1、when conj. （就在）这时、那时
用作并列连词，不能置于句首。
①I was listening to music when I heard someone knocking at the door.
我正在听音乐，这时听到有人敲门。
②I’ll call on you tomorrow, when I’ll explain it to you.
明于我去看你，那时我再向你说明那件事情。
when的用法：
①when 在本句中，可以相当于if,引导条件状语从句，意为“既然”。如：
How can I help them to understand when they won’t listen to me?
②when 意为“当……的时候”，“在……时”，引导时间状语从句。
③when 是并列连词（=and then）意为“就在这/那时”，连接两个句子。如：
We are about to go to city when it is raining.
whenever,“无论什么时候”，既可引导让步状语从句，也可引导名词性从句，whoever,whichever,whatever,wherever,however等也同样。
“no matter when”只能引导让步状语从句，no matter what(who,where,which,when,how) 也同样。
①Whoever leaves the room last must close the door.
②Whoever came here,he will be welcomed.
2、word 短语归纳
would like a word with sb. 想和某人说句话；have a word with sb. 与某人说句话；
get in a word /get a word in 插话；in a (one)word 总之，一句话；
break one’s word 失信；translate sth. word for word 逐字翻译；with words 口头上；
have/get word(that)… 有消息说，获得消息，听说；keep one’s word 信守诺言；
Word has come/came that… 传来消息说……；in words 用言语；soft words 甜言蜜语；
have a few words with sb. 和某人说几句话；have words(with sb.) 争吵，争论；
in other words/in another word 换句话说；match words with deeds 言行一致；
waster one’s words 白费口舌；the last words 临终遗言；sharp words 苛刻的话。
3、with 就……来说
The problem with looking into space from the earth is that there is a lot of dust in the earth air.
从地球上观察太空存在一个问题，这就是地球的大气中有着大量的尘埃。
①With many of the poor, hunger is a constant problem.
食不果腹是许多穷人经常存在的问题。
②The problem with these men was that they had no knowledge.
这些人的主要问题是他们没有知识。
with fear
该介词短语意为“由于害怕”，with + n.有时用来表示原因，其中的n.常是表示情感的名词。
