The reading material is mainly about the advantage of putting a people into a group of to work. The speaker, however ,totally contradicts with the author’s opinion by providing evidence, efficiency, and personal aptitude.

First of all, teamwork does not give everyone in the group the equal right to get recognized. The speaker demonstrates that some people in the group may get “free ride”, although they do not contribute something to the final success, they may also be praised like anyone else. However, the real contributors, would not receive the recognition they deserve because the success is recognized as a whole. The passage asserts that since the group as wider range of knowledge, it would definitely reach success. Therefore , the author is challenged by the speaker.

Second, the efficiency of the work would be greatly reduced by the team. According to the lecturer, the members of the team hold different kind of view in many aspects, so it is rather difficult for them to reach an agreement without a lot of meetings, which would take a long time. The reading indicates that teamwork is quicker than individual work.

In the reading, it mainly talks about that the edmontosautus in order to survive would migrate south to more suitable place. Nonetheless, in the lecture, the professor thinks the arguments provided in the reading are not convincing.

First of all, the reading mentions that the edmontosaur’s diet support the migrating idea because in the winter, the cold weather prevent plnats from surviving in the north. Nevertheless, the professor concludes that there is no relation between the magration and food supply by giving the fact that long ago the weather in summer was warmer than today’s and even if at the approach of the winter, there did existed enough nurients to feed animals like edmontosauts.

Additonally, the reading states that the many edmontosaur skeletons have been unreathed in the same site which means that the edmontosaur were in herd and there are some similarities bewteen the edmonsaurs and modern migrating animals that find food by migrating. On the contrary, the professor claims that though the enmonsaurs can live in herd, the propose of living in herd is not migrating but aginasting the predators.

The passage doubts that one painting is not one of the masterpieces that are operated by Rembrandt. However, the lecturer argues that the painting is actually the work of Rembrandt for some reasons.

First, the author regards that the detail of that woman's cloth reflects this painting not making by Rembrandt. In contrast, as is rebutted by the lecturer, the painting remained is not the original painting. The painting that we consider today has been modified.

Second, the passage suggests that the light and shadow in the painting is not accurate. But the lecturer refutes that the woman in the paintings wore light color cloth when taking the painting. The light color cloth reflected the light to illuminate the face. This is largely weakening the statement provided by author.

Third, stating by the author, the panel which is made of glued wood pieces shows that painting is not the work of Rembrandt. On the contrary, as is contradicted by the lecturer, the wood which panel is consisted of is same to those of another painting mad by Rembrandt. Moreover, the wood glued together is used to make the painting greater and more valuable.

In terms whether the zebra mussel will exert negative influence on North American, the passage and lecture are contradictory to each other. The author believes that zebra mussel might do harm the local species as they arrived while the lecturer holds a different opinion.

First of all, the author makes a point that the history events suggest the zebra mussel's invasion is unstoppable. In the past, human transportation makes it possible for zebra mussel spread around the whole Europe and it is likely to happen again in North American. However, the lecturer demonstrates a different idea that a change made in the "ballast water" will prevent the invasion of zebra mussel from continuing. He says that if we refill the "ballast water" with ocean water, the mussel will no longer survive because the saline water might probably kill them all.

The lecturer talks about research conducted by a firm that used the group system to handle their work. He says that the theory stated in the passage was very different and somewhat inaccurate when compared to what happened in reality.

First, some members got free rides. That is, some didn’t work hard but got recognition for the success nontheless. This also indicates that people who worked hard were not given recognition they should have gotten. In other words, they weren’t given the opportunity to “shine”. This directly contradicts what the passage indicates.

Second, groups were slow in progress. The passage says that groups are more responsive than individuals because of the number of people involved and their aggregated resources. However, the speaker talks about how the firm found out that groups were slower than individuals in decision making. Groups needed more time for meetings, which are necessary procedures in decision making. This was another place where experience contradicted theory.

篇八 :综合写作TPO2

In the reading passage, the author argues that working in a team has many advantages. However, the professor's lecture casts doubt on the reading passage by a specific example.

First, The author in the reading passage argues that workers can be rewarding. The point disagrees with the statement demonstrated by the lecturer that even though they do a good job, they will not benefit from the team, because no names are appreciated and the glory belongs to the whole team. As a result, workers almost don't contribute to the team project.

According to the author that in a team, there is more knowledge and

resources, therefore, more creative solutions will be built. What's more, the whole team can accomplish the work more quickly. This directly contradicts what the listening material indicates. Because it can take a long time to make a consensus and it will make a few meetings to make an agreement.
