On Studying Abroad
Studying abroad has come into fashion in China。Many undergraduates at colleges and universities regard studying abroad as the highest pursuit for their four years of college life。And a big percentage of postgraduates go directly to some prestigious high educational institutions in foreign countries upon graduation。More over，quite a number of students，when there is a chance，even stop halfway here in order to go abroad as early as possible。
Why do we have so many Chinese youths studying abroad？First of all，the advanced laboratories and sophisticated apparatuses are so appealing to them。Second，the better living standards abroad serve as another irresistible attraction。Third，better job opportunities will be waiting for them when they come back after studying abroad。 If I have a chance to study abroad，I will not let go of it。Actually，I have already passed my TOFEL and GRE tests，and presently I’m applying to a few wellknown American universities。

Keeping Pets
The number of people keeping pets has increased dramatically in the past few years in China。There are pet shops，pet foods，pet clinics and all kinds of services concerning the wellbeing of pets in all the major cities，and even in some small towns。Every time I take a walk，I see very small lovely dogs being exercised by their owners。 There are quite a number of reasons for people keeping small animals as pets。The most important one is obviously to drive away loneliness for individuals staying home alone，especially for old people and housewives。Besides their companionship，pets bring us a lot of pleasure as well。And there are many people who simply enjoy watching small animals。
If I were put into the position of choosing a pet，what comes to my mind first would be a dog because dogs are believed to be the most faithful animals and also very intelligent to understand some commands。
