As is illustrated in the picture, a man deals with his work on a computer. He is also hooked on a computer at home and at play. Even when he is asleep, he dreams of sitting in front of a computer. Seemingly funny, the picture reveals a severe social problem that computers are overused in modern life.
Three factors contribute to the overuse of computers. To begin with, information revolution has greatly facilitated our work. We communicate with our colleagues via email or instant messaging. Secondly, the rising prosperity gives us access to the Internet at home, making our life convenient. Purchases can be made online at home, which saves us time and trouble. Finally, the Internet serves as an amazing source of entertainment and recreating. As a result, adults and youngsters might get addicted to online activities.
From my perspective, the excessive use of computers may have extremely negative impacts on our life. Obsessed with the net, students might neglect their academic studies and families might become alienated. Therefore, we should make a proper use of computers and the Internet.
