Pride and prejudice

This is one of my favorite books. I have read it for more than five times since grade six. It teaches me to love. Pride and prejudice, the ordinary two of human weakness, they pass through the entire novel. Because of property a position, Darcy is born with pride, which leads to the prejudice of Elizabeth. Bingley and Jane also have a romance full of ups and downs. But finally they get rid of their pride and prejudice and find their true love.

Youth and love are both the most easily missing things in the world. Sometimes we use all our youth to love one person. But in the end, there is only memory left. But the memory is also sweet and moving, isn’t it?

Every couple will always have a long way to go. During the process we don’t know whether the person is the right one to go with, but what we can do is recognizing our feeling inside, and clearing up the misunderstanding between us. Not every couple can find each other after several missing. So don’t try to find how lucky you are, just trust him or her, trust that the true love can survive all the tests, especially in our age, in the campus.

So if I have a boyfriend now, I will enjoy myself in the love, in this pure love with him. Kindling the passions, don’t think anything except love.

However, if you decide to get married, maybe it will several years later. Things will change. I have to say, it is true that there are some other factors besides love influence one’s marriage. The status, the possessions, his job are usually what our parents take into consideration. After all, the marriage is not only the combination of two persons, but also two families.

The concept of “Money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind. Let us back to the book. Darcy and Elizabeth are in different classes. Supposing, if Elizabeth would have not her own idea, just like her sisters. Did Darcy still love her? The answer is no, of course no. They fall in

love because Elizabeth has personality which conducts her independent and intelligent, so that they can live a happy life. There is no Cinderella in our real life. If it has, the girl must be intelligent and have her own charm. This charm is not referring to the appearance but the spirit. Besides, Elizabeth loves Darcy. What she loved is just this man who is elegant and modest, not his money. For me, I prefer to make fortune together with my soul mate rather than get the money from him without work. So I need to work harder and harder to get the chance to meet my Mr. Right. And I do believe he will appear in front of me one day.

第二篇:pride and prejudice英文读后感

Impressions of Pride and Prejudice

"It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must in need of a wife ."The opening sentence of Pride and Prejudice left deep impression on readers almost two centuries ago. Jane Austen's tale of love and economics reaches us once more with the energy of a thorough novelty.

"Pride and Prejudice" has been a favorite novel of mine since I first read it and I've seen Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson, Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle and now Matthew MacFadyen and Kiera Knightly. That movie has such a strong appeal to me, I was totally obsessed by it.Amazingly enough I've never been disappointed. The material seems to be full proof. Colin Firth's Darcy, in many ways, is the Darcy I've always imagined. He's been an actor I've followed feverishly since his glorious Adrian LeDuc in "Apartment Zero", Matthew MacFadyen was totally new to me but he managed to create that sense of longing that makes that final pay off so satisfying. Kiera Knightly is a ravishing revelation. I must confess, I didn't remotely imagined that she was capable of the powerful range she brilliantly shows here. The other big surprise is Joe Wright, the director, in his feature film debut which is more than promising, it's extraordinary. The photography, the art direction and the spectacular supporting cast, in particular Donald Sutherland and Brenda Blethyn,

makes this new version of a perennial classic a memorable evening at the movies

Then I find the book “Pride and Prejudice” immediately and read it over and over again. It’s one of my favorite books. And I just can’t wait a minute to express my feeling about it.

I searched the Internet and found something about the author Jane Austen. As the author of Pride and Prejudice,Jane Austen was one of the famous realistic writers in the English literature in nineteenth century. Her novels were witty, warm and ironic portraits of the privilege classes of 18th- and 19th-century England. Her best-known works are Emma (1815), Pride and Prejudice (1813) and Sense and Sensibility (1811).Pride and Prejudice is one of the representative works of Jane Austen, first published in 1813. Though the story's setting is characteristically turn-of-the-19th-century, it retains a fascination for modern readers, continuing near the top of lists of 'most loved books.

I couldn't forget how eager Mrs. Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. If you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, I must mention the situation in Britain at that time. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father's possessions. Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to

become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. Jane Austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century. In “Pride and Prejudice”, the sister of Mr. Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don't have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. From this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. The society, the relatives would not allow them to get marriage. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is stil d in some people's mind. A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children's marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one's marriage. Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can't help thinking: can money determine everything?

Then let’s come to talk about the meaningful topic of this love story: Pride and prejudice are our common problems and weaknesses. In fact, everyone is very easy to be driven by his own subjective impression and thus easy to make incorrect comments on others, and then led to misunderstand between people. One’s first impression can affect a lot of things for sure, but it doesn’t mean it couldn’t be changed. The deeper you get to understand someone, the more objective points you will have on him or her. The changing of Elizabeth’s point of view towards

Darcy just proved this perfectly: no pride, no prejudice, and these two married just because they love each other, just because they need each other instead of need each other’s possessions. Austen is smart, because Elizabeth got beauty and intelligence while Darcy is handsome and rich. I even wonder if such a perfect marriage could take place in modern society. In brief, after reading this story, many feelings come to me. At the same time, I strongly recommend every university students to read this classical book and then think twice about this eternal subject: on love, which factor is that should be in the first place?

In Pride and Prejudice,Jane Austen wrote four types of marriage: deal Elizabeth and Darcy, realizable Charlotte and Collins, felicitous Jane and Bingley, unhappy Lydia and Wickham. She pointed out emphatically economic consideration is the bonds of wedlock and love. She said marriage is not determined by property and family status; it’s unwise to marry without money, but it is wrong to marry for money; the marriage settled by love is happy and ideal.
