教学园地→教学特色 怎样在教学中更加务实,增强我校学生名校申请竞争力?现今出国留学已经成为越来越多的学生展现自我的又一平台,随着中国学生顺利通过申请进入世界名校的人数增多,许多名校的招生标准也越来越严苛。面对这一重点,我校教务团队及留学顾问团队深入研究及拜访并邀众多美国名校招生顾问、心理辅导主任,共同制定及实施我校教务教学工作。

一、多年深入留学领域、制定独特教学理念

1、专注美国

专一美国高中课程体系教育,专注美国大学申请策略。美国校园文化,美国学术氛围始终如

一。使学生全身心的投入美国派的思维、学习、生活、处事之中。做一个?知、行、思?高度统一的准美国大学学子!唯有专注美国大学培养模式,才不会造成让学子在三年学习之中,甚至有很多其他国际高中学校学生在高二下学期仍然彷徨、举棋不定。选择哪个国家大学申请?到底选择什么课程?最终贻误良机!环境对学生有着潜移默化的影响,更多的选择反而对学生有更多的风险。故此,我校只坚持开设美国高中课程,给学生创造纯净的学习氛围。

2、个人诚信

对学生诚信的培养势在必行!在竞争愈演愈烈的当今社会,诚信也俨然成为当今世界衡量的砝码。对想要出国深造的留学生而言,诚信自然是必不可少的,这点对于通过以网络作为材料投递渠道的美国各大院校来说尤为重要,学生投递的资料是否真实,主要依靠学生个人的诚信意识。而一旦发现呈报材料作假,影响的不单单是学生个人,更甚至会损害到家庭成员的名誉。我校针对这一现状,为通过入学测试录取学生注册正规高中文凭,毕业后获得国家教育部电子注册及国际认可的高中文凭,同时提供国际英语考试成绩:托福成绩;国际高考成绩:SAT成绩和AP成绩GPA成绩(GPA-即平时在校成绩,是美国、英国等名校录取标准中起到决定性作用的第一考虑因素)等各种有效证件,充分保证学生材料的真实性与可信度。提供合法、正规的留学途径。

3、语言能力

任何一个国家接受海外留学生,都对申请人的语言能力有所要求。只有具备一定的外语交际能力,才会在当地正常的生活及上课。而美国高等学府对语言能力的要求并不像国内这样单纯的以考试成绩作为衡量标准,留学生的口语交际能力,语法运用灵活程度都在其考核范围内。国内教学,大多侧重于书本知识,很难让学生的听说读写能力得到全方位的训练与培养。而我校的SAT课程教学,以英语外教为课堂主导,充分训练学生听说能力,告别哑巴英语。灵活多变的教学模式,能够充分调动学生的学习乐趣。同时以我国传统的精华教学模式相辅助,在三年的学习过程中,不断地强化与巩固语言基础知识。使得学生既能在SAT测试中顺利获得高分,又不会让沉闷的教学方式打击学生的学习积极性。

4、逻辑培养

SAT主要考察考生的英语及数学,因此数学成绩在留学申请的考评中也至关重要。数学是理科学习的基础,能够培养学生的思维逻辑,判断推理能力。我校的数学及其他理科教师有着多年的教学经验,曾在美国担任资深的职业教师,有着多年的SAT课程培训经验,能根据每个学生的不同情况,因材施教。启发、引导为教学特色,摆脱填鸭式枯燥模式。

二、充分适应学生水平、尊重学生个性的教学

1、精品小班 班级人数平均不超过20人,保证授课教师能够照顾到学生个体的需求,使得学生能够有更多的学习机会,包括展示自己的机会、锻炼自己的机会、交流合作的机会。教师对学生的激励、对课堂学术气氛的把握,使学生主动通过发言和课堂交流深度参与课题,获得最佳的学习体验与学习成果。

2、因材施教

学生根据入学的水平进行分班,教师按照学生的程度进行教学,确保每个班级都能顺利融入

美国课程的学习。同时,我校还为部分学生设有补习课,帮助学生在个别科目上取得进步。

3、语言突破

学生进入课程学习初期少许会出现英语教学适应的困难。为帮助学生突破语言关,我校总结美国课程教学经验,在师资配备上设置了外教和中文助教,帮助学生充分地理解课程教学内容;我校同时每周课余时间特邀众多美国友人开设?The United States the world?讲座,与我校师生交流互动,共同探讨国际大事,金融风暴,美国趣问,美国校园,勤工俭学,社会义工等等。让学生在轻松愉悦的交流中不仅提高了英语能力,还提前掌握了海外生存法则。更重要的是向往,有目标才会更务实。

三、特设升学指导课,帮助学生及家长在充分了解的基础上进行申请

通过升学指导课程,帮助学生及家长充分认识美国名校的综合实力、专业特色、录取标准,指导学生SAT、AP课程选择专业,为学生规划美国大学入学必须的TOEFL、SATⅠ/SATⅡ、AP美国正统标准化考试,帮助学生制定取得考试成绩的时间表。通过这样的全程帮助和指导确保学生能够进入与自己能力匹配的最佳大学和专业。

四、高品质教学培养学生综合素质

我校充分利用公开教学、观摩课、优质课、教学环节检查等方法来强化教学效果。通过创新教学方法,改善教学手段,扩大课堂教学容量和增大练习训练量来提高教学质量,使学生顺利完成课程的学习;通过中西合璧的课程设置与课程实施,努力使学生成为具有独立判断能力的思考者、具备自主学习能力的终身学习者;通过指导与支持学生会及各类学生社团举办活动,培养学生的规划、执行、团队协作及领导能力,使学生成为具有国际视野的积极参与者与主导者。

五、为学生提供人生发展的指导

我校教师队伍的第一原则及信念源于对教育、对学生充满爱心和奉献精神,老师们通过班级学生教育、班会课、特设讲座课程、综合活动以及日常的交往,帮助学生解决成长中的困惑,引导学生逐步明确自己的人生目标,学会?感恩?懂得?自立?,形成健康向上的人生态度。

六、贴心指导 消除代沟

目前就读国际高中的学生,大多数与其父母存在着不易沟通或背叛不服的鸿沟。针对90后学生的特点,我校心理辅导团队积极配合各班班主任做好学生的心理指导工作。学校大多数老师必须住校,全天候及时了解学生学习、生活、休息等状况。确保学生生理心理健康安全。并指导学生真正做个尊老爱幼,孝敬父母,懂得回报,兼具中华民族传统美德及思想卓越敏锐视野的国际化人才。

How to be more practical in teaching, and enhance our students to apply for more competitive schools? These days, studying abroad has opened up ever increasing avenues for students, and as more and more students are successful in their applications to elite schools, colleges have increasingly stringent admission practices. Faced with this point of significance, our education and advisory team undertook an in-depth study, and invited many American elite admissions counsellors and directors to jointly develop our schools education and administration. For many years we have conducted an in-depth field study, to develop a unique teaching philosophy.

1. An emphasize on America We adhere to the American high school curriculum system of study, and we focus on the American college application strategy. We ensure we are consistent with American campus culture, and American college atmosphere. We put students through an American way of thinking, learning, and doing things. We establish a ?knowledge, confirmation, thought? model of quasi-American students. By emphasizing an American training mode, it will ensure that students will not complete three years of study and still be hesitant and indecisive. Considering where to apply to college? In the end, which course will the students have decided? Ultimately, the environment has a greater influence on students and students will have more choice but less risk. Therefore, I insist on a school with only American influences, so the students learn in a pure environment.

2. Individual integrity

It is imperative we train student’s honesty! Competition has intensified in today’s society, but integrity also weighs heavily. If the students wish to study abroad, it is essential that this school as a channel to American universities ensure that the information supplied by the students is honest and true. If the reports are discovered to be inauthentic, it is not only damaging to the individual student but may even damage surrounding reputations, including family and school. Our schools response to this situation is to provide an internationally recognised high school diploma, whilst providing international English test scores: TOEFL, international college entrance examinations, SAT scores, GPA (other schools admission standards play a decisive role in the first considerations), and other valid documents which fully guarantee the authenticity and credibility of the students materials. We provide a legal and formal teaching approach.

3. Language skills For international students in any country, the key question rests on the applicant’s language requirements. Only with a certain level of language competence can the student successfully assimilate into the environment and achieve a normal life in the area. The language requirements are not as simple domestic test scores or standardised language proficiency tests. The students oral and grammar skills are limited to the scope of their examination. Domestic teaching, mainly focused on book culture, make it difficult for students to get a full range of training, writing and culture. Our SAT course with an English teacher-led classroom, adequately trains students listening and speaking ability, as opposed to the writing based domestic method, and thus bids goodbye to mute teaching. While the essence of China’s training gives a foundation which assists in the training process for three years, it continues to further strengthen the student’s ability for the future. It allows students to not only successfully achieve a higher score on the SAT, but also introduces non boring teaching methods which will combat the students learning initiative.

4. Training of rational and logical thinking

The SAT tests candidates mainly on English and mathematics, so learning to apply evaluation skills to maths is crucial. Mathematics forms the basis of science learning, and cultivates the students thinking, logic, judgement and reasoning ability. The maths and science teachers at our school have many years teaching experience, has served as a professional teacher in the United States, has many years’ experience in SAT training courses, and prepares individualised lessons according to the circumstances of each student. The teaching features are meant to inspire and guide the students, and abolish a ‘cram mode’ of teaching. It will meet the expectations of the students and inspire respect for the teacher.

1. The average class is no more than 20 students, ensuring

the teacher can spend individual attention to fulfil individual student’

s needs, so the students will have more learning opportunities, including

the opportunity for exchange and cooperation. The teacher creates

incentives for students to grasp the academic atmosphere of the classroom,

so that the students take the initiative to communicate the depth of the communication issue through speaking to get the best learning experience and outcomes.

2. Individualised: The placement of students is according to the level of students, to ensure that each class can be successfully integrated into the learning curriculum for the United States. At the same time, our school also offers tutoring lessons to some students, to help students progress with individual subjects.

3. Language breakthrough: Students entering the course will initially experience a little difficulty adapting to English teaching. To help students breakthrough the language barrier, I summarise the American experience to the teaching staff and setup Chinese assistant foreign teachers to help students fully understand the course content. In my spare time each week, I invite many American friends friends, opened ?United States and the World? lectures, and interact with my school teachers and students to discuss international events, the financial crisis, topics of US interest, US campuses, social issues and so on. The students will have a comfortable exchange process, not only with advanced English skills but other skills essential to survival of day to day life. It is a pragmatic goal as well as a desire.

The ad hoc tutoring sessions will help students and parents understand the problem fully. The tutoring sessions will help students and parents understand the overall strength of the American elite, professional characteristics, admission standards, guide students SAT, choose the appropriate AP course for the preferred profession, prepare students to achieve high TOEFL/SAT/other standardised American tests, and help the students develop a timetable to study. This entire process ensures the students will receive the ultimate amount of guidance to enter the university best matched to their abilities.

Fourth, there will be a high quality level of teaching for all the students. I take full advantage of public school teaching, observe lessons, and participate in teacher inspections and other methods to strengthen the

teaching effect. Through innovation and improvement in teaching methods, I hope to expand the classroom teaching practice to improve the quality of teaching so students are able to better successfully complete their courses, through the joint curriculum implementation of Chinese and Western curriculums, strive to enable students to become independent thinkers with the ability to self-study and develop the life-long habit of learning. The students are to be organised with guidance and through student support, with various student organisations, students are developing planning, teamwork and leadership skills. This is to enable the students to become active participants with an international perspective and with future leader prospects.

Fifth, to provide students with the guidance of the development of life

The first principle and conviction stems from my school teachers to educate the students with caring and dedication, student teachers foster this through classroom education, class meeting, the ad hoc lecture courses, integrated activities and daily contacts, help students grow. The teacher’s guide the students to gradually clear their goals in life, learn to "Thanksgiving" know how to

"self-reliance", and have a healthy attitude toward life.

Sixth, intimate guide to eliminate the generation gap

Currently for international high school students, there are barriers to communication which result in dissatisfaction. The school

counselling team actively cooperates with the class teacher to keep psychological guidance. Most school teachers must live on campus and be available around the clock to keep in pace with students learning, living, and other conditions, to ensure the students physical and psychological health and safety. Also, the counsellors act to guide students to care for the young, to be genuine, to honour their parents, know how to return, both international talent traditional Chinese virtues and excellent sharp ideological vision.
