Dear President Qiu,
As someone who is a new postgraduate in this university I would like to give my opinion on our English speaking environment.
It is well known that the key to study one foreign language well is speak more、read more and write more.At the same time,the purpose we learn foreign language is to communicate with foreigners,so the spoken English is the most important skill for us .But there isn’t an environment which is beneficial to practise oral English.
Therefor we should create an English speaking environment.Firstly, we could establish some oral English columns at radio station,for exemple, broadcasting of the news and the the accounts of the matches of NBA in English,and so on.Besides,we should advise the students to speak English in dormitory,canteen,campus and creat more chance to speak
English.Last but not least,we may set up more activities to strengthen the English communication,for exmple,the match of English speaking
ability,the English debate contest,and so on.In this way,there will be more and more students are interested in English speaking.
