My personal budget

I have never thought I need a personal budget on my campus day.A personal budget is a financial plan, which sets limits on the amount of money that will be spent on each category of expenses in a given month.?Many people have no idea exactly where or how they spend a good portion of their money. How many times have you taken money from the ATM only to realize a couple of days later that it is gone? Many times it is difficult to remember how exactly you spent the money, and often times this money is wasted on foolish and light-hearted purchases. A budget will help prevent this from happening by making a person accountable for the money that they spend. If a person only has $50 left for monthly food expenses then they may decide to give up purchasing that fancy $3 designer cup of coffee. Another great benefit is that a budget portrays an accurate idea of how much an individual can actually afford to pay for various consumer items.

The concept of Emotional Intelligence (EQ or EI) was first defined by Peter Salovey and John Mayer, but it became widely popular after Daniel Goleman published his best seller "Emotional Intelligence" in 1995. A definition of emotional intelligence is "Knowing how you and others feel and what to do about it."

Emotions are essential for good decision making and to preserve harmony around us. We admire people with nerves(神经) of steel who have the ability to control their emotions when they face pressure, arguments or aggression. We also enjoy being with people who can express empathy(<心>移情作用;同感 ;共鸣), compassion（同情）, cooperation and forgiveness. We need these emotions to be happy in our professional life as much as we need them in our private life.

The majority of problems at work are caused by unmet emotional needs. The emotionally intelligent manager knows how to identify and manage the emotional needs of both the customers and his team. He wants to help others feel respected, acknowledged, supported, helped, trusted, appreciated, important, special, irreplaceable, useful, needed and valued. When our emotional needs are satisfied we feel better, and when we feel better we are more productive, motivated, patient, creative, cooperative, open-minded, flexible, understanding, caring, empathic and compassionate.

All humans need to feel respected, even the least powerful. To show respect to someone we must respect their feelings. It means asking how they would feel before making decisions which affect them. For example, when two people have agreed to handle a project in a certain way, if one of them thinks later on that he has found a better way, he should discuss it with the other person before making any changes in the original action plan.

It is essential to show respect to customers. Customers not only want to be respected, they also want to feel important. They want to be remembered. They want to be satisfied, helped, understood.

Annual reviews are good occasions to get feedback from employees on how they feel about the management style of the company. Key items to track include whether they feel respected or controlled, supported or criticized, appreciated or judged.

20xx年考研英语样题已经出炉，全卷与去年相比，题型有了新的变化，作文题材也做了较大调整。考生该如何应对？20xx年的考研英语第一次分为英语1和英语2两套试卷，两套试卷究竟有什么不同？不同的考生该如何备考？

什么是“英语 2”

从今年开始，考研英语配合中国的整个研究生入学考试的改革，以及配合中国整个研究生硕士培养方式的一个改革，由原来的一种考试，变成了现在的两种考试。这两种考试它针对的是两种不同的培养方向的硕士生。一种叫做学术型的硕士，另外一种叫做专业学位的硕士。硕士招生规模中90%左右的还是这种学术型的，就是研究型的硕士。剩下的10%到15%左右为专业学位硕士。这种专业学位硕士就包含了以前的MBA，包含了以前的工程硕士、艺术硕士、政府管理硕士，也就是MPA。以前这些考试是单独命题，出不同的试卷，今年在整合的一个大背景，所有的考试都被放在了一天，而且从英语考试方面也做出了一个调整，就是规定了一个新的考试科目，叫做英语二。

英语（二）的试卷结构

题型一：英语知识应用，完形填空（四选一），共20题，分值10分；

题型二：阅读理解，共5篇，25题，分值50分；

题型三：英译汉，共1题，分值15分；

题型四：写作，共2篇作文，分值25分。

英语二与英语一的区别

简要说明： （

1）语法

我们英语2规定了总共有八个语法点，具体的语法点是要考的。只要把这八点做到了，基本上就没问题了。首先第一个就是名词、代词它的用法，数和格，就是可数不可数，这种会考。第二个是形容词。第三个是动词，动词包括时态、语态，时态就是常见的，比如一般现在、一般将来这样子的过去时，语态就是主动和被动。第四点常用连词，连词大家知道常用的就是七个，这个大家把它准备好了，估计在考察语法方面不大。第五个就是非谓语动词，就是不定式和名词。第六个虚拟语气，具体有什么样的表现形式，以及虚拟语气在语言中起到一个什么样的作用，这个应该是一个考察的重点。第七个就是从句，列了宾语从句、主语从句和表语从句。第八个同谓语从句，只要把这些语法点梳理下来了，大概有一个基本概念就没问题了。

（2）词汇

第二个就是词汇，英语2的词汇表，大纲后面主要是词汇表，词汇表没有任何差别。就是说从单词量上的要求来说，英语1和英语2是一样的。

（3）阅读理解

关于阅读理解的部分。英语2没有英语1中规定在阅读理解中会出现3%的超纲单词。所以可以阅读理解部分的单词要求可能要比英语1低一些，就是说出现生词的概率小一些。英语1只是说你需要能够看得懂，既是你在上硕士期间所需要看懂的一切东西，英语1从内容和题材上来说，它规定的不具体，也就说明它考察的内容可能更加广泛一些。而英语2，从内容上主要考这么几类：经济、管理、社会、文化和科普。注意它是把经济和管理放在最前边的，也就是说经济类文章、管理类文章可能是比较重要的，“科普”这个词放在最后说明科普考的可能比较小。体裁方面也规定了就是考三种类型：说明文、议论文和记叙文。这也就是英语2在考试过程中可能出现的抽象性的比较难的文章概率会低一些。针对具体的阅读的要求，英语2也是低一些。第一点，英语1要求大家能够理解文章中概念性的含义，而英语2是没有的。也就是文章中不太会出现一些特别抽象的，特别复杂的费解的概念。第二点，它只要求进行相关的判断、推理，而不需要进行相关的引申，没有引申，也就是说在英语2中如果出现我们阅读理解中的一种题型，叫做推理题的话，它推理的难度要小于英语1。第三点，英语2中没有要求区分阅读理解文章中的论点和论据，既然不让区分论点和论据，那就说明一点，我们在阅读理解中的一种题型，叫做举例题，肯定不会考了。

第二部分，英语1这部分规定了三种题型，一种是七选五，给你七个选五个。第二种是搭配，第三个是排序。最近几年一直考的是七选五，是比较成熟的题型。英语2第二部分，就是新题型部分也规定了三种题型，这三种题型跟英语1非常不一样，第一种题型就是它给一篇文章，让你看，看完了以后让你做一个配队，左边有一系列小短句子，右边有一系列补全这个句子的成份，七个选五个，配比下来，有两个选不到，这个难度比较低，只要对文章有一个整体的大概的理解应该都可以做。第二种就是小标题，我们也叫搭配题，就是用标题和文章段落进行搭配，这个跟英语1是完全一致的。第三种，是让你先读文章，有五个句子，

让你根据文章的意思判断正误，这个难度更低了，你猜一下也有五成的把握。所以英语2第二部分，就是Part B这个难度比较低。

最后一部分，就是英语Part C翻译部分，这个跟考研英语1Pact C也不一样，英语1Part C是给你一篇文章，有五个划线的句子，一般来说那些句子让你翻译的，肯定是看起来就比较费解，而且比较绕，比较难懂的这样的句子。英语2中出现的翻译是一个全文翻译，给你一个英语文章，让你从头到尾翻译下来。跟英语1比，更像是一个体力活，你要写的字可能多一些，但是整个文章的难度要小一些。因为边翻译边去理解的话，有时候比孤零零地理解一个句子，翻译一个句子可能难度还要容易一些，因为有上下文，大概蒙一下，这个句子也能大概同时的翻译过来。而且这样的话，采分点就会比较分散，有些很简单的句子也是采分点，你把它翻译对了也能得分。而英语1就是给你五个孤零零的句子，有的翻不出来，看不懂，就是没有得分。英语2我担心的是，大家能不能在这么短时间内把那些字写下来的问题，它的难度是降低的，量是加大了，所以这个还是需要大家回去好好训练一下，就是有没有这个速度感，不仅要求质，求量，还要追求一个速度，把这个掌握了可能情况会好一些。

（4）小作文

英语2的考试的写作，小作文有一个比较大的变化，过去五年大纲，英语1教育部是这样一句话，就是考察私人或公务信函、备忘录、摘要和报告，但过去小作文考察的都是信函，另外三种题型没有考到过，但是今年大纲明确提出了，不管是英语1还是英语2，明年小作文分成两种题型，二者选一。第一种题型还是信函、备忘录、报告，写一百词左右。这种题型还有。第二种题型，是新加的或者说特别点出的，就是根据给出的一篇汉语文章，中文文章，用英文写一篇80到100个词的文章摘要。摘要这种题型以前大纲也提到了，但是并没有明确的点出。大纲出来之后，针对明年的考试，英语2的考生，小作文大概可能有60%左右的可能性还是考书信，复习思路40%的可能性可能会考摘要。

（5）大作文

针对大作文，英语2大纲和英语1一样，还是论说文。但是有一点小区别，就是英语1大纲是160到200个词，英语2是150词以上，所以字数稍微少了一点。一般来讲写到150到180也就差不多了，不需要写太多。今年英语1大纲样题改成了06年考题，就是给希望

工程写一封信，请求捐款，这个写作难度更大一点。英语2大纲样题改成了08年考研写作真题，就是给你房东写一封信，借了CD，忘还了，道歉，并且写一些建议。英语2就是日常书信，相对来讲简单一些。大作文大纲样题也变了，过去八年都是20xx年的考题，就是世界商业简史，今年英语1大纲样题改成了08年考题，就是两个残疾人跑步，合作这样一个话题。而英语2的大纲，提供的样题是一篇图表作文，是20xx年中国某一个城市交通事故的一些数据，给出了一个表格图。通过大纲题我们可以看的出来，明年英语2考生大作文60%可能需要准备一下图表作文，40%还是需要关注一下图画作文。
