A desirable career should be the one where people lay their passions and interests, and meanwhile this career should be able to widen their visions, enrich their lives and ultimately fulfill their aspirations to realize life values. The legal profession, I reckon, is the ideal career in line with all my life pursuit. Currently, with my undergraduate study approaching the end, I would like to apply for further study in your LL.M. program to enrich my knowledge base and build up my critical thinking skills to prepare myself to launch a successful legal career.

My undergraduate study in Minzu University of China has proved to be fruitful and colorful. As a self-motivated student, I have spared no pains to equip myself with specialist knowledge and practical skills. Thanks to my unremitting efforts, I have built a firm academic grounding about jurisprudence, criminal law, civil law, commercial law and etc, and scored an exemplary average score of 89.5%, ranking me the first in the whole grade comprised of about 100 students. Moreover, by frequently attending the moot courts and drafting a range of legal documents, I significantly harnessed my verbal and writing skills, and gradually sharpened my insight into China’s judicial system. Furthermore, I have double majored in English, and thereby greatly improved my English proficiency, which enabled me to effectively acquire the knowledge pertaining to international economic law, international law, international private law, and so forth, and thereby consolidated my resolution to pursue further study in a programme which is delivered in English.

Besides my endeavors to solidify academic knowledge, I have thrown myself into a stream of research projects. Among those examples I could cite would be my experience in carrying out the national-level undergraduate innovation training programme titled Fire Protection Regulations of Villages of the Miao Nationality-a Case Study about Xijiang Village Leishan County Guizhou Province. Starting from conducting investigations and interviewing residents in that village, our team collected plentiful data, and studied the pros and cons of current regulations. After consulting professional literatures and seeking advices from scholars& experts, we proposed our suggestions about improving current regulations to better protect villagers’ lives and properties. In recognition of the practical value of our research, our project was awarded as the Excellent Project, and our research paper will soon be published in the 2nd Issue of Journal of Original Ecological National Culture. By undertaking those researches, for one thing, I have largely broadened my intellectual horizon; for another, I enhanced my skills in data collection, analysis and interpretation of results to conduct productive researches, which, in my opinion, will

pave the way for my following postgraduate study.

With a view to gaining valuable job skills, I once served as an assistant in the Legal Service Center of university, and assisted to provide voluntary legal aid to social vulnerable groups covering the issues like questions answering, legal instruments writing, lawsuits agency, and etc. More than that, I have managed to work in Liangshan Intermediate People’s Court. During the process, I involved myself in legal instruments management, court records keeping and execution of cases. By doing so, I got a glimpse of the overall process in handling China’s legal disputes from organization appellate records to initiate prosecutions, and through to the execution of cases. Valuable practical experiences not only enhanced my logical& analytical thinking skills, but granted me personal experience about tackling economic and civil disputes. More importantly, I was allowed to closely contact with high-caliber legal professionals, and their impressive professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication moved me deeply, which reinforced my determination to pursue a career in the legal profession as my lifelong commitment, and inspired me to work harder and harder to grow into a capable legal practitioner just like them.

Personal Statement

In the second year of my university life, one experience of trading stocks make me suddenly realized what I really want to pursue, which let me have an idea to study Software development and programming abroad.

In xxxx, I had my first experience of trading stocks, which I have mentioned above. After reading many books about investing in stocks, such as Soros legend, Kroll on Profitable Investment Strategies, I stepped into the mysterious door of it and finally I got a fat profit. For this small success, I think the key point is to combine the theory and practice. Main theories and methods that I used are K Line theory, Tangent theory, Ideological theory, Price volume

relation theory, Cycle theory, Contrarian Theory etc. To get the most accurate conclusion, I should combine these theories and the real current stock’s situation together. But all of them cannot come true without computer. Although there are already some stock operation softwares, I believe its

function is not perfect. Many of them just make the real-time data statistics into K line and other graphic data without telling us analysis about both current market information and data. But it is just what investors care about.

So an idea of making such that kind of software comes into my mind. But to realize it, I need to take a long time to do a large amount of database

accumulation works. And I hope I can make my dream come true by learning Software development and programming in your school.

Now, I am a senior of Shenyang Normal University. My college major is

Electronic Commerce. For computer and figures, I inexplicably love them even when I was a little boy. So I always have a high score in computer courses of C Programming Language and JAVA, the Computer Network and System

Integration, Advanced Math, Linear Algebra, Probability Theory &Mathematical Statistics and so on. In my private time, I have attended a computer training class for C programming language and taken a National Computer Text. These experiences cultivate me into a thinker with Careful logical thinking ability, abstract problem analysis ability, the overall space architecture ability, independent innovation thinking ability and so on. With these abilities, I am more confident in learning Software development and programming.

“Hobby king” really has a lot of hobbies. I enjoy reading, seeing movies, badminton, swimming, singing, dancing as well as hiking. In my high school, I used to be a member of School Badminton Team and took part in many big games as a representative of my school. And in the first year of my college lift, I participated in the College Singing Context and achieved the name of TOP 10. At the same time, I joined the college dancing group and our college team won the first prize in our university competition, which made me so happy. All these

hobbies I mentioned above are my strong ones, and my weakness is aerobics. But I am a boy loves challenges. In xxxx, I joined Dalian International Hiking Activity. With sunshine, fresh air and beautiful nature, although I am not good at hiking, I feel so relax and comfortable and I really enjoy it.

Besides these, in my spare time, seeing elderly people in nursing homes brings much happiness to me. I have grown up in my grandpa and grandma’s home, towards them, I have emotional dependence. And our family love is irreplaceable. Unfortunately, my grandpa passed away years ago, which let me grow into a man out of a boy in one night. Suddenly, I realized that there are too many people I should cherish, I should pay more time for my families and friends and always thanks for the life and society. So I regularly go to see elderly people who need my love. Their smiling face can touch my inner heart; it seems that I have come back to my happiness childhood with my grandpa and grandma.

It is a strong belief in my family that the American education system has the best to offer in the whole world. America is a big family with different cultures. Americans are not only whites, blacks or yellows, it is for each race. Its inclusiveness and opening make America so attractive and colorful. In America, I will have chance to experience different cultures and I will learn more in a short time. Besides, it would enhance my sense of independence and security.

So after a careful consideration, I choose your distinguished university. And after education I will come back to make my dream come true. I believe studying experience in XXXX will lighten my future road and contribute to my dream of research and develop more useful software system to analysis stock market.
