Marcus Aurelius (Marcus Aurelius Antonius) was a Roman Emperor, who lived and ruled the Roman Empire in the 1th century AD. He is the dying Emperor in the 2000 movie Gladiator, who supposedly favors his most trusted General Maximus, rather than his own son Commodus, to inherit his post. Marcus Aurelius is most famously known for his private notebook known as the Meditations, or Words to Myself. Here are some quotes from this Emperor of Roman Empire:
· "Let it be your constant habit to look into the motivations behind people's actions, and see what they would be, as often as it is possible; and to make this habit the more significant, practice it first upon yourself."
