1.       Language is a living organism and it is also a tool. It is useless to try to stop language from changing. Just look at how different modern Chinese is from classical texts. Third, as is mentioned in the first paragraph, too many cars may cause air pollution, worsening the present serious situation.

Recently the influence of Internet has attracted much public attention. People worry about the time wasted on it, the damage caused by virus spread on it, and most of all, some violent crimes committed due to the violent games played on it. All these concerns may be reasonable. But if we take a broader perspective, we may find that Internet has had many positive impacts on the modern society.

                                   

Internet has made the access to information more convenient. In the past, people could get information they wanted through only limited channels, such as newspaper, radio, and television. This means that only a certain amount of people could get the information at a certain time and in a certain place. But now with the help of Internet, people can get information any time they want. In a word, more convenient social interaction, personal communication and access to information are the three major changes the Internet has made in the modern society. For them, a Master's degree or even a Doctoral degree represents a much more ambitious goal than a bachelor's degree. In the same way, their lifetime success and interest lies more in academic achievements than in making money.

We have to admit that good-looking people are more popular than people who don’t look good. “A thing of beauty is a joy forever” said Endymion. Second, beautiful appearance can improve one’s chance in the job market and later help one’s career.

Other people think it’s unnecessary to have cosmetic surgery. First, as everyone will become old, outer beauty is temporary. What we should do is to improve our inner beauty. Second, companies will not have a person with a beautiful appearance but no brain.

有些人则觉得整容手术是没必要的。第一，每个人都会变老，外在美只是暂时的。我们所要做的是提高我们的内在美。第二，公司不会喜欢雇用一个花瓶般的职员的。

In my opinion, the meaning of life lies in knowledge and perfection of character instead of seeking temporary outer beauty. But cosmetic surgery is a person choice, having nothing to do with others.

Firstly, online education can save students time. We all know that traditional education require students to go to school or certain place to obtain knowledge. Therefore, students have to spend lots of time on travel between home and school. However, online education can save students lots of time. They don’t have to spend time on traveling to school and home.

第一，网络教育可以节省学生的时间。我们都知道传统教育要求学生必须到学校或者一个固定的场所接受教育。因此，学生不得不花费在往返于学校和家庭之间很多时间。但是，网络教育可以让学生节省很多时间。学生不必花费很多时间在往返于学校和家庭之间的路途上。

Secondly, students can get more knowledge by online education. Students can search for their study materials immediately during break time by Internet. While by traditional education, students can’t find any useful resource in school for they have no access to get the relative knowledge by their limited books.  

第二，学生通过网络教育可以得到更多的知识。学生可以再课余时间利用网络搜寻他们需要的学习材料。但是就传统教育来说，学生不能够在学校的时候得到一些有用的信息因为他们不能从有限的书本上获取一些相关的知识。

All in all, online education not only can save much time, but it can help students get more knowledge than traditional education.

Travelling in vacation has become the mainstream for people to release their work pressure. When it comes to travel, different people have different opinion, some people hold the opinion that Do-It-Yourself tours is the first choice, while others are more prefer to package tour. In my point of view, I fancy the former.

假期出游成了人们释放工作压力的主流。每当说起旅游，不同的人有不同的想法，有点人认为自助游是第一选择，然而有些人更喜欢跟团游，在我看来，我喜欢前者。

 In the first place, if you choose DIY tour, you are capable to select your own itinerary. As we all know, the biggest disadvantage of package tour is that the tourists have to follow exactly the travel agency’s schedule, this is not going to happen to a DIY tour, you are free to stay in the scenic spots as long as you want. If condition permits, self-driving tour would be wonderful, you don’t have to book traffic tickets and wait for time table, you almost can travel to the place whenever you want.

By contrast, if you are in a DIY tour, certainly you don’t have to worry about this problem. It’s your choice to by souvenir or not.

Going to study abroad at young age is not good for young kids.

To begin with, teenagers are not independent enough to take care of themselves. With the publishment of one children policy, most family just has one child. They are the apple in their parents’ eyes. In order to make them live better, parents will do most things for them. How can they look after themselves in abroad? If they go abroad in such a young age, they may under great stress. If so, how can they devote themselves to study? As a result, going abroad for study has no good news. Even it will have bad influence on their little heart.

首先，孩子们还没有足够的独立能力去照顾自己。由于独生子女政策的实行，大多数家庭只有一个孩子。他们是父母的掌上明珠。为了能让他们过得更好，大部分事情父母都会为他们办好。他们怎么能够在国外照顾自己呢？如果他们在这么小的年纪就出国，他们可以要承受很大的压力。如果是这样，他们如何能够潜心学习呢？因此，出国留学一点都不好。甚至对他们幼小的心灵会有不良影响。

In addition, teenagers’ discipline always is not very good. Not many people have a good self-discipline, special in the young age. When the children go abroad, they don’t have parents accompanied with them to remind them what should do and what shouldn’t do. It is easy for them to be attracted by some bad temptation. At that time, no one knows what happen to the kids. In a long time, it may have bad effect on their life.

In general, I don’t think going to study abroad at young age is good for kids to grow up healthily. They need parents around them. They can go abroad when they grow up.

My View on the Crazy of Civil Servants

Recently, there are more and more people crazy about taking part in the exam of civil servant. They regard it as a good salary, easy, stable and permanent job. This is why so many people fight for it. With the increasing competition on job finding these years, the phenomenon that people are crazy about civil servant becomes more and more common. But in m opinion, I don’t agree with so many people to fight for such rare positions.

近段时间，越来越多的人疯狂参加公务员考试。他们把公务员当成高薪，简单，稳定以及长久的工作。这也就是为什么那么多人为之奋斗。这些年随着找工作竞争的日益激烈，公务员热的现象变得越来越普遍。但在我看来，我不不支持那么多人去争那么少的岗位。

On the one hand, it is so difficult to be a civil servant. As the civil servant position is limited, there are many people will be failed in the end. What’s worse, a person maybe fails every time because of the fierce competition. As a result, it will hurt his confidence and waste a lot of his time. This is more kicks than halfpence. On the other hand, not only the civil servant is the good job, in the company also can find a good job. I think if you can use your learned knowledge to create achievement, receive a good pay and get self-development, it is a good job. In addition, civil servant will not be a secure job gradually. Development is more important.

一方面，成为公务员并不容易。由于公务员职位有限，很多人最终都是失败的。更糟的是，由于激烈的竞争，多次参加可能都会失败。结果会伤到自信心也浪费了时间。这是利大于弊的。另一方面，不仅仅只有公务员才是好工作，在公司里也可以找到好的工作。我觉得可以用到所学知识去创造成就从而获得好收入以及自我发展就是好工作。此外，逐渐地，公务员也不是一个保险的工作。发展比较重要。

To sum up, although civil servant is a good job, but there is no need for everyone try their best to get it. There is something better waiting for you.

综上所述，虽然公务员是份不错的工作，但是也不值得每个人为了它而竭尽全力。还有更好的在后头呢。

On the other hand, computer game is full of attractive. Most people do not do well in self-discipline. So they are easily got addicted in it. And then they may play computer games for a long time, making themselves become more tired. As a consequent, they can’t get relax from playing computer games, but also affect their life quality.

To sum up, nothing is good or bad for everyone and all the time. If people can make use of computer games, they will get lots of benefits from it. Otherwise, the result may be not good. So, I suggest people play computer games for a short time, not a long time, and play it now and then, not all the time.

Nowadays obesity has been a very common problem among people, especially among people in the cities. And the diseases caused by obesity have also beleaguered people for a long time. So, how to fight against obesity?

如今，肥胖已经是很普遍的一个问题了，尤其是在城市人中。由肥胖引起的疾病也长期困扰着人们。所以说，如何对抗肥胖呢？

To fight against obesity, many products or machines about loosing weight have been introduced. However, as far as I am concerned, most products or machines about losing weight would bring some side effects to our body. Therefore, to lose weight, the most important point is to find out the main reason for obesity and take action to lose weight step by step on the basic of complying with out body’s needs.

关于对抗肥胖，很多产品和机器已经介绍过关于减肥方面的事情。然而，据我所知，大多数产品或者机器减肥都会给我们的身体带来一些副作用。因此，减肥，最重要的一点就是要找出肥胖的主要原因，并采取行动，根据身体的需求一步一步地减肥。

There are several reasons may account for my view on obesity. First, overeating but lacking of doing exercises is a common reason. In particularly, ingesting too much sugar and fat everyday are more easily lead to obesity. Therefore, to lose weight we need to control ourselves from eating too much, especially eating sugar and fat. Besides, we need to take some exercises appropriately. Second, another reason is irregular work and rest. In modern society, sleep too much or work for too long is quite universal. And this irregular work and rest has a great impact for our health and one effect of it may be obesity. Thus, to have a healthy body, we need a regular work and rest. Finally, disease can also account for obesity.

To sum up, there are various factors accounting for obesity and we need to find out the main one and take action to fight against it. And by the way, we should have awareness of that to fight against obesity needs a lot of time, patience and perseverance.

Why not go ahead with it?

The newspaper also reports that there are some people died or get hurt while they are going to see their net friend. The latent danger of making friends online always exists.

To sum up, as far as I am concerned, making friends online has advantages and disadvantages. People should not afraid of the bad side and then give up a good chance. So I think I agree with making friends on the internet, but they still need to be careful, in case of being cheated.

综上所述，我觉得网上交友有优点也有缺点。人们不应该因为担心不好的一面而放弃一个好机会。所以我赞成网上交友，不过他们还是需要小心，以防被骗。

Come Back Home Often

Home is a warm harbor for every family member. Home always gives us comfort and warmth no matter when we come back. Hence, in return, as sons or daughters we should come back home often to look after our parents.

对于每个人来说，家都是温暖的港湾。不管什么时候，家里总是让我们感到舒适和温暖。因此，作为回报，作为儿女，我们应该常回家看看来照顾父母。

As sons or daughters, we should bear in mind that without our parents, we are nothing. Therefore, we need to keep grateful all the time no matter where we are. In addition, come back home when we are in leisure and accompany our parents as possible as we can. If not, we should usually keep contact with our parents at least.

Depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern, we find that some people hold the idea of living in suburb, while others prefer living in city. For me, both living in suburb and city can live a happy life. But if I have to choose one place to live, I think I will prefer suburb more.

Secondly, suburb is much quiet than city. As city is the economic center, it is very noisy. However, without so much commerce, suburb becomes quiet. It is more suitable for living. Last but not least, it is rare to see traffic jam in suburb. It is well known that traffic jam is a big problem in big cities. And it is hard to solve. But in suburb, people will never need to worry about the inconvenience of going out.

Given the increasing cost of college education and postgraduate education, saving the “lucky money”is at least an economic guarantees for higher education.

The housing price is extremely high that most people can not afford one with their whole life salary. It seems that the cities are on the brink of breaking down.

The second problem is the nature environment of cities. The air pollution, fresh water shortage and noise pollution are worse than ever. In order to have more space to build skyscrapers and infrastructure, trees are cutting down and lakes are land filling. The endless flow traffic makes harsh noise that people even can not sleep well at night. What’s worse, the fog and haze is surrounding the cities, the children can not go outside to play, the people have to put on breathing masks if they go outside. The air of the cities is unbreathable to some extent.

There are also other problems, the crime rate. As competition intensifies, some of the people can not find a job, thus they do some illegal things to make a living. Such as, robbing, stealing, even murdering. We can learn from the news that not a single day passes without the reports of somebody being kidnapped or being murdered. Walking alone at night makes people really nervous.

Should We Ban Internet Slang in News and Formal Documents？

The Internet has become an indispensable part of our daily life as we step into the new century. The Network language is also very popular in our daily communication. The terms such as “ren jian bu chai” for “life is hard, don’t hurt me with the truth”, “dinosaurs” for ugly women, “gelivable” for awesome, “Beverly Hillbillies” for rich men, can be seen in the newspaper or official documents. Some people are worried about that the network languages will have bad influenced on the young people, especially they are in the critical period of learning knowledge and forming their values and temperament. It’s true that some of the Internet slang consists of sexually-suggestive, violence and other unhealthy contents. The young people may easily get influenced by those negative factors. And it do harm the healthy development of language and cultural.

Habits and Changes

Some people love to change, and they look forward to new experiences. For them, following routines is tedious, they always want to do something new to have fun; while some others like to stay the same and make no change. According to them, try something new is risky, and sometimes they cannot even take the consequence of it. In my humble opinion, I think both have its own advantages and disadvantages.

一些人喜欢改变，并期待着新的体验。对于他们来说，按照规矩办事十分无趣，所以他们总是想尝试新的东西，并从中获得乐趣。而对于其他人来说，他们则喜欢保持现状。尝试新的东西是项冒险的行为，况且有时候他们并不能接受冒险的后果。就我个人来说，我想这两种生活方式都有利弊。

For one thing, the people who don’t like to change usually have the personality of steady and calm. If you ever try to make friends with this kind of people, you will find that they will provide you with a sense of security and dependency. However, these kinds of people usually follow a fixed schedule; they don’t like to try new things. They may be quite upset if things don’t go according to plan, in this case, they will lose the opportunities to experience new stuff.

一方面，那些不喜欢改变的人通常有个稳定、冷静的性格。如果你试着这类人做朋友，就会发现他们可以给你带来安全感和依赖感。然而，这种类型的人通常按照规矩形式，并且不喜欢尝试新的事物。如果不按照计划行事，他们有可能会生气。在这种情况下，他们就少了很多尝试新事物所带来的乐趣了。

For another thing, the people who love to change also have advantages and disadvantages. They are willing to try new things, such as traveling to different countries, try a new recipe, or try to learn yoga. So they can broaden their horizon to some extent. They do not afraid of taking the risks and try to enjoy the most of life. But they usually lack of determination and perseverance, it seems that they can do everything; actually, they don’t know anything.

另一方面，那些喜欢改变的人，同样也是有利有弊。他们乐衷于尝试新的事物，例如说去不同的国家旅游，创造新菜谱，学习瑜伽。所以他们能在某些程度上扩宽自己眼界。他们不害怕去冒险所带来的后果，并试着去享受生活。但是他们通常缺少决心和坚持，看起来他们能做任何事情，但实际上，他们什么都不懂。

As far as I concern, both of these lifestyles are impractical, because nobody will stay the same forever, while nobody will always willing to try something new. For me, the ideal lifestyle is somewhere between these two lifestyles. I can live in the way I want to, and try the new ways too.

在我看来，这两种生活方式都不切实际，因为没有人会一成不变，也没有人会不停地改变。就我来说，最理想的状态就是在两者之中找个中间段。这样我就可以过我自己想过的生活，同时也尝试着新的事物了。

In the first place, there is no doubt if parents promise child that they will get the things they want after they are doing good in the exam, children will try their best or every make a breakthrough in study. However, this reward policy might let them have a false consciousness, which the child might think if they are good at something they are certainly get rewarded. They will be frustrated when they don’t have rewards when they go to work in the future, which happens frequently.

第一，无疑如果父母承诺如果孩子在考试中做得好就会得到他们想要的东西的话，孩子就会尽最大努力甚至在学习中有突破。然而，这种奖励机制可能会让他们有错误的观点，如果他们做好了某事，他们就必定会得到奖励。他们也许在工作后做得好却没有奖励而备受挫折，这种事经常发生。

In the second place, it is child’s obligation to have a good remark on their study, if there is a reward exists, their parents had already get them, the tuition. Child can go to school to receive education due to parents’ money, they should learn as hard as they can, but not thinking too much about the rewards. A reward could stimulate the learning desires, but material reward is not necessary, a trip to zoo, picnic, and fairground is enough for child.

第二，在学习中有个好成绩是孩子的责任，如果真要说奖励，他们的父母已经给过他们了，那就是学费。孩子能够去学校接受教育，那是因为父母的钱，他们应该尽其所能的学习，而不是老想着得到奖励。奖励能激发学习欲望，但是物质奖励就不是很必要，去动物园，野餐，游乐园对孩子来说就够了。

All in all, parents should give children more mental rewards, instead of material rewards. Let the children know what real point of their studying is, and have a thankful heart to study hard.

Second, encouraging college students to start their own undertakings is good for our national development in many aspects, such as commerce, industry. How to Ban Drunken Driving?

Drunken driving cases have been increasing and have caused numerous deaths. Some people suggest drunken driving should be made into a felony while others think that tough penalties may not have much effect on road safety. My view is just as follow.

酒后开车的案例不断增加，而且还造成了大量的死亡。一些人认为酒后驾驶应该定重罪，而另外一些人认为严厉的处罚对道路交通安全可能没多大的影响。

As we all know, it is very dangerous to drive while one is drunk. Therefore, drivers shouldn’t drive after drinking in order to protect others’ life as well as their own. So far, the present Road traffic Safety Law seems to show too much mercy to drunken drivers even though they have caused much trouble to the society. A more severe punishment should be given to those who drive after they have drunk, especially to those who are drunk and have caused serious injuries or deaths while driving.

In order to crack down drunken driving, the government should introduce a more severe law.
