Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. At present, my fellow students and I have before us great personal and educational opportunities. At the same time, we are running into a variety of challenges.

Today's college education provides us with opportunities for bringing out the creativity and talent that we have within us. This is nurtured both by our learned professors, and by the growing dimension of knowledge sources, such as the World Wide Web and multimedia sources. Our educational experience is being transformed both within and beyond the traditional classroom. However, challenges still exist.

At the end of every semester, students in my university are required to fill out a questionnaire as a review of the previous semester. The questions usually cover a broad range of college life, from curriculum adjustment to canteen service. And almost every time, the questionnaire includes one essential question, that is: As a college student, what are your major challenges? And almost every answer includes two aspects: studying and professional. These two challenges will remain our preoccupations as long as we live in such a competitive world.

今天，我从容地走到了这个讲台，我坚定的目光里透视着什么，您能看见吗？今天，我欣喜得站在了这个讲台，我微笑的脸颊上又书写着什么，您能读懂吗？好吧，那就让我轻轻地告诉您：我坚定的目光里透视的是自信，我微笑的脸颊上书写的也是自信！

今天，我演讲的题目《自信,是最美的装饰》。

我曾经读过这样一个：一个相貌平平的女孩，一直为自己的貌不惊人而非常悲观，整日垂头度日。有一天，她到商场去买了一个非常漂亮的蝴蝶结戴在了头上，在服务员的啧啧赞叹中，她满意而自信地昂起头跑出了商场，跑到了同学中。同学们夸奖她抬头的样子可真美。她以为是美丽的蝴蝶结给她带来的美丽，所以就下意识地去摸她头上的蝴蝶结，然而她并没有摸到，那是因为她兴奋地跑出商场门口时蝴蝶结就已经掉在地上了，她的美是自信支撑起的昂首挺胸，是自信带给她的矫健步伐。

自信真可谓是一种美丽的装饰啊，她可以让普通变得魅力四射，也可以让平凡变得万丈光芒。不是吗，正因为有了自信，才有了晏子使楚佳话流传；正因为有了自信，才有了毛遂自荐千古传颂。诸如此类，比比皆是。我不由得又想起了疯狂英语的创始人李阳，如果没有自信，那么，常常不及格的他就会一蹶不振，又怎么会有疯狂英语风靡全中国呢？我还情不自禁地想起了伟大的数学家陈景润，如果没有自信，那么，语言表达能力不强、讲不好课的他，就会颓废消沉，世界数学殿堂里不

就少了一位熠熠闪光的中国人了吗？当年，钱学森如果不是对着热血沸腾的中国青年说出那句“我们中国人并不比外国人差”的豪言壮语，又怎么会有今天中国的载人航天飞行让全世界惊羡？当年，如果没有爱迪生一千多次的反复试验，又怎么会有我们今天霓虹闪烁、流光溢彩的美妙生活呢？??

太多太多的“如果”之事，让我们感慨万千，太多太多的自信之人，让我们肃然起敬。

自信，真的是一种美丽的装饰，有了它的装点，人间拥有这么多的美丽，有了它的装点，世界拥有这么多的美好。

Good morning,everyone! I`m very happy to have this chance to give my presentation. Before I start my speech, please let me ask you a question. Do you think you are confident in yourself? If you are, do please raise your hand.

My topic today is “ to Be a Confident Person.” What is confidence? Confidence is to trust yourself. Confidence is to look upon

yourself. It is not to indulge in self-admiration. It is not to get extremely arrogant. It is not to get dizzy with success or to be opinionated. It is just to inspire yourself ahead of a quality of mind, in high spirit, full of energy. It is to meet the challenges of life in a positive mood. It is to overcome your inferiority, farewell, to get rid of the trouble of a a ready-made panacea.

Remember, I have just entered junior high school. In the face of the challenge of new environment, in the face of so many new courses and learning contents, I lost faith in my own and gradually developed a psychological sense of inferiority. Achievement glided ceaselessly. It is a teacher and mother who encouraged me and let me regain confidence. Gradually, my grades got higher and higher and everything began to go on well. Gradually I adapted to the life in middle school.
