Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away they were

meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson,or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people maybe (possibly your roommate, neighbor, coworker, long lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger),but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful. and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those

obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.

Everything happens for a reason.

Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.

Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheerstupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they

may be,life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become.

Even the bad experiences can be learned from.

In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you,or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you,but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.

Make every day count.

Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again.

Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high.

Hold your head up because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.

You can make of your life anything you wish.

Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets.

Most impotantly,if you LOVE someone, tell him or her,for you never know what tomorrow may have in store.

And learn a lesson in life each day that you live.

爱的力量 the power of love-心灵鸡汤

Jackie Lantry is a part-time hospital clerk in Rehoboth, Mass. She and her husband have adopted two girls and two boys from China. When Jackie asked her children what they believed in, they said "family."

“It was not therapy, counselors or medications. It did not cost money, require connections or GREat privilege. It was love: just simple, plain, easy to give.”

I believe in the inGREdients[成分] of love, the elements from which it is made. I believe in love''s humble, practical components and their combined power. We adopted[收养] Luke four years ago. the people from the orphanage[孤儿院] dropped him off at our hotel room without even saying goodbye. He was nearly six years old, only 28 pounds and his face was crisscrossed[交叉着] with scars. Clearly, he was terrified[害怕的]. "What are his favorite things?" I yelled. "Noodles," they replied as the elevator door shut.

Luke kicked and screamed. I stood between him and the door to keep him from bolting[门栓]. His cries were anguished[痛苦的], animal-like. He had never seen a mirror and tried to escape by running through one. I wound my arms around him so he could not hit or kick. After an hour and a half he finally fell asleep, exhausted[精疲力竭的]. I called room service. They delivered every noodle dish on the menu. Luke woke up, looked at me and started sobbing again. I handed him chopsticks[筷子] and pointed at the food. He stopped crying and started to eat. He ate until I was sure he would be sick.

That night we went for a walk. Delighted at the moon, he pantomimed[打手势], "What is it?" I said, "The moon, it''s the moon." He reached up and tried to touch

it. He cried again when I tried to give him a bath until I started to play with the water. By the end of his bath the room was soaked[浸湿的] and he was

giggling[傻笑]. I lotioned him up, powdered him down and clothed him in soft PJs. We read the book One Yellow Lion. He loved looking at the colorful pictures and turning the pages. By the end of the night he was saying, "one yellow lion." the next day we met orphanage officials to do paperwork. Luke was on my lap[膝] as they filed into the room. He looked at them and wrapped my arms tightly around his waist[腰].

He was a sad, shy boy for a long time after those first days. He cried easily and withdrew at the slightest provocation[激怒]. He hid food in his pillowcase[枕头套] and foraged[翻寻] in garbage cans. I wondered then if he would ever get over the wounds of neglect that the orphanage had beaten into[灌输给] him. It has been four years. Luke is a smart, funny, happy fourth-grader. He is loaded with charm and is a natural athlete. His teachers say he is well behaved and works very hard. Our neighbor says she has never seen a happier kid. When I think back, I am amazed at what transformed this abused, terrified little creature. It was not therapy, counselors or medications. It did not cost money, require connections or GREat privilege. It was love: just simple, plain, easy to give. Love is primal. It is comprised of compassion, care, security, and a leap of faith. I believe in the power of love to transform. I believe in the power of love to heal.

When the scruffy orange cat showed up in the prison yard, I was one of the first to go out there and pet it. I hadn't touched a cat or a dog in over 20 years. It was an amazing bit of grace to feel him under my hand and know that I was enriching the life of another creature with something as simple as my care. I believe that caring for something or someone in need is what makes us human.

Over the next few days, I watched other prisoners responding to the cat. Every yard period, a group of prisoners gathered there. They stood around talking and taking turns petting the cat. These were guys you wouldn't usually find talking

to each other. Several times I saw an officer in the group—not chasing people away, but just watching and seeming to enjoy it along with the prisoners.

Bowls of milk and water appeared, along with bread, wisely placed under the edge of the dumpster to keep the seagulls from getting it. The cat was obviously a stray and in pretty bad shape. One prisoner brought out his small, blunt-tipped scissors, and trimmed burrs and matted fur from his coat.

People said, “That cat came to the right place. He's getting treated like a king.” This was true. But as I watched, I was also thinking about what the cat was doing for us.

There's a lot of talk about what's wrong with prisons in America. We need more programs; we need more psychologists or treatment of various kinds. Some even talk about making prisons more kind, but I think what we really need is a chance to practice kindness ourselves. Not receive it, but give it.

After more than two decades here, I know that kindness is not a value that's encouraged. It's often seen as weakness. Instead, the culture encourages keeping your head down, minding your own business and never letting yourself be vulnerable.

For a few days, a raggedy cat disrupted this code of prison culture. They've taken him away now—hopefully to a decent home—but it did my heart good to see the effect he had on me and the men here. He didn't have a Ph.D., he wasn't a criminologist or a psychologist, but by simply saying, “I need some help here,” he did something important for us. He needed us, and we need to be needed. I believe we all do.

Prayer for My Mother

by Ann Landers

Dear God,

Now that I am no longer young, I have friends whose mothers have passed away. I have heard these sons and daughters say they never fully appreciated their mothers until it was too late to tell them.

I am blessed with the dear mother who is still alive. I appreciate her more each day. My mother does not change, but I do. As I grow older and wiser, I realize what an extraordinary person she is. How sad that I am unable to speak these words in her presence, but they flow easily from my pen.

How does a daughter begin to thank her mother for life itself? For the love, patience and just plain hard work that go into raising a child? For running after a toddler, for understanding a moody teenager, for tolerating a college student who knows everything? For waiting for the day when a daughter realizes her mother really is?

How does a grown woman thank for a mother for continuing to be a mother? For being ready with advice(when asked)or remaining silent when it is most appreciated? For not saying:"I told you so", when she could have uttered these words dozens of times? For being essentially herself --loving, thoughtful, patient, and forgiving?

I don't know how, dear God, except to bless her as richly as she deserves and to help me live up to the example she has set. I pray that I will look as good in the eyes of my children as my mother looks in mine.

A daughter

Virgo is a large equatorial constellation between Leo and Libra, in which the brightest member is the first-magnitude star Spica. Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac, which the sun enters on or about August 22.

Posefen was a goddess. She was the only daughter of the Greek Goddess of harvest Demeter. Wherever Posefen went, the places would be full of flowers. One day, when Posefen played with her friends in the valley, she found a silver narcissus flower. She liked it and picked it up. Suddenly, the narcissus became a handsome man with purple eyes. Posefen was scared and took a step back. The man smiled and said, “Goddess, you broke the curse and saved me. Please let me fulfill my promise and marry me.” Before she understood what happened, Posefen was thrown into a rift in the ground.

After hearing her daughter’s cries for help, Demeter threw corn away and saved her daughter. However, without the Goddess of harvest, seeds did not grow and human beings would confront a great disaster. Zeus quickly got the news and knew it was Pluto that took Posefen away. Pluto could not win Zeus but he really loved Posefen. He knew he would be cursed and told Posefen, “My fragrance should belong to the world. Take it away.” Then he closed eyes.

When Posefen returned back to the world, it was spring. She scattered the fragrance around the world and brought sunshine to everyone, but she could not forget Pluto, especially his purple eyes. In summer, she missed him, and in autumn, she missed him. When winter came, she could not help meeting Pluto

under the ground. At this moment, Pluto would wake up to see her and then sleep when she left.

Year after year, this pretty girl fell in love with this ghost in the hell. Zeus was moved by their love and gave them a quarter of the time each year to be together. Zeus decided to call one of the constellations Virgo to remember Posefen

Bhutan:Hidden Lands of

Happiness

Once upon a time in a country far, far away lived a most unusual king who proclaimed that in his tiny Himalayan kingdom, "Gross national happiness is more important than gross national product." Although most of us give lip

service to the cliché, "Money can't buy you happiness," in our hearts we believe a big pile of cash can make a sizable down payment and put smiles on our faces. To us, if a country's economic development isn't measured in dollars, it doesn't make sense. So the story of Bhutan sounds like a fairy tale.

Even Bhutan's nicknames—Land of the Thunder Dragon, the Kingdom in the Clouds, the last Shangri-la—evoke a fantasyland. I've come here for a reality check, to immerse myself in Bhutanese culture, to see if fairy tales do come true and people can live happily ever after.

It's not Sunday, but I'm in church, or rather, a Buddhist temple inside our hotel in the city of Paro. The monk is conducting a ceremony, offering us blessings for a safe journey and giving us packages of prayer flags to take along. Their

significance becomes clear a couple of days later when I arrive at Dochula Pass just above 10,000 feet on a fog-shrouded, narrow, no-shoulder highway. Religion isn't just "A Sunday Kind of Love注" for the Bhutanese. Buddhism is part of daily life, the foundation of the culture.

Isolation from the outside world used to shelter Bhutan's unique culture, but that's changing. A 94-year-old local tells me, "When I was younger, I kept hearing stories about big powerful machines called trains that could carry

people quickly over long distances. I wanted to see one for myself, so I walked six days to the Indian border. There I hitched a ride on a truck, which was the first motorized vehicle I'd ever seen, and rode ten hours to see my first train." Bhutan still doesn't have its own trains, but in 1962 it got its first road and in 1983 its first (and only) international airport. Now I'm one of only about 25,000

tourists who find their way here each year. Far greater outside influence arrives via satellites and computers thanks to King Jigme Singye Wangchuck—the fourth Dragon King of Bhutan—having lifted the ban on television and the

Internet in 1999. Will this new technology "bring good things to life," as the TV commercial goes? I can only report that for the half hour I spent watching

people watch TV, the crowd was mesmerized by the latest episode of Bhutanese Idol.

Traveling the country, I visit the village of Kingathang, where a local farmer invites me to try some fresh- brewed arra, the local spirit. He gives me a tour of his home and introduces me to the 12 family members, covering four

generations, who live together under one roof. It is a scene I will see repeated again and again—old caring for young, young helping old, and all regarding it as the natural order. While visiting people in their homes, I also visit monasteries and temples to try to understand the philosophy that shapes the culture and inspires the national policy of Gross National Happiness.

I save the best temple for last, the Tiger's Nest Monastery, nestled 10,200 feet high on the side of a cliff. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche, who is credited with bringing Buddhism to Bhutan, was carried here on the back of a flying tigress. The monastery followed in 1692, built to mark one of the most holy sites in Bhutan. Fortunately, given today's shortage of flying tigresses, I can follow a foot trail to the top. I planned to ask a monk some grand question about the meaning of life. Instead, once I arrived I had more pressing concerns and simply requested a new set of knees so I could make it back down the mountain. I'm

not sure I gained any insights into the secret of Gross National Happiness up here, despite the great view.

Who knows whether the people in the faraway Kingdom of Bhutan will live happily ever after, but for now it's official government policy to foster that goal. And according to people who measure such things, the Bhutanese are in fact the happiest people in Asia and among the happiest in the world. My advice: See this country before it changes. There aren't many places like it. Some of the contentment here may be contagious. A bit of it even rubbed off on a cynic like me—at least for the time I was in Bhutan.

It does not have to be January 1st to give yourself a chance to make the most out of your day — and your life. Every day is a new day and a fresh start to learn, grow, develop your strengths, heal yourself from past regrets or hurts, and move forward older and wiser. Every day gives you a chance to reinvent yourself, to fine-tune who you are, and build on lessons of what you have learned. It is never too late to change things that are not working in your life and switch gears, instead of thinking in the same old ways, hoping for a different outcome.

Be nimble, be flexible, and keep and open mind to start each day anew! Flexibility is the key!

Ask yourself: How do you wake up each day? Do you start your day going already feeling pressured and rushed? Do you go through the morning routine without much thought at all, doing what you "have to do" to start your day?

How about starting each new day with a moment to stop, breathe and think of a positive intention for the day.

Think not just what you want to DO, but how you want to BE today?

Each day is a new beginning and a blankslate. How would you like to create your day? Think of it as a blank canvas — what would you like to paint on it. What can you create? If you wake up in a negative mindset, you are more likely to paint a dark picture throughout the day, and your canvas will not reflect hope, happiness and joy.

If you take each day to think positively, and have a positive intention for how you would like to create your day, how would your life be different? What positive outcome can reflect your positive intention?

What can daily positive intentions do for you? Every day you will give yourself the gift of an "attitude of gratitude."

Visualizing how you would like your day will help release positive energy from within you and you will attract more positive energy from those around you. Instead of spinning your wheels in an old way of thinking, each day is a chance to reframe and re-look at things in a different way.

You can experience each day an awe in the beauty and creation of the world — and the beauty of you who is in it!

You find yourself shifting from an "I can't mindset" to an "I can" mindset.

With a focus on positive intentions, you feel more empowered and more like a "victor" than a "victim."

You are more mindful of the present, and will be more likely to live fully in the present each moment of each day. After all, the past is a great place to visit, but you don't want to live there!

So how about starting each day taking a moment to think of a positive

intention for the day? Each morning, write it down and reflect each evening on how you did!

Here are examples of Positive Intentions:

"Today I would like to replace my feelings of annoyance towards my co-worker to feelings of acceptance."

"I am looking forward today to focusing on what I am grateful for in my life, rather than what is missing, and express gratefulness to others."

"Today I want to slow my life down and take time to savor the moment, especially with my children".

Using each day to recommit yourself to positive thinking and intention will help you create the life you want and that you deserve!

1. Our miserable, detestable, deplorable jobs

If you love your job, great news. If you're like the other 95% of the population, then it sucks. Our jobs, although we may only be there for 40 hours a week, can

feel like a life-without-parole prison sentence. Like with prison, we feel trapped, hopeless, and doomed to a life we don't want.

2. Family stress

Having children is a true blessing and is the most wonderful thing in the world, but can also be and usually is the cause of an enormous amount of stress. Kidnapping, pedophiles, traffic accidents, injuries, and home invasions are all major concerns for any parent, but it's the whining, disrespectful behavior, tantrums, hitting, and lack of sleep that really gets to us.

3. Being apathetic

So many people have seemingly given up on ever having the life they want. Life truly wears them down and out and there is nothing but a shell of a person left. This is unbelievably sad but all too common. These folks are just going through the motions of life without any real direction, passion, or interest.

4. Being ordinary

The world needs more leaders, out of the box thinkers, action seekers, risk takers, and passionate people. What the world does not need is another average Joe living paycheck to paycheck.

5. No direction

With no goals or dreams, how can we expect to achieve anything significant? Dream big and get big results. Dream small and get small results. Don't dream at all and get nothing.

6. Not having passion for something

When someone can find their real passion in life, that should be a

momentousness event for them. Many people will go through their whole life without ever realizing what it is that gets their heart pumping, mind racing.

7. Being selfish

Giving something of yourself without the desire for anything in return is one of the most beautiful things in the world. Our society has taught us a "what do I get out of this" mentality which is breeding a generation of "takers". What we need more of is people who truly understand the power behind selflessness.

8. Not having a release

With the constant stresses life places on us, we all need a release. Finding a hobby, activity, or interest can be a life saver. Take up tennis, join a local business group, or learn another language. Without a release, life will almost assuredly bring you down.

9. Not bettering yourself

Life is about growing, learning, and being a better person. Never trying to improve yourself is a guaranteed path to living a completely average life. Can anyone honestly say they want an average life? Of course not.

10. Being empty inside

If you are walking around feeling like there is something missing in your life, you are far from being alone. Sadly, many people will spend their lives feeling this way. Some fill this void with religion, some fill it by having children, and some even fill it with drugs or alcohol.

He is a mute, Although can understand others speech, Cannot say own actually feeling. S he is his neighbor, The girl who is bound by a common destiny with the grandmother. He really looks like an elder brother, Leads her to go to school, Accompanies her to play, Listens to her chirp with a smile grasps the speech.

Zhuge Liang Pays a Mourning Call

This is a story from Three Kingdoms. Zhou Yu, chief commander of Wu, Was talented and proficient in strategies and tactics but was narrow-minded and intolerant of others. He discussed with Zhuge Liang plans to conquer Cao Cao while simultaneously pondering how to murder Zhuge Liang. Zhou Yu had been wounded by a poisonous arrow when he was attacking Nanjun. Zhou's wound burst when he learned that Zhuge Liang had already taken over Nanjun, Jingzhou and Xiangyang. Zhou Yu, with a healing wound, racked his brains for ways to capture Jingzhou. His strategies, however, were all seen through by Zhuge Liang who even sent him a mocking

message. Zhou Yu was vexed again. "Since You(the Heaven) made me, Zhou Yu, why did You make Zhuge Liang too?" Zhou Yu grudgingly asked before he took his last breath.

Learning of Zhou Yu's demise, Zhuge Liang decided to go to pay respects. Fearing that

Zhuge Liang might be murdered, Liu Bei send Zhao Yun with 500warriors to protect him. Before Zhou Yu's coffin, Zhuge Liang personally offered libation, kneeled on the ground, and read his eulogy. Tears of grief gushed forth from Zhuge Liang. All the generals from Wu were moved. When Lu Su saw Zhuge Liang was in such grievance, he said to himself, "Zhou Liang was narrow-minded and he brought on his own death."

Director Zhao Baogang has a lot to say about youth – his “youth” trilogy about the lives of the post-1980 generation testifies to the fact.

In the 2007 TV series Struggle , the main characters fight to balance their successful careers with a romantic relationship. In My Youthfulness in 2009, a group of young people declare themselves their own masters and design their future.

The final installment, Beijing Youth, which just finished recently, is about revisiting youth and young dreams once again.

Explored from different angles, the mental and emotional pain of growing up is the main theme throughout the three drama series.

In Beijing Youth, four cousins embark on a journey to rediscover their youth. They quit their jobs, leave their parents and Beijing, wander from place to place, earn a living from their passions, find love and realize their dreams.

Zhao uses four characters to cover the entire post-1980 generation: He Dong, a civil servant on a stable salary; He Xi, a doctor, representing the growing bourgeois group; He Nan, an overseas returnee; and He Bei, who fools around without a job, but also wants to find his feet instead of depending on his rich dad.

In Beijing Youth, the stories of these characters are collected along their traveling routes, told through their experiences in different cities, including Yantai, Shenzhen and Lijiang.

During this drifting phase, they go through everything together. While their love stories are touching, what is more important is how they prove that their youth is exclusive and cannot be copied.

As always in Zhao’s work, the cast of Beijing Youth is filled with gorgeous young actors and there are many amusing and memorable lines.

Their road of rediscovery becomes a symphony of emotional collisions and conflicts. It’s where the fun and entertaining part of the series really shines through.

“Youth is a very transient dream. When we wake up, it’s gone, along with all the memories of it,” Zhao said about the TV series in a press conference. “But throughout our lives, we always reflect on what youth has given us and what it has taught us.”

“Everyone deserves a chance to regain their youth, especially young people. Because when you are young, you have nothing to lose.”
