What makes a good neighbor?

Neighbors are the people live near us, share community facilities with us. There is no doubt that the importance of a good neighbor to our daily life can never be exaggerated. From my point of view, there are three characteristics that make a good neighbor. They are: good living habit, tolerance and warm and kind heart;

First of all, the good living habit is the key quality that makes a good neighbor. Because everyone wants to live in a clean, quiet, safe environment, and this kind of environment needs the contribution from each of us in the community. Imagine that some of our neighbors live irregularly, stay up very late in the night playing music or having parties. Or some others throw rubbish to public lawn, spilt everywhere they want and even smoke in public place. I think none of us want to live in this circumstance. So I insist that good living habit is the prerequisite character for a good neighbor.

Secondly, Tolerance plays an important role in making a good neighbor. As we all know, neighbors, in some circumstances can be most important people for us. Since we and our neighbors living so closely together, there must be some misunderstandings between us or something make us uncomfortable. For example, we might park our cars in wrong places by mistake and cause trouble for our neighbor. In this case tolerance can calm them down, bring us to a peaceful communication. In the end, misunderstandings can be eliminated so that our relationship with our neighbor can be further strengthened.

Last but not least, warm and kind heart is necessary for a good neighbor. Even if our neighbors are the kind of people who have good living habit and tolerance, they still cannot be described as good neighbors. They may just easy to get along with and live harmoniously with us. But warm and kind heart makes our neighbors ready to help others and share feelings with others. For example, when we are not at home for travel, our neighbors may take the responsibility to help us care for our houses, gardens and pets. Contrary to those with the character of warm and kind heart, we will have to be worried about our home when we out.

In sum, a good neighbor is a necessity for a good live. Many qualities that make a good neighbor, among them I believe that good living habit, tolerance, warm and kind heart that consist the three pillars establish a good neighbor.
