very long, we can travel on foot, it is safe and easiness, but you should take enough food and water. If you have a car, you can drive it of course, it will be very exciting and you can enjoy the roadside scenery. If you travel abroad or a long distance, you can travel by ship or by plane.

Travel is very good for us. It can widen our knowledge of geography and the knowledge of cultures. And we can experience the lifestyles of different places and countries. What’s more, we can see many different beautiful scenery and it will be a good memory . Well, travel is take exercise and it can build up our body. We can make many different friends through traveling and it is a good way to free our life and relax after busy work and study.

Travelling

Hi, every one. I’m Cindy. Today my topic is travelling.

I love traveling to different places because I am interest in the culture and the view of every place. My grandfather is an architect, so he needs to go to many different places to study. When I was a child, my grandpa always took me with him when he traveled, so I could visit many places. I think I am very lucky for this. Maybe because of this, I love travelling.

First I will talk to you about three cities that I have been to.

The first city I want to talk about is Sanya——a hot city from south of China. I went there when I was in a primary school. Sanya is part of Hainan Province. The weather there was really very hot. People always took a parasol with themselves. The sea in Sanya was very beautiful and the sky was really blue. I stayed in Sanya for only four days because of too much homework. That is really a pity for me. I think I will visit there again someday.

Travel Gives Me A Lot

女士们、先生们：

晚上好！

很高兴见到你们。我是城东中学八年级八班的谢涵歌，我今年14岁，很荣幸有机会参加这次英语演讲比赛，对我来说，这是一次难得的锻炼英语口语的机会。

我兴趣爱好广泛，例如阅读英文小说、游泳、旅行等。我最喜欢的事情就是去旅行。今天我演讲的题目是Travel Gives Me A Lot。

世界上有很多值得去旅行的地方，中国的万里长城、埃及的金字塔、法国巴黎的艾菲尔铁塔、美国的黄石国家公园……

旅行虽然辛苦，但是却能给人带来不少好处。这才是旅行的魅力所在，并令人向往。

旅行的第一个好处是：缓解工作、学习的压力，使精神得到彻底放松! 旅行是在没有工作或学习的情况下进行的，并且是去一个新的地方，因而完全抛开了原来的生活及环境，使精神得到了彻底的放松!

旅行的第二个好处是：给人带来无穷的快乐和幸福! 旅行的过程虽有点累，但其实充满了快乐。看风景、品美食、住宾馆、赏民俗、听故事，哪一样不给人带来无穷的快乐和幸福?一次旅行归来，常常让人兴奋好多天!

旅行的第三个好处是：开阔眼界，增长知识和见闻! 通过旅行，人们不仅可以亲眼观察到美丽的自然和人文景观，还可以了解到各地不同的气候、动植物和特产，亲身体验到各地不同的民风民俗、饮食习惯和

宗教信仰，还可听到各种不同的传说、典故和逸闻异事，让人开阔眼界，增长知识和见闻!每一次旅旅行的，都能给人带来新的新的感受，新的知识和见闻。

旅行的第四个好处是：广交朋友! 旅行一般是以团队进行的。几天或十几天的行程下来，人们由不熟到熟，志趣相投的自然成了朋友。虽然日后不见得有什么帮助，但至少能给人带来快乐和美好的回忆。

我喜欢旅行，在攀登高山的路途中，我学会了坚持不懈；在跨越平原的艰难中，我学会了自强不息；在遇到困难时，我学会了勇往直前。我对生活的热爱，对生命的激情，也是在一次次的旅行中积累。我想，这就是旅行的意义，这也是旅行给我带来的意外惊喜。

As to me,aboutdestination,I prefer to someplace not far away,notcrowded,and with local conditions and customs.Then,addingall these factors together I willpick several places.so I could choose the one I’m most interested in.

After choosing my place,I will procede to search some information about Hotels.There are some hotels I can choose. Youth hotel,LocalGuesthouse,Hanting express and Home inns.generally,I will reserve a dormitory at Youth hotel. Then,Ineed to learn about hotel’s position ,price,internetservice,bath facilities and curfew.Not all the hotels have online service,but you can call the reception dest for reservation.

Next,I should choose the traffic and make my routes. book a round-trip train ticket online.google the map and search for which bus I will take.then make a detailed routes.write these primary information on a memo.
