With a simple mind, he just handles things, as they come.
“Run, Forrest!” It is Jenny who teaches Gump how to run and how to love. When Gump is teased by other naughty boys, she just tells him to run away. As a result, his leg braces amazingly break off. And his excellent running ability gets him a football scholarship at the University of Alabama and plays a vital role in his later success. While, Jenny lives different life compared to Gump. The abuse by her father leaves a shadow throughout her life. Therefore, she prays to become a bird and fly away to find herself. The reason underlying Jenny leaves Gump again and again is that she thinks she is unworthy of Gump’s love. Moreover, reflections on life have turned her into a mature and responsible woman. She wants to settle down and be the girl of Gump. A lot of people interpret Jenny as the symbol of depravity. dream even it means she has to suffer a great deal. “I miss you, Jenny. If there's anything you need, I won't be far away.” I think only Jenny can always be loved by Gump.
In the Vietnam War, I am deeply impressed by the love between Gump and Bubba and Lt. Dan. Bubba is the best good friend of Gump. He is always talking about the shrimp, and a shrimp boat captain is what he wants to be after the war. But he can never realize his dream. The scene when Bubba covers his wound, comforting Gump “I am ok. I’ll be all right” is impressive. It is the reflection of the deepest friendship between the two. And Gump treasures the love in his heart. As a man of his word, he later founded the shrimp corporation named by Bubba and Gump as a way to complete Bubba’s dream. Lt. Dan is a man who thinks he is destined to die honorably in battle. But Gump “cheated” him which causes him to live as a cripple. He once lived aimlessly and wantonly. It is Gump’s simple, kind, and sincere love that rebuilds his confidence and hope in life. Therefore, he again becomes a dignified and successful man.
Gump always says that “stupid is as stupid does”, which means that a person is stupid as the things he do. While, in terms of Gump, he is very smart because what he does is always a right thing at a right time in a right place. He interprets love in his own simple perspective. For those 9
who have obliged to him, he tries his best to help them and be kind to them. Therefore, he possesses a great deal of spiritual wealth. In our daily life, we are not separated from others as a single unit because it is necessary for us to communicate with others. Numerous people view love as the most precious thing in the world. Therefore, we should be kind to the people around us and show our concern about them, as a result, they can feel loved and needed and better pursuit their ideal life.

This is also the way of life which Jenny and her “hippies” companion have chosen in the film. Compared with them Forrest Gump with a low IQ is completely different.
