A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man’s name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, “With all your money you give me a Bible?” He then stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and a wonderful family, but realizing his father was very old, he thought perhaps he should go to see him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make the arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father’s house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father’s important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he was reading, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer’s name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words? “PAID IN FULL”.

How many times do we miss blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.

Sometimes we don’t realize the good fortune we have or we could have because we expect “the packaging” to be different. What may appear as bad fortune may in fact be the door that is just waiting to be opened

First,I use some examples in daily life to describe the same theme as the one in this story. Then I combine the examples with this story to make a summary and飞速卷皮talk about what I have got from this story.

In our life, sometime we want an apple to eat,but when we ask an apple for our father and mother, they will give us an apple tree rather than an apple. And we want to drink a bowl of hot soup but sometime our mothers will give us a bowl. When you grow up,maybe you will want a Game player, you will talk to your father:“Dad,could you buy me a Game player.”I think, the sensible parents will give you a list about doing housework rather than a Game player. As we all know ,although we can not get the apple,a bowl of hot soup direct, finally we could get the things what we want by another way.But sometimes, what we do is different from what we think. That is apple,a coup of hot soup and a Game player,we must to play the apple tree, water and fertilize it

everyday, we need to leave the table to get the soup we want by ourselves,we need to clean the meeting room and wash the dirty cloth to make pin money.many people maybe give up what they want because they know they should do these things before getting. So,from that time on they decide to give up their dream, they will lose their forever.I guess the reason why they gave up is that these people think they will never reach their dream because they need to wait. In fact, they will reach their dream if hold on.

In my opinion, this action about give up called MISS.They missed the apple they want, hot soup and the Game player. The hero in this story had missed the time to accompany his farther and mother. At the beginning, the hero though his father won`t buy him the car,so he had left with angry. He had chosen left toughly and given up looking for another way to get the key of the car.In the end ,he has missed the time to accompanying parents. If the hero of this story can receive the <Bible> gently and read the book,he will find the key of the car just in his side. That is not regret to him forever.

So,in the way we pursue dream,we must adhere what we want and who we want to be.Even if we can not get the things what we want or we can not became a hero who we want to be punctuality.Don`t give up,everybody. Please believe you and believe the thing are right and you want will be come to you but only you need to wait a minute, just a minute.

Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens', is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don't think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, 'The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose', he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people's honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their 'kindness', they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

Francis Bacon said in his essay, 'Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.'

That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. Therefore, I, a kind

person, want to tell those 'vermin-to-be'to learn from the kind Oliver and regain the nature of goodness.
