Reader, I am smitten. Society claimed Jane Eyre lacked charm, beauty, and grace, but Charlotte Bronte trusted her readers and me to see beneath the surface to Jane’s bedrock integrity, intelligence, imagination, individualism, and generosity. Jane’s pheromones secrete whiffs of spontaneity and passion that trigger attraction in men like Rochester, St. John-- and me. Says Jane: “I am independent, sir. I am my own mistress.” Her gray Victorian dress hides her sensuality, but Jane is “an aromatic wine, after swallowing, warm and racy.” Jane learned her independence through loneliness, persecution, hardship, death, and a horrific childhood. She has endured suffering, and--for her scars--we love her. Cruelty of others made her kind; she returns good for evil. She adheres to religion but answers to her own conscience and is respectfully skeptical of religious representatives blathering cant. She follows that "still, small voice" of confident conscience:

I can live alone if self-respect requires me too. I need not sell my soul to buy bliss. I have an inward treasure born with me, which can keep me alive if all extraneous delights should be withheld. Rather than a religion of self-righteousness, hers is a religion of integrity and duty which requires tough choices that force her to abandon security and comfort.

Reader, I am Rochester. Volcanic. Moody. “If I have peculiarities of temper, allowances should be made.” I have suffered misfortune, and I just want happiness in middle age. Do my passions overwhelm you? Good. Like Rochester, I will pay the cost, because bloodlessness is a crime against our natures. We will have our freedom.

But Reader, I need Jane, “my elf, my changeling.” Upon meeting her, "my soul began to expand, exult." I have known superficial women fixated on trivialities like the French actress and like Blanche Ingram. But Jane does not seem to care about messy pasts. She is confident, not jealous. Yet, if we persevere, do you think that life has a way of destroying us or destroying the impediments to our happiness?

I am Jane. I am Rochester. Great literature encompasses us. “Eddying darkness seemed to swim around me. I heard a flood loosed in a great mountain and felt the torrent come to rise.”

Reader, I love these independent, intelligent women--both the characters and their creators. I come to this novel right after having read Jane Austen, another clergyman's daughter who died young and whom I love, but Austen writes with quiet wit and irony, and her subtle dialogue requires close attention, so I found her myself starting paragraphs and sometimes chapters over again. But with “Jane Eyre,” I mounted Mesrour as Pilot chased us across the foggy moor, and we raced the wind and scudding clouds. If passion carried me away from the text, I easily picked up the narrative a few paragraphs down the road. Even so, I love Jane Eyre like I loved Elizabeth Bennet and Anne Elliot. Now, I leave to court Catherine in Wuthering Heights. Charlotte Bronte’s sister will make proper introduction.

A thoroughly engaging adaption of the brooding classic, this film rises above the turgid tone often imposed on other classics brought to the screen. Joan Fontaine turns in a brilliantly deceptively understated performance, and Orson Welles restrains from the scenery chewing that marred some of his own projects; there is surprising chemistry between them. At times, Welles is a downright "sexy" leading man! The script (credited to John Houseman and Aldous Huxley) captures the right "tone" of Victorian cruelty and repression.

Under Robert Stevenson's direction Fontaine/Welles seem to capture the essence of two abused outsiders resisting their attraction for one another, trying to adhere to convention. A strong supporting cast. There are brief

though memorable appearances by Agnes Moorehead, Elizabeth Taylor and Peggy Ann Garner as "young" Jane.

George Barnes' camera captures appropriately stark images of Ross Dowd and Thomas Little's sets. Charlotte Bronte's grim novel is well suited to the excellent B/W, cinematography: a memorable scene early in the film has

young Jane being punished by being forced to stand on a stool that is nearly in the center of a fan of shadows cast by the stair railing, It is almost reminiscent of expressionist German films of the Weimar years.

The film manages to entertain as well as inform. Purists may object to the last 3 lines of the film which hint at a slightly happier denouement than the book offered. In spite of that, Jane Eyre is still a nearly flawless film.

Jane Eyre, is a poor but aspiring, small in body but huge in soul, obscure but self-respecting girl. After we close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, Jane Eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think:

We remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past.

We remember her pursuit of justice. It’s like a companion with the goodness. But still, a virtuous person should promote the goodness on one side and must check the badness on the other side.

We remember her self-respect and the clear situation on equality. In her

opinion, everyone is the same at the God’s feet. Though there are differences

in status、in property and also in appearance, but all the human being are equal in personality.

We also remember her striving for life, her toughness and her confidence…

When we think of this girl, what she gave us was not a pretty face or a

transcendent temperament that make us admire deeply, but a huge charm of her personality.

Let me tell what I feel after reading the great work Jane Erye.I was really move by Jane Erye after closing the book. What a kind and good woman!Mrs Eyre had a heart of gold. She really loved everyone around her,and gave others help sincerely(真诚地).She respected(尊重) herself and did her best to do

everything.I really love her.She are both a great teacher and a good friend of mine.Sometimes when I am confuse(迷惑的),I will think of her.I will imagine what will she do if she is I.Why not read Jane Erye my friends!

就是-------尊严加爱/ The novel tells us that the best people to increase the dignity of life is love. Novels by the end of the row that this is such a life. Although I think this kind of outcome is too perfect, so perfect .. a little superficial, but I still respect this author The ideal of a better kind of life. ------- Is to increase the dignity of love / In modern society, few people will like Jane Eyre, for the love for the character and abandon all, and without looking back.'s Whole-hearted pursuit of pay, and pure like a glass of ice water .......

Jane eyre

English: Jane eyre is a novel color autobiography, it explains the theme: people's value = dignity + love.

Jane. Love living in a parents, sponsor, grew up under the environment of treatment with peers, aunt abandon, cousin contempt, cousin insults and beating of a child... this is the dignity of the ruthless trample, but perhaps

because it all, Jane. Love and faith of infinite indomitable spirit, a kind of inner personality can win.

In rochester, she never because he is a teacher and the family status

meanness, but that they feel inferior is equal. Should not because she is a servant, but not respected by others. Also because of her integrity, noble and pure heart, no pollution, secular society for the shock, and rochester her as a spiritual and equality in the conversation, and slowly and deeply in love with her.

Jane eyre itself to us is a kind of simplified, is a fanpiaoguizhen, is a kind of pursuit of whole heart feeling, is a kind of simplified feelings and neglected, it is like a cup of water, purify every reader's heart, also cause readers, especially female readers
