With a thin angry face and thin yellow hair, Mary was not a pretty child. Her parents were busy with social doings and didn’t care about her much so she was only taken care of by servants. Being short of solicitude from parents and living in the limited room, she became a selfish, disagreeable, bad-tempered girl. Nobody would like such a girl, but she didn’t care at all. It seemed that she would always be a nuisance and nobody could change her.

Someday a pestilence broke out, which made Mary a poor orphan. Then she was sent to England to live with her uncle, Mr. Craven. When she was there, she was still angry about everything, only good at giving orders to others. One day, with a robin leading the way, she found a secret garden, which was locked for ten years. By accident, she found the key to the door, and when she entered the grand garden, she saw the magic of the nature!

Mary is the leading character in the novel. In my opinion, Mary is kind, bright and warm, she showed her courage when she began to change and she also showed up and brought light and hope to the son of his uncle- Collin, helping him defeat and recover from the illness.

The secret garden talks about friendship, determination and perseverance. It’s filled with the passion and enthusiasm to life. The book tells us something about attitude to life. If you want your life full of successes, you must have a good attitude and good character. It is really a foreign masterpiece as it lets me have feeling very much after read it. By the way, I like the book because it is a happy ending—— Everyone breaks away the secret garden in their heart.

So as a friend, we should find the key to open the door of the secret garden use our love, our heart and let our friends feel warm and happy. Then the garden will be full of love. What’s more, we should open our door of our heart to get on well with our surrounding.

The Secret Garden

Nobody seems to care about Mary. She was born in India, but she lived with her parents in England. Mary never thought of other people, but only of herself. In fact, she was a very selfish, disagreeable, bad-tempered little girl. The city which they lived broke out a terrible plague. The disease had already killed many people in the city, and in all the houses people were dying. Over night, Mary’s parents were died. The few servants who had not died had run away in the night. No one had remembered little Miss Mary. She was all alone in a big empty house. Several days ago, little Mary was taken to her uncle- Mr. Archibald Craven. Mr. Craven was a bad-tempered man and had no friends. He lived in a big lonely old house. There’s a big park round the house, and all kinds of gardens. In her uncle’s home, a little girl named Martha as her servant to help her. Martha was an enthusiasm and helpful girl. The servant girl has a little brother who named Dickon. Brother and sister are so simple and honest. Their warmth made Mary fell relax and happy. Gradually, Mary has made a little change. One day, from Martha, she heard a story. Mr. Craven married a sweet, pretty girl, and he loved her very deeply. The girl had a big garden. There were many roses in it. When she died so suddenly, Mr. Craven locked it and buried the key. Nobody can get in it. So, it’s a secret garden. One day, she took a walk in the ground, she found the key wonderfully. She entered the garden secretly and took care of it with Dickon. In the next few days, Mary spent almost all her time in the garden. The fresh air made her hungry, and she was becoming stronger. One night, Mary heard the crying clearly. So she run out to find who was crying in this house. In a exquisite bedroom, she found a sickly boy-Colin. He was Mr. Craven’s son. Mary thought that Colin was a good boy. So she requested Colin to the secret garden. In this discard garden, Mary, Colin and Dickon had good time. They helped the garden come alive again. What’s more, sunshine, fresh air, flowers and grasses made Colin healthy. In the secret garden, where the roses were at their best, and the butterflies were flying from to flower in the summer sunshine, his head held high and a smile on his lips, walk young Colin.

Recently, I’ve read the book which called “The secret garden”. It’s really very classic and famous, and we can learn many things from it.

From the garden, we can see many changes: Mary changed from a lonely, disagreeable girl into a hopeful and bright girl. So was the garden. It changed from a wild mossy garden into a lively and beautiful heaven. In my opinion, the secret garden symbolized the dream and the hope. Since Mary found the garden, which means she also found the dream and hope. Life is hopeful and full of beauty if we find and observe it. Life is a magic, so the power to change everything is the love for the life, which is the original power of life. Maybe it’s tasteless to you sometimes, but if you observe it, you can find the beauty. Life is not the lack of beauty, but the lack of eyes to find beauty. To sum up, the whole world is a garden which you can always find the wonderful beauty as long as you try.

Book Review of The Secret Garden

How do you feel when you see a garden filled with various flowers and trees growing, with fragrances permeating, birds singing and sun shining? Perhaps you will get a better mood and become much more hopeful about life.

The book The Secret Garden also displays us some virtue through the change of a garden from deserted to vibrant. Mary, a bad-tempered, crabbed and wayward girl for lack of parental care, is sent to her uncle Mr. Craven after the death of her parents. Lonely and bored as Mary is, she finds an abandoned and mysterious garden under the guidance of a bird Robin. Overwhelmed by the magic of nature and infected by the happiness and optimism of country boy Dickon, Mary gets considerate, kind-hearted and optimistic. Later, with the help of the twice-born Mary, Colin, Mary’s cousin, once perverse and grumpy like the hot-tempered Mary, turns into a positive guy, and so does his father Mr. Craven.

The Secret Garden

When you through the forest, when the spring is coming, when you suddenly find a key, do you want to know, is there a secret garden in the neighborhood?

Now I want to tell you a story about a secret garden. Mary isn’t a good girl. Because her mom doesn’t love her. Her mother is very good-looking, but she isn’t a good mother. She has many parties everyday, she doesn’t know Mary’s birthday. And Mary is very thin, she is not healthy, she never laughs. She feels angry all the time, she doesn’t love any people, and there’s no person loves her, too.． And when one large disease comes into this city, the other people are all die. But Mary doesn’t fell a little bit sad; she just goes to Mr. Craven’s house, because he is her mother’s cousin.

Mrs. Craven died in a beautiful garden, and then Mr. Craven doesn’t laugh any more. He usually lives in other countries. But they have a son, Colin. He as bad as Mary and all the people think he’ll see his mother. He isn’t healthy, he is always crying. And that garden is closed, it becomes a secret garden.
