——impression of Life of Pi

Life of Pi, one of my favorite books, is what I’m going to introduce in my article today. I read it two years ago, just after watching its movie version which is directed by Ann Lee. Until now, my mind has still kept flashing back this fantastic story. The story itself is extremely attractive, the words of it are full of wisdom and the ending which is the best part of it is really thought provoking.

First of all, it tells a life story of the main character——Pi, an India boy grew up in a zoo and affected by three religions. At first, he decides to become an adherent of all three religions. And the most wonderful part is during a trip to Canada, when all his family died in a shipwreck, he drifted in the Pacific Ocean on a life boat with 4 animals included a tiger. In this incredible journey, he realized that what he had believed can’t save his life and the only thing he needed to trust was himself.

今天看了《Life of Pi》。

一部关于宗教。关于神的片子。

记忆中。第一次让我开始思考宗教与科学的关系。是因为Dan Brown的小说《失落的秘符》 然后生活中一些小的思考。

以及电影《黑客帝国》。《楚门的世界》进一步火上浇油。

基本定型了我现在的认识。

1、

我不愿意和不懂物理的人来谈论上帝。

这并不是说物理学家必然不相信上帝。很多物理学家的研究动力就是解释上帝。

而是说。我觉得对上帝的相信与否。应建立在对自然的理解上。而不是仅盲目的相信。 相信上帝的人说。上帝创造自然。

不信上帝的人说。自然就在这里。

但无论如何。你得先了解自然。

盲目相信上帝人。会感慨于苹果竖直落下。这是神安排好的。

而相信上帝的物理学家。则会感慨于苹果按照公式1/2gt^2丝毫不差的落下。如果不是被神安排好的。怎么会这么巧。

曾经一位无神论者问欧拉。为什么上帝会存在。

欧拉道：先生，e^(πi) + 1 = 0，所以上帝存在。

e=2.718281827...，无限不循环。一片混沌。

π=3.14159265...，无限不循环。一片混沌。

i，纯粹人造的虚数单位。

1，宇宙间最简单的的符号。

这四个东西通过这么简单的公式联系在一起。

这作为相信上帝的理由。我觉得是充分的。

这里突然想到一点题外话。

pi究竟是什么样的存在。

它的来源是圆的周长与直径的比。

所以。这是一个与空间的几何相关的量。

在另一个曲率的空间中。pi就不是3.1415...了。可能会更大或者更小。比如在黑洞附近。 但是。另一方面。pi又可以写成无穷级数的和。比如著名的pi^2/6=自然数平方倒数和。 这似乎是一个不牵涉到宇宙几何的东西。只牵涉到最基本的自然数以及纯粹数学中的代数运算。

而这在任何宇宙中都是一样的。我觉得。

所以。

这是不是说明。我们的宇宙真的就那么巧？

My Reflection on Life of Pi

A couple of days ago, I saw the film Life of Pi. Frankly speaking, it’s really a wonderful film and worth watching.

The whole story begins in Montreal where it

also ends. A Writer seeking his inspiration hears

something legendary occurring to Pi. Pi told him an incredible story: accompanied by a Bengal tiger called Richard Parker, a 17-year-old boy succeeded in sailing across the Pacific and arriving in Mexico. But things didn’t end here. Then Pi told him another story, a story similar to the former one but he changed animal roles into humans.

However, there is only one truth. From my point of view, I think the second story is the truth. The first story is just the second story’s metaphor. The former is fantastic but lack of evidences to support it. While, the latter is cruel but full of rationality. As we all know, the story is related to so much, such as religion, humanity, reality, nature of goodness, and social law, which make the story philosophical and

The life of pi 读后感

The whole story begins in Montreal where it also ends. The chapter 1 is about the background of a 17-year-old boy Pi- who is at first named as a swimming pool in French. But the pronunciation of that is the same with “excrete”,so he changed his name into Pi.

Chapter 2 is mainly about an incredible story: accompanied by a Bengal tiger called Richard Parker, the 17-year-old boy succeeded in sailing across the Pacific and arriving in Mexico .

Then the writer describes another story , a story similar to the former one but he changed animal roles into humans . The same with many other people, I believe the second story is true, although it is so cruel.

It is , in my opinion, a film about humanity and belief, that is, when you are in predicament, or even suffer from death, then never give up. There must be countless people who tell you not to give up, but the case is that: you never fail, you just give up. Actually, failure is not forever, but if you give up, you’ll never ever do it. I watched a film called Life of Pi in this winter holidays.I think that it must be a great film.

Pi is an Indian boy.At first his name is Picine.He doesn’t like this name.So everyone calls him Pi.It meansπ.

Pi’s father had a zoo.There were many animals in it.Pi got on well with these animals.When Pi was 17 years old,his father decided to move his family to Canada.So his whole family went to Canada with some animals by ship.His father wanted to sell these animals for a high price. On the way to Canada,the ship was broken by the strom.Only Pi and four animals survived on a lifeboat. These animals included a tiger,a zebra,a hyena and an orangutan. The hyena killed the zebra and the orangutan.but it was killed by the tiger. The tiger’s name was Richard Parke.

Impression of the old man and the sea

I wanted to write a passage about another book called life of pi, but that book is a little weird. Then I chose this one, which I’ve just finished the second time.

This novel is so good that I read it twice. I believe that most people have read it before, so I’ll omit the summary.

It is not important whether Santiago (the fisherman) brings back the marlin at last, but the process is valuable. Remember that famous sentence? “Man is not made for defeat...A man can be destroyed but not defeated”. The sea is both kind and cruel, but Santiago cannot be defeated by whatever misfortunes befall him. Just like we are in this feminine and masculine world, right? We are really tired of the dark and boring competition, but we have to prove that we can be a better person if we are brave. We cannot withdraw when facing something bad, the best thing is to try hard to change it no matter how awful it is. Then you are satisfied, for you’ve done what you could do.

The Main Difference between My College Life and My Middle School Life

Before students enter the university, they all want to know the main difference between college life and middle school life. According to my experience, college life has more freedom than the life in middle school. As for me , I prefer the more free life in university for the following three reasons. First, our studying becomes unconstrained. At the middle school, we spend most of our time studying. We have many courses and a lot of work waiting for us to complete. We try our best to study because we all want to go to better universities. But in university, it’s different. We have more time not only for studying but also for many other things. Scores are not the only standard for our life. Besides, we have more freedom in our daily life. In middle school, we always controlled by our parents and teachers. However, we can arrange our time without parents’ company in college life. Last but not least, we enjoy more free extracurricular time. The only thing we can do in middle school is studying. We have no spare time to do what we want to do. But it’s totally different in our college life. We have more free time to take part in various kinds of activities, such as dancing, playing different kinds of balls, which make our life more colorful and meaningful.
