The Challenges in High School
The first day for me to go to high school, I felt so excited, because I came into the new stage of my life. The school asked the students to live in the dormitory, so I had to move out and left my parents. This was such a big challenge for me, because I never left home before. I needed to learn to be independent, what’s more, I also learned to get along with others. High school was like a little society for me and I handed the problems well. The other challenge was from study. I had to learn so many subjects and fought for my future college. I met difficulties and felt frustrated, but I told myself not to give up and I got over the difficulties. High school life is not easy, but we grow up quickly. The Real Youth
Many years ago, the movie about the youth became very popular, every year, we can see many hot movies about the protagonist’s passed youth. People like to recall their passed youth, which makes such movies sell good. But I find the common things about these movies, all the protagonists’ youth are about fighting, love and other negative things. I understand the directors’ intention, they want to tell people youth is not perfect and having pities. Of course movie is exaggerating, the real youth is about studying, at least, most people have worked so hard to get into their ideal colleges. What the movies describe make up some people’s youth, for which they don’t have the chance to experience. We should not be misled by these movies, for the teenagers, their job is to study, so that they can have a bright future.
My English Learning Method
I like English. I think I can share my English learning method with you. First of all, develop interest on English. My way to make it is to watch movies from abroad. At first, I will watch the movie with subtitle. Then I will remove the subtitle, only English left. Gradually, show great interest in English. Secondly, recite vocabularies. Vocabulary is the necessary foundation to start learn English. This time you have to force yourself to remember words. Thirdly, understand basic grammar thoroughly. It is hard for me to understand the meaning of a sentence if I don’t know the basic grammar. Last but not least is to speak more. The basic purpose to learn a language is to communicate. So talk in English as much as you can. And don’t worry about losing face, because everyone makes mistakes. Those are my methods.
A Beautiful Mind
Today, in the English class, my teacher presented us the movie A Beautiful Mind. The movie told a story about a brilliant professor John Nash’s struggle with the mental illness all his life. The story was written according to a real professor John Nash. He made so many brilliant achievements in his life. At his old age, he won the Nobel Prize, which proved that his great breakthrough had affected people deeply. John had the serious mental illness when he was young, he refused to take the medicine which could make his mind think
slowly, so he was doing his research while struggling with his delusion. The lucky thing was that his wife supported him all the time. Because of the support from family, John could work on his job. After winning the Nobel Prize, he thanked his wife in the first time.
The Memory of Youth
After seeing so many movies about the youth, we are starting to wonder about what do we have in our youth, the fight, the drink or the love? My answer is no. What we see from the movie is not true, the plots are exaggerated and misunderstood. For students, their youth is the process of fighting. They have studied so hard to realize their dreams. When they are in primary school, they want to do well and make their parents be proud of them. When they are in middle school and high school, they need to take part in the exams so as to enter the better future schools. Even they are in college, they still need to study and fight for the ideal job. There is no doubt that most people keep fighting for their future and this is the memory of youth.
How to Improve Study?
High school students are under great pressure, they want to do best in the exams, because it means so much for them, if they do well, it means they can enter a good college and have a bright future. But most students are confused with their study, even they work so hard on it, they just couldn’t get the better result. The ways to improve study is very important, students must learn them, so that they can learn in the sufficient way. First, students must foster their interest, they should have interest in the subjects, so that they are willing to learn and won’t treat the subjects as the burden. Second, they need to practice more. As the saying that practice makes perfect, so students must take more exercise, in that case, they will master the knowledge. Improving the study is not easy, so it should move step by step.
Where Has the Time Gone?
In Chinese Spring Festival Gala, the song of Where Has the Time Gone became popular. The words are so touching that when people listen to this song, many memories will come out. For our parents’ generation, they married, raised the kids and then watched them become independent, how time flies. It is just like that they became parents yesterday, and then they become grandparents today. Time flies so fast that they don’t realize they are old. I am so thankful to my parents, for they do so many things for me. I want to return their love, so I must become more independent and mature. So that my parents will be less worried about me and can go travel to enjoy their lives. For me, I want to cherish every moment, enjoy my own life and let the time go more slowly.
Ordinary Is Beautiful
When we are very small, we dream to be the great person in the future, such as the scientist, the policeman and so on. It is good for the children to own the big dream, so that they will study hard and fight for their future. But the fact is that not all the person can
become the great person, most people are doing the ordinary jobs. In my opinion, ordinary is beautiful, too. Though they are not doing the fine jobs, they find their own place and make a contribution to the world. Take the cleaner for example. They wake up early and do the cleaning work. People dare not to do the job because it is so dirty, but the cleaners decorate the city with their hard work. The cleaners are the ordinary people while doing the great job. Hard Work and Income
I always hear about my friends’ complaining, they say their income is such low that they can’t not make ends meet. At first, I would pity for them, but in the long run, I find their work is so easy, they just sit in the office from 9 am to 5 pm, they even don’t need to go out for business. While I see another friend, he works so hard, his working hour is very unstable, sometimes he even works until 9 pm. The fact is that he earns the most between my friends. It is true that no pain, no gain, if people want more, they need to pay out more. Comparing to be envy about other people’s great income, we’d better to work hard to realize what we want. There is not short-cut for people to get successful, working hard is the only way.
Cherish What We Have
Today, as I had nothing to do, so I opened my computer and found a movie to watch. I thought about the movie that my friend asked me to watch, it was called 13 Is Going on 30. The story told about a 13 years old girl wanted to be a woman, so that she could have the beautiful face and perfect body shape. She wanted to date any handsome guy she liked. Then the magical thing happened, she became 30 and she got everything. But she felt lost, because her life was totally messed. I had the same feeling with the girl when I was at her age, I wanted to grow up quickly. But now, when I look at that age, I think it is better to cherish what I had at that time. Every stage of life has its happiness, so there is no need to skip the stage.
