The novel's protagonist, Scarlett O'Hara is the daughter of a planter, who is rich and standing in Georgia USA. Father Gerald is an Irish immigrant. Arriving in Georgia, Gerald is penniless but he wins the ownership of the manor of Tarot by gambling. After that, he began the venture in this red land, weaving his American Dream. Until 43 years old, he is married with the daughter named Ellen of a French immigrant in East Coast knot. Gerald is good-natured, but bad-tempered and the young wife has a good family education and strict moral values. She manages the day-to-day affairs of the estate as a whole on her own, even sets the black slaves to the doctor. Because of these, the couples get the respects from the white manor and won the love of the black slaves. Their daughter Scarlett is grown up in this environment.

《名人传》读后感

阅读了罗曼·罗兰的《名人传》，深有感触。罗曼·罗兰是20世纪法国著名作家，他的作品是人们强大的精神支柱。《名人传》写的是贝多芬，米开朗基罗和托尔斯泰的故事，他们经历了各种的磨难却没有向命运屈服，在生命的最后一秒仍不屈不挠的抗争着，最终成为了伟人。这也告诉了我们一个道理：艰难和挫折是对命运和人生的最好锤炼！

在这三位伟人当中，给我留下最深印象的是贝多芬。他对音乐有火一般的热情，先后创作了许多优秀的作品。他的作品深邃而辉煌壮观，充满了幻想。但灾难还是无情的降临到了他的头上，在1802年，他意识到自己的听力障碍已经无法治愈，并且会很快恶化。那意味着他可能再也不能进行创作了!这是多么大的打击啊！但他却能顽强的和命运抗争，这也许是他后期能写出那么多不朽作品的原因吧。这种对生活对命运永不妥协的精神正是我们应该学习的，这伟大不屈的灵魂让黑暗的世界有了光芒，让生活有了希望。

After Read The African Child

The African Child was written by an African writer called Camara Laye, who gave me a different perspective about seeing the African children. It is really a book which is worth reading although it do not belong to the best-sellers or the newest publication. It is just a book written in a very long time ago by a not that famous writer, but you’ll find it fantastic or you will finally get something after read the book. Now let’s see the details. The African Child is a book collected by Collins English Library, and the library graded it with level 4. The level represents a text written within a basic vocabulary of 500 words and appropriate structures, 2:1000 words, 3:2000 words, 4:3000 words, 5:5000 words. The Collins English library series are written for students of English as a second or foreign language and for reluctant native readers. The African child only contains 12 chapters, but for me, it’s the perfect, because I cannot read that much words in a short time by my reading speed, I know I have to do with my reading.

Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet, I still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. The tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. This summer I’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. It’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the French author, Antoine de St-Exupery, The Little Prince.

As many other fairy-tales, the outline of The Little Prince is not very complex. ―I‖, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, the Asteroid B612. The little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. In that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.

Before the Christmas Eve, He confessed to the priest before he died. However, he became a good man and went about the town spreading good deeds and charity, learned to adopt the spirit of Christmas throughout the year.

The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin

In this term, I read the book The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, in the book, he showed us what his childhood was like and what he came to value as meaningful and worthwhile techniques of communication, conduct, and self-improvement. Franklin was not in favorable growth environment, and it should be a relatively plain appearance. In 1706 he was born in North America, the home Top 15 of 17 children. His Father is involved in wax and soap as a small businessman, Franklin entered the school for about two years before dropping out of school because of family distress. Then he went to work as an apprentice in his brother’s printing shop, the apprentice days was very difficult, but he did a good use of the apprenticeship leisure time to study hard, and read a lot of books in politics, science, history and literature. He was also proficient in the use of French, Italian, Spanish and Latin by himself. In 1726 Franklin manages a printing factory, it was a great success which created a legend of the American dream, and he printed a huge impact "Pennsylvania". He invented the lightning rod, dual-purpose glasses, new stove and new lights. He pioneered the North American colonies the slogan that is "not join are the death" and drafted out the drafting of" Declaration of Independence "published in 1771 which changed the fate of countless people, and this book gave a description of its process of growth and exhorted the people to be positive.
