In this film review, I only pick out the 2 points I interested in. a. Forgive

Forgiveness is the word I learned further from this film. As far as I am concerned, whether during the Middle Ages or in the present times, forgiveness owns the common meaning. It will be more objective if the watershed between ancient times and present times was eliminated. I am heavily against this view “we should be in a light of the Middle Ages to look this drama, the scene Christians bullied the Jew rightly was people’s favorite.” The feelings of the Jew were flooded. Every times all has opposite views, or where does the right and advanced view come from?

In this drama, the merchant Shylock survived in the age when exists acute religions conflicts between Christians and the Jew. Antonio always spurned Shylock’s lending actions, which made Shylock hate him strongly. And then, Jessica eloped with a Christian, Antonio and others took away the money. Series of strikes pushed Shylock break out and determine to fulfil the covenant to punish Antonio. Via the judging, Portia ever required Shylock to forgive Antonio, however, absolutely giddy with enmity, Shylock refused, so the result was tragic for him, and the biggest

cost to get Antonio’s forgiveness was giving up his own relief and convert to Christianity. In my opinion, Shylock is not exactly a miser, he is man at the bottom society, fighting for his nation and eventually deserting his nation. Why? He didn’t know “forgive”, he lost himself in enmity and evil and finally converted relief, casted into slavery, living humbly. In return, if Antonio had looked Shylock in an exact light, Shakespeare would have nothing to write.

b. Another Ending

I always thought Portia’s arguing was resorting to sophistry, actually, she rode over the legal nicety. Had Shylock not stated to cut Antonio, however let skillful butcher to do this, whether blood dropped or not, it was all none of his business, he would escape and survive. Obviously, Shakespeare stopped here, maybe this also was a dramatically description which reflects comedy. Just as nobody would discover that the layer right was Portia who disguised herself as a man.

Another important thing for me is to know more history about Christianity, Christians, the Jew and Shakespeare. Perhaps it would help recognize this kind of drama objectively or help have other views of this drama.

The film review of “Alice In Wonderland Story”

When Alice attends the party which is held by her parents in the Victoria garden, she suddenly finds that she also has an admirer, named ha mi shi who propose to her. But, as is known to us all that it is so unexpected that she has no choice but flee from the party. However, at the meantime, Alice is surprised to see a lovely rabbit that is fleetly running towards ahead, she quickly follows the rabbit to across a large grassy field and comes under a big tree. Suddenly, Alice helplessly look at the rabbit disappear in a cave, and she look into the cave as well. It’s too bad lucky for her, because she accidently falls into the cave. Of course, there is always an angel who helps Alice when it is necessary, consequently, in fact, this cave is the way approaching to the dream world.

This is the second time for Alice coming in the dream world after the first time thirteen years ago. Undertaking the hope from her friends, she takes the mission of returning the red queen’s rule. When she spends an adventure travel, there are six things happened one after another, the first thing is drinking a kind of lotion and becoming little, the second thing is eating cakes can become bigger, the third thing is animals can speak language, the fourth thing is a cat can appear and disappear freely, the fifth thing is there is a place named “dream world”, the last is she can kill a monster in person.

Alice, as a young girl, shying and extremely self-centered in the beginning of this film, changes herself as a person who has a strong ability and confidence under the help from her friends until the last. The white queen is a beautiful and kind woman, while, though the red queen, with a big head, is a leader who is fierce and cruel, we are also difficult to make hatred for her cartoon and dramatic figure. The Mr rabbit always hands a watch and dress a chausses. What’s more, the best mystical figure is the cat, until now, I can remember any details it performs in the film. Those lovely animals, which play some important roles in this film, are not only modeling perfect, but also distinguished and outstanding. Furthermore, the best unforgettable image is performed by the crazy hat, having a special personal characters, his mood is often reflected by his expression and dress. He constantly waiting Alice’s back. When others don’t believe Alice, he is firmly in favor of Alice. So, there is no double that crazy hat is the best friend to Alice.

At last, the intense fight at the end of the film tells about Alice alone fight with the fierce monster, while, the white and red queen’s soldiers fight each other as well. After the splendid fight, it is the time for Alice backing to her true world. However, at this moment, a wonderful dance is performed by crazy hat to express the benediction of the people who live in the dream world to Alice. Evidently, Alice is not belonging to the dream world, so, she has to back her true world after achieving her mission. At the end of this film, when Alice back to her real world, she make a decision to give up the comfortable life but which is fettered by the traditional rule and choose to achieve her father’s dream, establishing a commercial shipping line from Europe to China.
