1. Why It Is Difficult ron College Students to Find Jobs?(大学生求职为何难?)

1.描述现状;

2.分析原因;

More and more college students, in recent years, are finding it difficult to find jobs. This may sound strange since college students used to be the "most favored" people in society. They have received a higher education, hence they are more intelligent, knowledgeable than their counterparts who failed to attend college. But chances are that some of them can hardly find jobs after graduating from colleges.

There are two reasons that account for this strange phenomenon. One is that some college students cannot come to terms with themselves and with the world around them. They pursue too high goals and are too

particular about such factors as working conditions, salary, and so on. Therefore, they are reluctant to accept the job when they are offered to them. Another reason is that the majors some students pursue do not match with the demands of the job market. As a result, they can only sit and miss opportunities.

To solve this problem, I think college students should know their own strengths and weaknesses and have the right attitude towards themselves and the job vacancies. In addition, they should not attach too much importance to material aspects of the job. They should put priority to their future development and their contributions to society in stead. Furthermore, they should think of receiving some further training to meet the demands of society.

2. Harmfulness of Video Games(电子游戏危害谈)

[写作导航]第一段可陈述许多年轻人陷入电子游戏不能自拔的现象;

In spite of objections from public opinion, many students can't draw themselves away from video games. It seems that the more they are prohibited from playing the games, the more they are tempted to do so. Many students indulge themselves in playing these games.

Video games are harmful to both the individual and society in many ways. First, they endanger the young people's health. Sitting in front of the computer for hours on end is bad for the player's eyesight as well as his entire physique. Secondly, they distract the young people%attention from their work and study. Absorbed in the games, the player often forgets to go to work or class. Sometimes even if they are at work or in class, they are still thinking of the games they played or are going to play after work or after class. As a result, they quickly fall behind others in their work and study. Thirdly, they lead young people to moral degradation. Some young people are especially interested in games that are filled with violence. If they play these games a long time, they may also settle disagreements through violence, which may give rise to higher crime rate.

Therefore, it is time we took effective measures to solve this problem. On the one hand, young people should be made fully aware of the danger of video games. On the other, illegal video game houses should be eliminated, and software producers should be encouraged to

make more beneficial video games in the future.

3. The Pressures on Collese Students(大学生面临许多压力)

Many college students say that they are facing so many pressures in their lives that they are on the go from morning till night. What, then, are the pressures on college students?

There are generally three kinds of pressures on college students. The first pressure comes from the students themselves. In order to become top students and to win a scholarship, many students spend more time on studying but less time on recreation or rest. The second pressure stems from their peer groups. Finding that their classmates are staying up late, many students will feel guilty if they do something else. They think the only way to overcome the fear of being left behind the others is to study even harder. The last pressure derives from the competition in finding a

job after graduation. There is a sharp increase in the number of college graduates in job markets in recent years, making it hard for college students to find jobs. Many students believe that the more knowledge they learn now at college, the more chance they will have in finding a job in the future on the job market.

A certain amount of pressures is not necessarily a bad thing. It stimulates students to make continuous efforts with their studies. However, too much pressure is certainly harmful to one's well being. College students ought to come to terms with themselves and the world around them. Moreover, they ought to learn how to relieve themselves of unnecessary pressures in their daily lives.

5. Pets

提纲

A pet is all animal which is raised or kept by people as a companion. In recent years, more and more people, old or young, rich or poor, like to keep a pet such as a dog, a cat, a monkey and so on.

Pets are loved by people. they not only are good friends to their masters but also become members of the family. Although they are not human beings, their behavior sometimes is better than the human beings, for they always remain obedient and loyal to the master. There are many stories in which we are told that a pet saved his or her master's life or even traveled thousands of miles to return home. This makes them more lovely. Moreover, trained pets are very helpful. For instance, a trained dog can help the blind to walk and a trained pig can even find out drugs from the imports goods.

But pets are sometimes trouble-makers. Some pets such as dogs or snakes may attack people unexpectedly. A lot of people become ill or get infected because of the virus carried hy their pets. And some pets are dirty and poisonous. Therefore, we do not advocate keeping pets.

6. My Ideas on Soores(分数之我见)

1.有人认为分数重要;

2.有人认为分数不重要;

People's ideas on scores vary from person to person. Some think that scores are very important. They think in this way because scores have always been the only means to tell whether a student has a good command of the subject they have learned. To illustrate, they say scores are often used to determine whether a student should go to college or not. Scores are also used to decide whether he can further his study after graduation. Scores are still used to decide whether he can get a job in the job market. Others, on the other hand, holdthat scores are not so important as practical knowledge. They suggest that students with high scores at school are not necessarily competent in their work after graduation. Our society does not need those who can perform very well in examinations; instead, it needs those with practical skills.

I think both of the above views have their limitations. Having lots of

theoretical knowledge without enough practical skills is no good, nor is having lots of practical skills without enough theoretical knowledge. Only when we have a combination of both, can we be called qualified students of new China.

7. Advantages and Disadvantages of Cell Phones(手机的利弊)

1.手机使用的普遍性;

2.手机的优点;

Cell phones have become increasingly popular in China these days. Wherever you go you can see people using cell phones. Many college students, even high school students, have cell phones.

Cell phones have brought people a lot of benefits, but the most important is that they are convenient. With cell phones in their hands, they can keep in touch with anybody they want. If they want to get some information from the Internet, they can easily have their dream realized

via cell phones too. Furthermore, if someone has a heart attack or a traffic accident, a call to emergency hospital or to the police can quickly bring him the help he wants.

However, cell phones can also bring people problems. The most serious is the electric wave radiation which is thought to be harmful to users' brains. Another problem is that when people are having a meeting or having a class or at a concert etc, the ring of the cell phone may interrupt others. So I think people should use cellphones as little as possible and turn them off when they are attending important meetings or attending classes.

8. Why More and More Students Are Absent from Class?(学生何故逃课?)

1.有人认为学生缺课的原因在他们本身;

2.有人认为学生缺课的原因在老师;

Increasing numbers of college students are cutting classes, which has caused a great deal of social concern and criticism. Some think that the larger part of the blame should go to the students. Others, however, think that it is the teachers who should be responsible. But I think both the students and the teachers have fault of their own.

Compared with middle school students, college students have relatively more "freedom". If they are not strict with themselves, chances are that they will oversleep in the morning, go to the Internet or find other activities to entertain themselves during class hours. In addition, some students have the misconception that work experience is more important than theoretical knowledge when it comes to job hunting. So they busy themselves in part time jobs when they should be attending class.

On the other hand, some teachers still conduct classes in the old fashioned way. Their classes are so boring that they make many students fall asleep. Besides, some textbooks are so out of date that they think it a waste of time attending classes.

In a word, both the students and the teachers should be wide awake to this serious problem and make great efforts to use the time at college to its best advantage.

9. The Positive and Negative Aspects of Sports

To a Chinese, the task of learning English well is not easy. So I, like many other English learners, have met with difficulties in learning English during the past seven years. But I managed to overcome them and made much progress.

The spelling and meaning of words can be said to be the first difficulty I met as a beginner. But I found our my own way to deal with them. As to spelling, I never copied a new work again and again to remember it, but tried to find its relevance to the sound. In fact, as long as I can read the word out, I can write it out. As to the meaning, I rarely recite its Chinese translation but often put the word into the sentence to learn its meaning. Moreover, if you use a word quite often, its spelling and meaning will be no problem. After all, we are learning English in order to use it.

Grammar and idioms may be another difficulty. But I have also got over it. I have not read lots of grammar books. But I spent much time reading the articles written by native speakers or specialists in English. By doing so, I came to gain “a sense of English language”. I began to gain a feel for which sentences are “good English” and which are not.

Finally, I want to say that overcoming all these difficulties requires perseverance. In the past seven years I spent at least an hour on English each day. I believe this is an important reason why I am able to make progress in learning English.

10. Why Living Off Campus Is Popular?(校外租房何以流行?)

1.学生校外租房住宿较普遍;

2.校外租房住宿的原因;

[范文]Nowadays living off campus enjoys great popularity among college students. Why, then, do students do so when they are provided with very modern apartments and good services on campus? The reasons can be listed as follows.

First, living off-campus can relieve the student from time consuming and energy consuming trivialities. Since people from different places have different personalities, habits, and interests, etc, some students think

that it is difficult for them to get along with their pals. If they live off-campus, they don't have to spend time worrying about and thinking of how to get along with their roommates. In this way, they will have more time for their studies. Secondly, living off-campus can offer them a lot of freedom. Freed from the regulations of the university, they can do whatever they want in whatever time they like. For example, they can stay up late, reading books or surfing on the Internet. Lastly, living off campus can give them more privacy. If they live in a dormitory, they have no "human rights" so far as privacy is concerned.

I think living off-campus has both its benefits and shortcomings. If we live off campus we will not have the chance to experience the rich and colorful social life on campus. Away from our classmates, we will not have the chance to learn how to communicate with those who have divergent opinions. We will lose the chance to learn to cooperate with others.
