关于举办2015“外研社杯”全国英语

演讲大赛/写作大赛/阅读大赛的赛事通知

一、大赛介绍

“‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛”、“‘外研社杯’全国英语写作大赛”和“‘外研社杯’全国英语阅读大赛”是由外语教学与研究出版社和教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会、教育部高等学校英语专业教学指导分委员会联合举办的公益大赛。

（一）演讲大赛

“‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛”于20xx年创办，在国内外广受关注，已成为全国参赛人数最多、规模最大、水平最高的英语演讲赛事。

（二）写作大赛

“‘外研社杯’全国英语写作大赛”于20xx年启动，旨在推动英语写作教学，提高学生英语写作水平，引领高校外语写作教学的改革与发展。

（三）阅读大赛

“‘外研社杯’全国英语阅读大赛”于20xx年全新举办，旨在通过比赛的形式，激发大学生的英语学习热情，为他们提供阅读实践的机会和自我挑战的舞台。

三项大赛以高远的立意和创新的理念，汇聚全国优秀学子，竞技英语表达与沟通艺术。同一赛场，三个舞台，既各具特色，又互促互进，为全国大学生提供展示外语能力、沟通能力与思辨能力的综合平台。

四、参赛资格

全国具有高等学历教育招生资格的普通高等学校在校本、专科学生、研究生（不包括在职研究生），35岁以下，中国国籍。

五、报名方式

参加“外研社杯”全国英语演讲大赛/写作大赛/阅读大赛的选手，请认真阅读各参赛须知，填写参赛报名表：详见附表。

2013、2014级学生请以班级为单位将电子版报名汇总表发给大学英语任课教师。

其他年级学生请将电子版报名表发送至邮箱hhtfrank@163.com。（同一班级或专业最好汇总一下统一发送。）

注意：报名表请直接粘贴到邮件正文里，请勿发送附件（详见附表）。

六、截止日期

    英语演讲、写作与阅读能力是国家未来发展对高端人才的基本要求，也是高端人才外语能力、思辨能力、交际能力、创新能力和国际竞争力的综合体现。三项大赛的设置，将以“读”、“说”和“写”三大能力的提高为“驱动力”，全面提升学生的外语综合应用能力。赛题将以国际化人才要求为标准，融入思辨性、拓展性和创造性等关键要素，增强学生的跨文化交际意识，开拓其国际视野，提升其国际素养。

“‘外研社杯’全国英语演讲大赛”、“‘外研社杯’全国英语写作大赛”和“‘外研社杯’全国英语阅读大赛”覆盖面广，选手代表性强；比赛遵循国际规则，赛程科学，赛制严谨，程序规范；评委专业，评判严格，保证公开、公平、公正；奖项设置合理，师生共赢，奖励丰厚。

20xx年外研社杯英语演讲大赛

题目是一段视频主要内容是：

惠子谓庄子曰：“魏王贻我大瓠之种，我树之成，而实五石。以盛水浆，其坚不能自举也。剖之以为瓢，则瓠落无所容。非不呺然大也，吾为其无用而掊之。”庄子曰：“夫子固拙于用大矣。宋人有善为不龟手之药者，世世以洴澼絖为事。客闻之，请买其方百金。聚族而谋曰：‘我世世为洴澼絖，不过数金，今一朝而鬻技百金，请与之。’客得之，以说吴王。越有难，吴王使之将，冬，与越人水战，大败越人。裂地而封之。能不龟手一也，或以封，或不免于洴澼絖，则所用之异也。今子有五石之瓠，何不虑以为大樽，而浮于江湖，而忧其瓠落无所容？则夫子犹有蓬之心也夫！”

白话文翻译是：

惠子对 庄子说：“魏王送我大葫芦种子，我将它培植起来后，结出的果实有五石容积。用大葫芦去盛水浆，可是它的坚固程度承受不了水的压力。把它剖开做瓢，但它又平又浅的，装不了什么东西。这个葫芦不是不大呀，我因为它没有什么用处而砸烂了它。”庄子说：“先生实在是不善于使用大东西啊！宋国有一善于调制不皲手药物的人家，世世代代以漂洗丝絮为职业。有个游客听说了这件事，愿意用百金的高价收买他的药方。全家人聚集在一起商量：‘我们世世代代在河水里漂洗丝絮，所得不过数金，如今一下子就可卖得百金。还是把药方卖给他吧。’游客得到药方，来游说吴王。正巧 越国发难，吴王派他统率部队，冬天跟越军在水上交战，大败越军，吴王划割土地封赏他。能使手不皲裂，药方是同样的，有的人用它来获得封赏，有的人却只能靠它在水中漂洗丝絮，这是使用的方法不同。如今你有五石容积的大葫芦，怎么不考虑用它来制成腰舟，而浮游于江湖之上，却担忧葫芦太大无处可容？看来先生你还是心窍不通啊！” 我写的演讲稿：（演讲时间为2-3分钟）

Change The Unchangeable—You Will When You Believe

Good evening, ladies and gentleman! It’s my great honor to be here giving this speech to you. Thank you so much. My topic of the speech is change the unchangeable-you will when you believe!

You may often hear this when it comes to keeping a positive attitude towards your daily life, ‘‘change the changeable, and accept the unchangeable.” Of course, this is an easy way to avoid panic when meeting with difficult situations. However, I am going to share with you a totally different opinion about dealing with obstacles and having a successful life. That is, change the unchangeable, and you will when you believe.

In our daily life, there are many things which we considered as the unchangeable. For example, you think you cannot remember all the English words. You think its impossible to be the number one in your class because many students are doing better than you. And also you do not believe that you can change the world by yourself. But now, I am telling you, all of these are not true. There is a chance that you can change the so-called unchangeable things. It’s not a hard as it looks like. All you need to do is to be confident, believing in yourself that you can do it.

Hello, everybody!

It is my great pleasure to stand here and share my idea on learning with you all today.

With the rapid development of the modern science and technology, learning is becoming a very common behavior among people of different age or with different color. In English, there is a famous saying said that it is never too old to learn. This idea is becoming more and more popular among people in China and also inspiring more and more Chinese people to achieve their goal and better their life.

Do you still remember the joke about foreign language learning? It is said that, one day, a mouse mother is walking in the garden with her young baby. They are enjoying the beautiful scenery and the happy moment after dinner. Suddenly, a cat runs out from the house and walks directly towards the two mice. Greatly shocked at the cat, the baby mouse holds her mother tightly and cries her heart out. Just at this crucial moment, the mother of the mouse collects all her energy and shout at the cat in the dog’s voice “wow, wow”. Hearing the voice of the dog, the cat runs away. And both the mouse mother and the baby mouse are safe again. When the baby mouse is still wondering why the cat stops to catch them and runs away, the mouse mother tells proudly to her baby: “The cat here fears dog. And when I shout in the dog’s language, the cat is frightened, so he stops and runs away.” The baby mouse finally understand that their lives are saved at this crucial moment just because her mother has learned another foreign language—dog’s language. In our real life, sometimes, our learning can help us more than what has been said in the story.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. My topic today is “Environment is my top concern”. When talking about Environment, what’s the first thing that has come to your mind? Is it the Copenhagen climate change conference, or the Gulf Oil Spill, or the leak of toxic sludge in Hungary？ Different people may have different answers.

Let’s check out how serious the environmental situation is in the world. Recent years have seen an increasing number of reports on the extinction of species, soil erosion as well as air pollution. The history of industrialization and urbanization has been a history of declining environmental quality. We may be satisfied with our so called modern life, but please do not turn a blind eye to what’s happened around us. Water is polluted. Animals are killed. Resources are devoured. And farmlands turn into desserts.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen; my topic today is “Walls and Bridges”. I’m studying in a city famous for its city walls. All visitors to my city are amazed by the imposing sight of the city walls, silhouetted by the setting sun with gold and shining lines. With cold, cracked bricks patched with lichen. The walls are weather-beaten guards, standing still for centuries in protecting the century. Our ancestors liked to build walls. They built walls in Beijing, Xi’an, Nanjing and many other cities and they built the Great Wall, which snakes through half of our country. They built walls to ward off the enemies and evil spirits. This tradition has been maintained to this day as we still have many schools and parks walled off the public. I grew up at the foot of the city walls and I have loving them since my childhood. For a long time, walls were one of the most natural things in the world. My perception changed after a hiking trip to the Eastern Suburbs, a scenic area of my city. My classmates and I were walking with some international students. As we walked out of the city, we found ourselves flanked by taller and taller trees, which formed a huge canopy above our heads. Suddenly an international student asked me, “where is the entrance to the Eastern Suburbs?” “We’re already in the Eastern Suburbs,” I replied. He seemed taken aback. “I thought you Chinese have walls for everything.” His remark set off a heated debate. At one point, he likened our walled cities to “jails”, while I insisted that the Eastern Suburbs was one of the many places in China that had no walls. That
