申请信大致可分为：申请职位或申请学位或留学，对自己的未来设计很重要。这类信件一般涉及写信人对所申请单位或学位的了解，对该单位的良好印象，自己将会为之做出的贡献；申请人的学历或工作经历；表达希望获得此工作或学位的愿望。在写求职信时应当在注意礼貌的同时，注意信息的可信度。尤其是在强调自身经历和优点的时候，更应把握尺度。求职信比较容易把握，而且也非常实用，所以应当熟练掌握。这类信件的主要结构是:

1) 说明写作目的。表明想要获得什么工作或学位，介绍自己，为什么写信。若是应聘工作则还需说明何时何地从哪里获得该职位的招聘信息（对公司评估广告效应非常重要)。所有这些可以用一句话概括。

2) 介绍相关工作经历及本人个性，以表明你可以胜任这个职位。包括教育背景、工作经历、个人能力及成就。还可根据情况简单介绍个人爱好和兴趣。注意：所有这些内容均应与应聘工作或学位有关系。介绍背景时，选词遣字既不过分渲染，又不过分谦虚。要给人留下既充满信心又态度诚恳的印象。

第一段要表明写信的意图，说明对招聘的这个职位很感兴趣，同时还要记住一点，在日常生活中求职信后都会附上简历和相关证书的复印件。第一段的前两句话稍加改动即可用于任何一封求职信。范文在主体段落中说明自己的相关工作经验和个性，最终目的都是要说明写信人适合这份工作。需要注意的是在写自己的工作经验时，一定要与应聘的职位相关，不相关的工作经验没有必要提及。第三段提供给收信人自己的联系方式。另外还要写一些客套话，因为这是在求职，如果写信人真的想得到这份工作，就应当像询问信息时一样，对可能得到的这个工作表示一种期待，同时表示对收信人的谢意。
