Smart Consumer？Maybe Not

Nowadays, information tends to be more available through modern techniques like Internet which contributes to a phenomenon that many people including students depend on new ways such as coupons, group-buying deals and sales in order to save money. However, for my part, rational consumers will wisely say “No” to all those temptations.

In the first place, as those new ways of consumption catch on in the name of saving money, there is a doubt whether it saves money or wastes money. I prefer the later choice. For example, there are plenty of discounts in the on-line shopping mall where we can get many e-coupons like a 100-Yuan coupon. Maybe we can believe that there is a free lunch in the world if we forget that we should pay for another expensive bound dinner, namely the prerequisites. Consumers should spend 300 Yuan if they want to use the coupon. Furthermore, new ways of consumption will be transformed into a source of pain when we indulge ourselves in looking for the discounts which, to some extent, can be rated as much as addiction to drugs.

To sum up, it’s not smart of us to seize every nominally discount passing by but rather purchase what is necessary. A discount in need is a benefit indeed.
