Task 1 Underground Railways Systems

The table shows some details about underground railway systems in six cities, namely, London, Pairs, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto and Los Angeles.

London was the first city that opened underground railways systems in 1863, while Los Angels was the last one in 2001. As for the other four countries, all of them opened the underground railways in 1900s.

The route in London is also the largest, approximately 400 kilometers. Those of Pairs, Tokyo and Washington DC are between 100 and 200 kilometers. The lengths of underground railways are short in Kyoto and Los Angeles (11 kilometers and 28 kilometers respectively).

Tokyo with 155 kilometers of route has the largest amount of passengers (1927 millions). It is followed by that of Pairs, London and Washington DC. Passengers in Kyoto and Los Angeles are similar, around 50 millions.

看到很多同学的雅思分数很高啊，所以总分就不献丑了，只说说让我最惊讶的写作。

我考过两次，第一次写作是5分，第2次是6.5分。

当然6.5分也不算高，只是真的很出乎我的意料，因为在第二次考试之前，我连一篇完整的大作文都没有写过就直接上考场了，所以也不存在什么写作功底实质性的提高，那么，为什么有6.5分的突破呢?我自己总结一下，可能比较零散，想到哪里就补上。

1)一定要重视小作文!我就吃过亏的，因为大作文比例大只要求写好大作文就行了。要注意这种观点绝对错误!只有把小作文写得好才能把整个写作分数拉上去。(我想我的6.5很大程度是因为我的小作文)

2)大作文可以不练，但是小作文一定要反复练!我把所有图形的小作文都练过，以防万

一。流程图可以放最后，毕竟遇到它的几率不高。

3)小作文中，对比和趋势并存!也就是说一定要准备好怎么写趋势怎么写比较。同时，也要注意在描述一个数字的时候一定要准确，有没有精确的描述数据也是考官会注意的(我之前也因为数字不重要，随便看看就好了，这是错的!)

4)要准备很多句型，上升下降什么的。注意变换，这里的变换不仅仅是词的变换，同时也是句型的变换，还有各种接数据的方法。建议去上新东方的点题班，我去了之后搜集了好多换句型的方法，考试的时候全用上了。还有，写好小作文，推荐一本书，名字好像是八分雅思作文，就是那个跟雅思考官学雅思系列的。可能刚刚开始看的时候觉得写的很难，但认真研究可以学到很多东西，能吸收多少就学多少呢。

5)开始说大作文，说实话，考完之后我想我的作文大概在5.0到5.5，毕竟小作文感觉还可以，我的大作文是写真的很烂，特别是好多词，什么6分的词我基本上都么有怎么用，完全是简单词汇(可能没有7.0的原因就这里)。但是我听从一个朋友和一个老师的意见，考前问过一个写作7.0的朋友，他说秘诀在于不要用模板!可是，我也很迷惑，不要用模板，我写的完吗?于是，那个老师给我一个非常好用的模板。那个模板的特点是要你临时写的词很多!看起来就不太像模板了。

The water consumption in agriculture was the most (about 500 cubic kilometers) in 1900, which maintained increasing trend until 20## by almost3000cubic kilometers.

However, industrial and domestic use in water stayed stable until 1935, which is followed by a sharp rise during next 65year, reaching 1000 and 200 cubic kilometers respectively. In modern society, more and more people think that the university should not provide so much theoretical knowledge but give students more practical training. However there’s also a lot of people do not agree with them. In my opinion, the university provide student more practical training is very necessary.

First, when people come to university, most of them is more than 18 years old, so they have ability to teach-self. That means student can learn theoretical knowledge mainly by self-teaching rather than by lessons.

Second, in modern society, the practical ability is becoming more and more important. But in school, students rarely have chance to practice themselves. The most of their life is compare with lots of books rather than practical training. Therefore when graduating from university, many students find them can not adapt social working requirement. That makes them frustrated. If this situation happens, it’ll be the failure of high education of the university.
