Love and marriage is a constant topic among human, In Pride And Prejudice, Jane Austen told a story about five marriages for us in her rational and humorous writing tone, which explains the truth of marriage: love. Marriage should be based on love, while it can’t have access to happiness when just based on money or appearance. And a deeper knowledge is needed when we start our affection . Exclude vanity and prejudice, and think about each other's moral character objectively, and we can know someone better and more exact---- only good moral character deserves real love.

The two pairs lovers in the book, Elizabeth and Darcy, Jane and Bingley, mainly based their marriage on love and excellent moral character, though thinking about looks and family background to small extent. Elizabeth and Darcy's love story is most relished especially. During twisting journey from they hated each other to finally fell in love and got married, Elizabeth and Darcy gradually got to know each other, removed prejudice, and discard meaningless so-called face. Eventually they realized and fell in love with the virtues of each other in readers’ expectation and wishes. Furthermore that Elizabeth refused Darcy's courtship before accepting, still further show her defiance of marriages without love. On the contrary, Charlotte, Elizabeth's friend, who thinks she is not beautiful besides having no money, chose to combine with stupid and shallow Collins out of economic considerations, and lived a ensured but dull marriage life. Similarly, Elizabeth's sister, Lydia, as well as her father's marriage is unfortunate, for they were confused by the beauty of appearance, while ignoring the moral character. They would be bound to regret for their choice all their life .

总而言之,在婚姻面前,我们必须向爱情看齐;在爱情面前,我们必须以人的品德为准;在品德面前,我们必须客观公正。

All in all, we must be for love alignment in the face of marriage; and we must will be subject to moral character in the face of love; and we must be objective and fair in the face of judging the moral character.

第二篇:哈姆雷特、傲慢与偏见、远大前程读后感 英文版

Hamlet

In this summer holiday, I read Hamlet of Shakespeare the second time, and I think it is worth it. Hamlet is one of greatest tragedies of Shakespeare, also a classical representative work of Shakespeare.

Hamlet Wittenberg is the prince of The Kingdom of Denmark. When he heard that his father had died, he hurried back home from Germany to attend his father's funeral. However, he did not catch up with his father's funeral, actually witnessed his mother and Uncle Claudius' wedding ceremony. This had caused Hamm the suspicion at the heart, and soon he met in the royal palace castle with father's ghost at night. His father?s ghost told him that Uncle Claudius was the murder, and wanted him to revenge for him. Then, in order to revenge for his father, Hamlet started the difficult revenge course. Finally, Hamlet sent out the sword and killed Claudius. Sadly, Hamlet accomplished his revenge course at the cost of losing his lover and his own life. It is really a tragic drama.

In this drama, Hamlet is a man with contradictory. He is a man with wisdom and courage. In order to revenge on his uncle for murdering his father, he pretended to be mad and suffer a lot of misery to make Claudius keep a less look out on him. However, we can also say that Hamlet is rude and selfish, for he did not think twice before his revenge and hurt others, even the ones he deeply loved. Moreover, he had many chances to kill Claudius, but he just

hesitated and hesitated, which reflects the religious thought poisons.

In a word, Hamlet is a great and classical drama. “To be or not to be, that is a question.” is a very classical sentence. I believe almost everyone who is in extreme despair will think of that. In terms of this question, I think, we need to be brave and strong. No matter what happens, we can?t choose death to avoid it, for death can?t deal with anything actually.

Great Expectations

In this summer holiday, I read a book called Great Expectations, it was written by Charles Dickens, one of the most famous English writers. He wrote lots of wonderful novels. This book is one of his famous representative works.

If we never possess anything, we will not mind we lost something. Since we don?t want to be very rich, we will not feel despond because poor. The protagonist of this novel is Pip. His parents died when he was a baby. His sister had brought him up ?by hand?.(the meaning of by hand) His sister married to Joe Gargery, the village blacksmith. They didn?t have much money, and Pip never went to school to study. But he was often very happy .Because all of his friends are like him. It isn?t very

unfortunate to them, this is their lives. But by a chance, Pip helped a convict; he gave much food to him. Then he met Miss Havisham, a very strange old woman and she was very rich. Four years later, Miss Havisham wants Pip to be removed from his home and educated as a gentleman who expects inherit a fortune when he grow up.

After hearing that, Pip started to despise his poor friends. From then on, he became a gentleman without question at the price of losing everything. He even feels ashamed because he lives with the poor man. Pip?s ?great expectations? destroyed his life.

The title of this book is ?Great expectations” which make an impression on us that the character would have great expectations just as the title goes. But in fact this title has a tone of sarcastic on the other way around. People always like to compare with their friends. If other people have a

lot of money, we also want to be rich. If all the people around us are poor, we never mind that we are very poor, too.

I have learnt a lot from this novel. I believe the real gentlemen are not those who are rich; they should also be generous and kind. And, money may buy many things, but it can?t buy friendship and happiness. It is not worth gaining the money and social position at the cost of losing these precious things.

Pride and prejudice

Pride and prejudice, written by the well-known writer Jane Austen, is a great novel. It is also one of my favorite novels. Austen was regarded as the first author to realistically describe the common characters in common life.

The Bennets has five unmarried daughters. Mr. Bennet is a smart gentleman in the country. He loves his five daughters very much, and the second daughter Elizabeth is his favorite one. However, Mrs. Bennet is an impolite and vain woman who likes to show off. What she thinks about all day is how to make her daughter marry rich and the upper-class men. Jane is the eldest daughter, she has many merits, beauty, kindness,

gentleness and so on, which make Mr. Bingley, a rich young man from the north of England fall in love with her at the first sight. The second daughter, Elizabeth, is a very smart girl who likes reading and dancing. In this novel, Jane Austen mainly shows us her opinions about love and marriage through this character. The others are Mary, Kitty, and Lydia. This writing pictures four marriages in Bennet?s family, and the most impressive one was between Elizabeth and Darcy. Darcy was a single man of a large fortune, he fell in love with Elizabeth and proposed to her regardless of the gap of the wealth and class. But Elizabeth unmercifully refused him by misunderstanding his extreme pride. Fortunately, after a long-term observation of his behaviors, Elizabeth was finally loyal to her own heart.

The first sentence in this book is “It is a truth well known to the entire world that an unmarried man in possession of a large

fortune must be in need of a wife”. It tells us that the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession. Then in this writing, the author expresses her marriage view: It is wrong to get married for the property, money and position; and also it is foolish if you do not consider the above-mentioned factures. So she objected to getting married for money as well as regarding it as something unimportant. She emphasized the importance of the ideal marriage and regarded the true love as its foundation stone.

What I like Austen most is his comedy talent. The tone of this novel is ironic and humorous. Austen laughs at those foolish first-class people and those vain ones.

Another thing I have learnt from this novel is: we should have a correct attitude towards pride and prejudice. In my opinion, they are two weaknesses which will keep us from pursuing love. We should not be controlled by these shortages.
