Hi, everybody. In 1620, a small band of pilgrims came to this continent, refugees who had fled persecution and violence in their native land. The observance recalls the celebration of an autumn harvest centuries ago， when the Wampanoag tribe joined the Pilgrims at Plymouth Colony to share in the fruits of a bountiful season. The feast honored the Wampanoag for generously extending their knowledge of local game and agriculture to the Pilgrims， and today we renew our gratitude to all American Indians and Alaska Natives. We take this time to remember the ways that the First Americans have enriched our Nation’s heritage， from their generosity centuries ago

to the everyday contributions they make to all facets of American life. As we come together with friends， family， and neighbors to celebrate， let us set aside our daily concerns and give thanks for the providence bestowed upon us.

On Thanksgiving, a holiday that is uniquely American, he reminded us to focus on what unites -- our commitment to American ideals like justice and equality and our gratitude and love for our country.

For us, like so many of you, this is a day full of family and friends; food and football.

It's a day to fight the overwhelming urge to take a nap—at least until after dinner.

But most of all, it's a time to give thanks for each other, and for the incredible bounty we enjoy.

That's especially important this year.

As a nation, we've just emerged from a campaign season that was passionate, noisy, and vital to our democracy.

But it also required us to make choices—and sometimes those choices led us to focus on what sets us apart instead of what ties us together; on what candidate we support instead of what country we belong to.

Thanksgiving is a chance to put it all in perspective—to remember that, despite our differences, we are, and always will be, Americans first and foremost.

“感恩”是每一个人都应该坚守的基本道德准则，是做人的起码修养，也是人之常情。

“感恩”是一种对恩惠心存感激的表示，是每一位不忘他人恩情的人萦绕心间的情感。

“感恩”是一种生活态度，一种美德。

永久固定在轮椅上的伟大科学家霍金用他还能活动的3根手指艰难的写出了这样的一句话：我的手指还能活动，我大脑还能思维，我有自己的理想，我有爱我的人和我爱的亲人与朋友，对了，我还有一颗感恩之心。只字片语间，处处都体现他的感恩之心。而为正常人的我们，是不是更需要行动起来呢？不要仅发于口而止于心，学会感恩，将自己的爱心传递下去，让社会充满爱心与良知，更加美好。让我们时刻怀有一颗感谢生活的心，把感恩之心化为感恩之行吧。

感激生育你的人，因为他们使你体验生命；感激抚养你的人，因为他们使你不断成长。下一次你父母的生日，希望你能够清楚的记得，而不是直接又抛诸脑后。哪怕只有一束花，一通电话或者一条短信，那也充满了你的感恩

感激陪伴你的人，因为他们让你感受到了真实的世界。我们都有很多同学和朋友，我们朝夕相处，尽管有摩擦但更多的应该是互相帮助。跌倒时记得伸出你的一双手，遇到争执冷静下来想想过去的互相扶持。尽管只是小事，但是你的感恩之心，会让朋友们倍感温暖。
