无独有偶,在北京有一位修钢笔的老人,在寸土寸金的王府井,有一间产权属于自己的铺面,但生意惨淡,每月收入仅2000多元。有人劝他:“你把铺面租出去,每月租金就有5000多元,自己省心省力,为什么非要自己经营呢?”老人说:“我也不是傻子,这一点明白账我能不知道吗?可我如今干的事,不仅是经营生意,也是在经营我自己。每月我少了3000元收入,并不影响我的生活质量,我若闲下来没事干或干我不喜欢的事,我就受不了。我这儿是全北京唯一专修钢笔的铺面了,喜欢钢笔的北京人差不多都知道我,我能为那么多的人服务.这不比我一个月多挣几千元更重要吗?我活了70多岁,知道我最需要啥。”

为小人物鸣笛

火车呼啸而过,打破山谷的沉静。一两声响笛特为孤独的深山巡逻员老计而鸣,为他传递平安与美满的讯息。

那列车,不像我们的社会吗?老计,又莫不是社会中小人物的集合?然而日新月异发展着的社会,该向列车学习:不可将小人物无情地抛在身后,要关注他们,为他们鸣笛。 对于日行千里的火车而言,老计的工作是微不足道的。但正是无数个爱岗敬业的老计共同努力,才保证了火车的运行。火车似乎打破了老计安静的山村生活,但它同样为老计带来满足与期盼。社会这部巨大的列车也是如此。抛下了像老计这样卑微却勤恳的人,社会的发展又能走多远?当一个社会富足安康、前途无量之时,须谨记,它并非平地而起、坚不可摧。正相反,是社会中众多平凡的小人物在培育它、守护它,并期望它可以为众人带来收获幸福的土壤。当社会发展不同步、不统一,列车转瞬而过时,那一声汽笛极宝贵。它既传达了感谢、尊重与关怀,又立下承诺为如老计者带来新的生机和希望的承诺。

社会似乎更注重外在与整体,它显现的永远只是千万个个人形成的“公约数”,它最关心的又无不是进步的先锋。然而社会中鲜活的个体那些“老计”们,其实才是进步最大的推动力。他们从事简单却必不可少的工作,是社会中朴实而关键的一环。他们许不是深山里的巡逻员,但他们是社会深处的工人、农民等等。社会作为一个整体,若想持续发展,便必须关注这些小人物的命运。他们是最易被忽略的,因为他们看似静止、被动,但是实际上他们作为社会基础且稳定的力量,是社会发展的前线也是后方。社会的变化趋向,最终要同他们的命运相合。为他们鸣一声笛,社会就有了人情的温暖,社会便得到了警示,使其在高速发展中不忘自身前进的方向及目的:要关爱所有人。这样一来,也避免了它成为大而无当、于民无益、但求浮夸的社会。

我们的社会曾经从小人物身边无情走过。举山村支教教师一例便足以说明。当社会发展的重心锁定在了城市,乡村教师便成了巡逻员老计,他们默默无闻地留驻在大山里,将青春奉献给农村教育事业,以求这辆乡村与城市共同驾驶的社会列车可以平稳地飞驰。可惜他们不似老计般幸运,无人为他们鸣笛,无保障的生活与无希望的未来逼迫他们逃离岗位。如此一来便引发了连锁效应,乡村教育呈真空状态,乡村更加闭塞、落后。城市一枝独秀,并非健康和谐的社会发展。而这一切都源于对人的忽视与默然!今天,人们显然更关注这些小人物的命运了。各种媒体上都出现老计般的面孔,也许目前无法更好地回报他们的无私奉献,但这一关注本身已是进步。社会也已重新发现了它发展的力量。

愿火车飞驰过后留下的是响彻山谷的笛声,并且不仅只是空谷笛声,愿社会在前进的同时,关注每一个小人物的脚步,每一个“老计”庄重的敬礼。

每每说到这儿,他脸上刀刻般的皱纹便会变得更深快乐正在那些山风吹出的沟壑里沉淀着。这故事小计听了很多遍,可每次看到父亲充满自豪和满足的眼神,他还是能感到沉甸甸、热乎乎的东西在胸中流动着。

虽然老师都说他是个聪明的孩子,但小计没能考上大学。高考完从城里回家的那天晚上,他告诉父亲自己想做火车巡逻员。老计坐在门外抽了一夜的烟,天一亮就挎上他的老解放布包去了铁路职工管理处。老计回来以后似乎老了20岁,屈辱和苦闷把那些皱纹刻成了扭曲的伤疤。老计说,“明天就上班。”

第二天小计起来发现家门口的烟头多得像下雪,而父亲脸上伤疤般的皱纹再也没消失过。

小计从火车巡逻员做起。他和老计一起向火车敬礼,听那一声长长的汽笛声如号角般向他们致敬。他发现,只有当汽笛响起时,被刻进父亲皱纹中的痛苦才会溶解;而那一刻,父亲的表情庄重骄傲得像个得胜的将军。

小计毕竟年轻聪明,过了几年竟坐进了职工管理处不宽敞却舒适的办公室。一个老前辈向他说起他的父亲。前辈说,有一天,很少造访的老计居然来了。那帮组长、副主任就跟踢皮球一样把他踢来踢去,他被晾了5个小时才见到主任??

小计的眼睛红了。

再后来,老计退休了,小计已经当上部长,进了城。一天,小计打算回家看老计,决定坐火车回来。在快到老计曾经在那里守护并听着汽笛响起的那段铁路时,他进了司机车厢。他要亲眼看着汽笛被拉响,听那声音向一个和老计一样兢兢业业的可敬人儿致敬。夜色中,一个人影出现在铁路远处。在强光中小计渐渐看清了一副熟悉的装扮,但那年轻挺拔的姿态不属于老计。司机嘴里嘟囔了一声“站这么近”,用力拉了一下汽笛。听了这么多年汽笛声的小计突然捂住了耳朵:那声音太长、太尖、太刺耳了。

等静下来,司机说:“您看,这一长声是警告行人避开。这一带总有那么几个傻人往铁路边站,非得给他使劲拉一下汽笛告诉他快让开他才往后退??不要命的??” 小计说不出话来。他想起家里的破收音机、掉色的搪瓷水杯、缝补过的老解放布包,想起父亲隐藏在皱纹里慈祥的眼神。一切都是那么老,那么旧,那么微不足道,但一切在一声汽笛中又都变得如英雄般骄傲、庄重起来。他突然明白,那汽笛托起的不是别的,正是父亲那份简单又不容侵犯的尊严啊。

他不顾司机的惊诧,伸出手拉响了汽笛。

几座山之外的老宅里,老计在床上微笑着翻了个身。梦境中一声长长的汽笛,把他被山风吹得褪色的灵魂轻轻托起。
