WORK AND PLAY
Hello, everyone! It’s a great honor for me to give a speech here. The topic of my speech is: work and play.
These days, students in our country study very hard every day, especially senior high school students like us. There is always a lot of homework to be finished, not to speak of exams.
Some students think we should do more work, because working hard is the main way to success. Others hold the different opinion that students should have time to play as well. As far as I am concerned, work is not all we have to do. It’s just part of our life. And in a way, work and play do not contradict each other. It is certain that knowledge and skills are based on hard work. But as a saying goes, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Proper entertainments can relieve our stress from heavy work and dispel bad mood. Besides, it can also help us keep healthy.
Some students may ask:” I even don’t have enough time to work, how can I have time to play?” The 10 minutes’ break after class is very important for me. I am bound to seize the opportunity of relaxation, in order to keep energetic next class. By the way, I am against occupying P.E., computer classes to have math, physical classes. Not only can we have 45 minutes to
play, we can also acquire knowledge from these classes.
Well, how can we strike a balance between work and play? First and foremost, we’d better make a schedule so that we can plan our time properly and achieve our goals in life more easily. Next, we should set aside some time to relax every day. There are many ways to play. Doing sports, listening to music and talking with friends are good choices. As for me, I like listening to light music. I think good music can give me power. Last but not least, do not do many things at the same time. When working, you should concentrate and never allow yourself to be distracted. I hope you will strike a balance between work and play, and enjoy your daily life.
Dear friends, I want to share a poem with you:
Work while you work, play while your play.
This is the way to be happy each day.
All that you do, do with your might.
Things done by half are never done right.
That’s all, thanks for your listening.
