基本概况

TOEFL（Test of English as a Foreign Language，作为外语的英语考试——托福）是由美国教育考试服务处Educational Testing Service，ETS）举办的为申请去美国或加拿大等国家上大学或入研究生院学习的非英语国家学生提供的一种英语水平考试。美国教育考试服务处由19xx年开始承办此项考试的管理工作。

“托福”译自TOEFL，中国人称为考“托福”。

仅1988～19xx年度，全世界就有56万多人参加了T0EFL考试，全球170多个国家和地区共设立了1700多个T0EFL考试中心。至今为止，美国和加拿大共有2300多所院校规定，凡是外国学生申请到该校入学学习的，必须提供T0EFL，GRE，GMAT或TSE的某一项或两项标准化考试证明，只有达到学校所要求成绩的报考者，才能取得入学和申请奖学金的资格。除了美国、加拿大等大部分国家的高等院校外，欧洲（如英国）、大洋洲（如澳大利亚、新西兰）以及东南亚一些国家和地区也都已承认T0EFL考试成绩。近几年来，国内的联合国驻华机构和外企及合资企业在聘录用职员时，或国际基金组织在测试职员的英语水平时，也都采用TOEFL考试成绩。

现在，只要去英语国家读书，就必须参加托福考试，作为英语生活能力的证明。但是，目前在托福、雅思等英语培训班学习的学生中，有相当一部分人是从国外回来“回炉”的留学生。经过各外语学校的入学测试表明，他们的英语成绩并不高，说明出国留学并不一定能提高外语水平。老师们普遍认为：语言学习环境很重要，但是艰苦学习是不可替代的，如果再没有好的方法，就算到了国外，外语水平也难以实现飞跃。（以上内容节选自《应用写作》杂志20xx年第3期《领会命题意图，把握两种关系》）

一、 计分体制 自20xx年6月起，四、六级考试的分数在经过加权、等值、常模转换等数据处理后，将报道为均值500、标准差70的常模正态分，不设及格线，取消证书，改发成绩报告单，以利于广大师生和学校行政部门根据本校的教学实际，合理使用四、六级考试的成绩和相关数据。

二、 成绩报道

1、 成绩报道

自20xx年6月考试起，报道的总分满分为710分，各单项分之和等于总分。对总分在220分以上（含220分）的考生发放成绩报告单。凡总分在220分以下者（包括缺考者和作弊违纪者），其单项分和总分均计为0分，不发成绩报告单。 本次（20xx年6月）大学英语四、六级考试各单项成绩的计分如下：听力部分（20%）满分为142分；阅读部分（40%）满分为284分；综合部分（25%）满分为178分；作文部分（15%）满分为106分。单项部分如没有作答或全部答错，该部分成绩计为0分。

考试内容和题型改革以后，将另行公布各单项成绩的计分比例和满分分值。
