提高初中生英语口语的一点实践和想法

摘要:英语学习中,口语交际能力已成为听、读、写、译等基本语言技能之一,而且社会对于口语人才的需求也越来越大,口语教学的重要性和紧迫性引起业内外人士的高度重视。然而由于各种原因,我国口语教学状况和收效不容乐观,在实践中,很多学生感到与外国人进行口语交际有困难,表现得非常胆怯和无法开口,实际交际能力和课程标准中的要求相差甚远。笔者经过多年教学实践发现,中学生英语口语实际交际能力低下的原因主要有以下几个方面。

关键词:值日报告,活动,评价

我教了十年的英语了。这十年里有收获,也有不足之处。我想谈谈我的教学中提高英语口语的一点实践。与大家分享一下。就是英语课前5分钟每天一位学生轮流上讲台做值日报告。

一.实施背景

第一轮把学生从初一带到初三。我发现学生的口语很差,有时你说很简单的问候语,“How are you? What’s the weather like today ? What’s the date today?他们都反映不过来。那可想而知中考中150分中那30分听力分很难拿了。听力考试挺简单的,大多是

些交际用语。学生平时的听力和口语练习比笔试练习少多了。我彻底反思,我想当我从初一再带一批学生时,必须把口语基础到老,我必须要改变这种现状。近年来,我一直坚持在做。

二、铺垫

初一时面对每一位新学生,第一堂课时,首先给每位学生一个英文名字我(我想不出那么多早就在牛津字典里找好了)写下,让学生各自记好自己的名字写法和读音。学生很激动,我有英文名字了。激发他们对英语的兴趣。当他们对话时,就可以问“What’s your Chinese name? What’s your English name?

三、初一初二课前5分钟值日报告内容:

初一的值日报告较简单,因为所学的内容较少。根据单元所学内容增加。给他们一个大概的模式,学以致用,内容(name 、Chinese name,Grade ,Class ,age, phone number ,the date of birth.be from,to live ,appearance,friend,there be 句型,初二内容有:dreamhome, dream, travelling, animals, pet, and so on? 下面是我把一位学生的一篇值日报告的准备材料抄了一下:

My duty report

Hello! Every one . My name is Huang Liang. My English name is Peter. I’m 13years

old .I come from Sichuang, but I live in Xinjiang now.

I’m short and thin. I have short hair and big eyes. I’m in Class 4 ,Grade 8.There are 4 windows and 2 doors in my classroom.

My best friend is Simon. He is tall and strong. He likes watching TV and listening to music. He dislikes playing basketball. I got to know him 2 years ago. He wants to be a singer when he grows up.

My ideal school is very large. It has a big dinning hall. We can eat food and listen to popular music. We eat beef and drink milk every day.

I want to travel around China. Because I want to know more about Chinese history. My birthday is on the 13th of May. Today is Tuesday .It’s sunny. Today is the 6th of March. My telephone number is 138xxxxxxxx.

四、其他学生配合的活动有:

准备一张纸和笔,把所听到的内容做简单的记录。和所出现得错误,给每天的值日报告的同学打分作出评价。英语学习时,学说前都要先听。在听的阶段,虽然不开口说,但却在进行积极的酝酿,也可以说这是一个积极的沉默期。在英语教学中要重视在教学全过程和每次听说训练活动中安排好开口说之前的听,安排的好,学生的发音器官就会自然而然地越来越活

跃,直到产生主动开口说的动机和愿望。

五、老师的活动有:

听值日生的报告,做出鼓励性的评价,就值日生的内容提问:叫学生一个一个回答,检查学生听的效果。一般提问有:

1. What’s his English name?

2. How old is he ?

3. Who is his friend?

4. Where is he from?

5. What does his friend like?

6. Why does he want to travel around China?

7. When is his birthday?

8. How is the weather?

9. What day is it today?

10.What ‘s Huang Liang’ telephone number?

六.评价制度准备好。

学生大声把自己的分数报出来,老师综合一下,整体给出一个公平的分数。在语音语调上点评一下。学生很在乎分数,所有也会积极准备。我把每个人的口语成绩登记好。口语测试不是目的,见证学生的成长是关键 。在英语教学过程中,学生的口语成绩应以形成性评价为主,以终结性评价为辅,学生的课前值日发言、课堂上的讨论、课外活动的参与、英语歌曲的模仿程度等等,都应该作为口语评价的一个方面,只要能培养和激发学生学习英语的积极性和自信心,能促进学生综合语言运用能力和健康人格的发展,我们就达到了目的。

七、口语练习的方式可以变化。

经过初一和初二的锻炼。学生的值日报告做的很出色。初三可以换一种方式。改成对话形式,把学生分成2人一组。每天一组,自选话题。希望有所创新。我挑了一组学生准备的对话的内容,那天我班刚好来了一个新同学。

A: Hello. Amy.

B: Hello .Susan.

A. We have a new classmate. Do you know his name?

B. Well, I don’t know his name. Can you tell me?

A: His name is Hulin.

B: What’s he like ?

A: He is kind and helpful. He studies well .

B: Why do you know him so well?

A: Because he sits behind me.

B :Oh. How lucky you are. It’s time to have English class. Let’s go

A: That’s a good idea. Let’s go .

学生鼓掌。我做出评价,这个话题比较真实talk about a new classmate.话题比较新颖。语音语调也不错。

八 、课前5分钟的口语练习的好处。

1..复习了所学的课文内容。

2.练习了口语。

3.也练习了同学们的听力。

4.为写作提供了素材。

5.提高了学生对英语学习的兴趣。

6.提高了学生的创新能力。

7.培养了学生的评价能力。

8.提高了学生对学习英语的自信心。

9.给学生一个展示自己英语的平台。

九.督促学生养成做值日报告的习惯,教师要做到:

第一轮开始时,老师要辅导,教师下班级认真辅导,仔细观察及时发现学生的发音、朗读上存在的问题,并及时给予纠正、示范和指导。学生提前到老师那过一遍,保证值日报告的课前质量。而且怕不自觉的学生没准备,老师要提醒,多问,准备的怎样了?有些学生自卑不敢在讲台前说英语,老师多鼓励。有些学生英语基础差些的。老师让他内容简单些,保证要熟练,想到什么就说什么,不要卡壳。还有些调皮的学生,直接说:“老师,我不想做报告” 老师又要做学生的思想工作。必须每人都有参加。

十.课前5分钟的口语练习效果。

培养学生的口语和听力是一过循序渐进的过程,我们要持之以恒的精神,一点点地积累。我经过几年的实践课前5分钟的口语练习还是很有收获。让学生再反复听,反复去说。以听促说,听说结合,提高学生说的能力。让学生乐于说、想要说、有话说,是一名英语教师需要不断探索、研究的课题。英语教师只有具有不懈的自我提高意识、勤奋的钻研精神,努力提高口语基本功,才能不断优化自身素质结构,在教育教学中达到理论与实践的统一,知识与能力的统一;才能推进口语教学质量的提高;提高教学质量;才能承担起创新素质教育的重任。这也是一个与学生共同成长的过程。

In my opinion, I think raising pets can relieve our burden of life. Pets such as cats and dogs can bring us more pleasure when we feel lonely, and need a company. Pets can entertain us.

Maybe some people think we have no time to raise pets. But raising pets doesn't need a lot of time if we are not too lazy. In fact, raising pets is not complicated. What we have to do to raise them is washing them, taking food to them and so on. Even if they have no use for anything, they will not take you much time or energy.?In a word, pets will become our friends. We shouldn't be afraid of spending much time raising them. If you try to raise them, you will find the interest in busy life.?

opportunity and challenge(机遇和挑战) ?

The tempo of modern civilization has been much quickened in the last twenty years. While witnessing the dramatic changes in the better-off society, people begin to reconsider the question of "survival". "Survival" in the old sense does not bother us anymore. Instead, we are more concerned about how to "survive" in the human world full of competition. ??Competition always carries abreast challenges and

opportunities to everyone involved. It might appear in an entrance exam, in a regular class, or in a small public speech. Those who fail to detect its real nature-whether an opportunity or a challenge a competition really is- will lose something more or less conducive to our growth. Of course, if we take the competition as an opportunity, we will favor it intentionally because they can help us outstand from the average; they will make us become the focus of public attention; they will grant us more chances and rights to succeed. As a matter of fact, opportunities are supposed to be more

perceptible and welcoming than challenges. The truth is, however, we will lose more opportunities when we choose to take the "opportunity" fork at the crossroads. The other fork, ignored by us and defined as "fearful challenges", offers much more chances for the walker in competition. ?We have such an inclination in life to

overestimate ourselves and hold a thoughtless attitude towards the negative outlook of things. ??We believe in the old saying, "Opportunity knocks but just once," so we always welcome it and devote all our spirit and efforts to it. The most devout believer of this saying are the graduates. Why? There are quite a number of them who pay full attention to positions in big cities and are willing to flood into developed areas under 2

The relationship between a teacher and a student can be either good or bad, helpful or harmfuh. Either way, the relationship can affect the student for the rest of his life. A good teacher-student relationship will make learning enjoyable and well mutually

understandable. Whereas, a had relationship can discourage the student from learning and make teaching an unpleasant task.? In order to have a good teacher-student relationship, it is important that the teacher and the student respect each other. The teacher does not have to force the student to learn. In fact, many students will often work hard simply because they respect their teachers and want to please them. The teacher should motivate and encourage the student without forcing him. He?needs patience and understanding. Learning can be fun when the student has the right

attitude about it. As for the student,he must always show the teacher proper respect. He should be eager to learn and willing to work hard. It is also important to listen carefully and pay attention. Otherwise he would not be able to profit fully from his teacher's knowledge and assistance.? In conclusion, a good teacher-student

relationship can be mutually heneficiah The student gains knowledge eagerly and enjoyably, and the teacher gains satisfaction from his job.
