I disagree with the recommendation that watching television should be a regular activity at school and at home, as this would produce more negative outcomes than positive ones.

It is true that TV is of immense value to serve as a kind of educational tool. Compared with books, TV provides both visual and audio input at the same time and therefore can effectively enhance learning. A good illustration is that some scientific programs like Discovery or Geography are good source of inspiration and may open the door of wisdom and arouse learning interest in the young minds. Nevertheless, we cannot justify that children should be encouraged to watch television regularly because we cannot dismiss the defects brought to children by watching too much television.
