Firstly, the writer claims that the critics points out that the fine lines may not even represent functional structures of a living dinosaur, but rather structures that were formed after the animal’s death. However, the speaker casts doubt on this opinion by saying that it is not since died it is not by the

decomposition of the skin formed after the death, because in the same place and there are no decomposition in other buried

dinosaur. Also, the dinosaur’s skin was the perfect preservation. Thus we can speculate that the fine lines are dinosaurs' feather.

Secondly, the author argues that some of the critics argue that the lines surrounding the skeleton are much more likely to be fossilized remains of frills than remains of feathers, while the lecture views this issue from an opposite angle. According her, the feather and frills are different in the chemical composition .

The feather has “B.K.” protein, and the frills do not have. Also there are “B.K.” protein in the fine lines of dinosaur' fossil.

Thirdly, the passage states that position of the feature would have made the structures quite useless for flight and of very limited use in thermoregulation. This suggests that the lines do not represent feathers. By contrast, in accordance with the professor, this claim does not hold water. It is because the feather can attract the opposite sex, called display function and the professor give an example of peacock to exemplify this function. Also , Sinosauropteryx structures are orange and white, this colorful remains can be evidence that they are feathers used for display.
