Will Tourism Bring Harm to the Environment?

In recent years, an increasing number of people go to various places of interest to travel during their free period of time; as a result, their trips have a huge influence. Some people hold the point that it is a very good opportunity to develop tourism to boost economy to their best ability; while others believe that putting so much emphasis on tourism has a disastrous impact on environment. In my opinion, too much tourism will bring harm to the environment.

Firstly, the more people to go to travel, the more possible to damage the environment. Many people enjoy themselves when they visit some beautiful places, but they often do not care about the environment because they throw their rubbish here and there. In this case, it is easy to lead to many environmental problems like water pollution, white pollution, etc. Secondly, as we know, China is a big country with lots of natural sceneries as some mountainous places. A huge number of people are fond of the natural beauties, so they are willing to go to see the splendid scenes. In order to make money, many investors spend much money building hotels and setting up artificial equipments; meanwhile, problems including land slide and mud flow are coming after their investments. Maybe these businessmen earn

so much money, but they also damage the environment deeply. Finally, some tourists think it is meaningful to take photos against the buildings, mark some sighs on the trees, or stand on the grass; however, they do not realize their behaviors may cause a bad effect on the environment.

As far as I am concerned, too much tourism definitely has a harmful impact on the environment in variety of aspects. We cannot blame businessmen or tourists, because there is nothing wrong to develop economy and have a relaxing time. But we have to build an awareness of keeping balance between development and environment.
