自从我记事起，我就很少见过母亲开心地笑过。

我们很少见过自己的父亲，兄弟姐妹几个就像是一群孤儿。一年三百六十多天，父亲好像总不牵挂家中妻子和儿女。只是到了春节期间，才偶然回到家中，这时我们才可见到这样的“父亲”。父亲的形象，在我心目中，竟然就是这般模糊。

曾记得我六岁那年，一个男人来到我的家中，手里提着一个破旧的包，穿着一双破旧不堪的皮鞋，衣服满是灰尘，整个人看起来简直就是我见过的乞丐！只见他从包里面拿出一些糖果、铅笔、圆珠笔和小本子，还有一沓凌乱的钱，递到了母亲的手中??久别儿女，父亲本来想抱我们一下，亲我们一口，但我们见此情景，都害怕地躲进了自己的房间??过年时别人的父亲总和自己的孩子一起放鞭炮，一起玩耍，小孩子可以在自己父亲的怀里撒娇??而我有什么呢，我的父亲，年复一年，都是这样匆忙地回家，又这样匆匆地离家??几年下来，也有没有见过几次面，我总觉得我们之间隔了一堵厚厚的墙壁。

时光匆匆，岁月飞逝，我们也就这样长大了。带着艰辛，我也上了初二。

那天，在课堂上，老师抑扬顿挫地朗读了朱自清的《背影》。文章中的那个父亲，在家境如此颓唐的情况下艰难地维持一家的生计，还是如此关心牵挂着儿子。特别是父亲月台亲自为儿子买橘子的那一情景，更是让我伏在课桌下偷偷抹眼泪。夜里睡觉前，我拿起课文反反复复地读了很多遍，想想自己这个家，想想日渐衰老的妈妈，想起了已经两年不见面的父亲，我的心里也禁不住地流下了眼泪。此时的我，似乎已经隐隐约约地感觉到了父亲就在我的身边。

由于初三学习紧张，晚自修后我不得不留在学校学习。有一天晚自修，我突然接到母亲打来的一个电话，叫我自修放学后回家。我不知道家里究竟发生了什么事情。

一放学，我骑上自行车就赶快往家里狂奔。一进家门，只见家中灯火通明。一个“熟悉”的身影映入我的眼帘。我心里突然感到一阵惊喜，“爸，你??怎么回来了？”声音如梗在喉咙中。“挺想你们，回来看看??”不经意间，我发现母亲的眼睛有些酸楚。

这时，我仔细端详着眼前的父亲，一个瘦小黝黑的他让我的心颤抖了一下，他竟然如此憔悴！头上已经出现了很多白发，黝黑的脸上写满了皱纹，粗糙的双手似乎刻满了生活的辛酸，他的右手还裹上了一层白纱布。“爸，你的手怎么了？”“没什么??在工地让木板碰了一下。”我轻轻地握住他的右手，仔细地看，只见他的手掌肿得非常厉害，稍微动一下，就疼痛得要命。“不用担心，一点小事，”父亲只是淡淡地笑了笑，这时候，我看见，父亲的眼神里隐藏着一丝丝无奈和痛苦，还有多年以来深深的愧疚。

这就是多年以来让我感到陌生而又熟悉的父亲啊，我曾经多少次在梦中呼喊过他；一个从来就让我感到冷漠的父亲，此时竟然让我的心和他如此地接近。十几年以来，父亲为了这个贫困的家，日夜操劳，到处奔波，可是我们以前从来都没有真正读懂他。朱自清笔下的《背影》，让我阅懂了人间最纯洁的父爱；而父亲这本大书，悲怆地抒写了一段让我心酸的生命历程，让我明白了人情冷暖和人世间的悲欢离合，从而在自己的心灵镌刻了一句永不褪色的宣言：让母亲快乐！让父亲幸福！

How to Survive an Earthquake
