Now, please let me introduce myself: My name is Yu Jiakui, I’m 23 years old, and from Wenshan, Yunnan province. I Graduated from the Department of Mathematics, Northwest Normal University in June last year. Due to the deep love of mathematics and the pursuit of further study, I chose to go to graduate school once again instead of working. 我的家乡在中国的西南边陲，云南省文山州，那是个少数民族集聚地，有壮彝白苗等十几个少数民族，同时那又是个和谐安详而又美丽如画的地方，我深切地喜欢多种少数民族世世代代和睦相处造就了家乡人朴实善良，热心厚道的特点，他们虽然经济不富有，但却处处充满着幸福和快乐！ Introduce Hometown: my hometown, Wenshan,Yunnan province lies in southwest of China. My favorite music: Everyone has different preferences in music, and each kind of music is loved by people. I like music. When listening to soft music, I always can get more calm and tranquility and less restless and disturbed, soft music let me feel the beauty of the music , life and the world .
最喜欢的运动：
我最喜欢爬山和游泳,或许因为我来自山区，对山水有着不可言语的亲切感，我喜欢不顾一切困难爬到山顶的感觉，也喜欢鼓足劲游到对岸的成功，所以经常爬山游泳，除了能锻炼我的身体，对心情也是一种释怀。
My favorite sport:
I like hiking and swimming. Perhaps, because I come from the mountain, I love the nature a lot. I find the feeling that reaches the top of the mountain after all the difficulties is so great. I also enjoy swimming to the other side of river after suffering so much hardness. Climbing and swimming are not only helpful for my health but also for my mood.
经常开家庭聚会吗：
家庭聚会有助于团结和睦，我家在农村，每天一起干活，一起聊天，一起分享快乐，一起承担忧愁，天天都是聚会，所以就不存在聚会的问题了。

I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.
Education background
In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.
At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. Research experience and academic activity
When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.
In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining
